Lacking any real midgame or diplomacy. Not a lot to distinguish factions, either. Needs a lot of work

Endless Legend is a great call. There's a game with legit differences in mechanics and strategy depending on what faction you play as

Got into UC4 this morning....looks good...slower pace...can tell they leveled up after TLOU. When do I actually get to "play" tho...
Put a couple more hours into Witcher 3. Got more quests than I know what to do with. Keep saying it, but these graphics..whew. Coming from the cinematic frame rate of UC4, it's smooth af.

Tried playing Gears 3 again.. I don't know how I ever used a controller. I had a 2.8 K/D but now I barely even get 2 kills in a game.
On the bright side, I look like I could go pro compared to Polygon Doom Guy

i copped an OLED today and they should rename it do DAMN.
Honestly.... The Samsung ks 8000 looked fucking amazing to me. The oled too but the KS wasn't lacking anything to me, and represented more value.
Not as hyped about premium tax on oled anymore. These new LEDs are really something else.

It is not something typically found on the box. If you get a laggy one, games won't feel right and it will be hard to put your finger on why.

By Smokey Go To PostPut a couple more hours into Witcher 3. Got more quests than I know what to do withYeah you don't have to do them all, just take on the ones that sound interesting to you!
but the (good) problem with TW3 is that some quests sound deceptively simple/boring on text. I love it when you're sent to retrieve a sheep and then you fall into a rabbit hole of something else entirely
I've been playing hours of Witcher 3 not knowing that meditation restored potions and bombs. I'm playing on hard and it said meditation doesn't restore health as if you were playing on normal.

I'm finding lots of water and meat in the world, so that's not that big of a deal to me. And since I started it on hard, that's all I really know atm. I also have tons of alcohol and I didn't really know what it was for, but now it's clear.
W3 has basically become my weekend game at the moment. There's just a ton of stuff to do, and that lines up well with me for the Sat/Sun mornings I'm up with my son. He wakes up, I feed him, and then I have a big block of time to game on whatever.

I got a new Logitech g600 to replace the old g600 that I've worn down over the past 4-5 years.
It seems Logitech changed the design and the new design... sucks. The g-shift key works like half time time and that key is vital to playing a game like Guild Wars 2. I ended up returning it and sticking with the older model I had. Not sure what I'm going to do once it fully wears out.

Finally beat UC3.
Liked it quite a lot, even if it hews far too closely to the UC2 blueprint story wise. Some gun battles toward the end were also very obtuse IMO. Too many obscure platforms where guys with RPGs and grenade launchers could hide.
And I will say I'm glad there isn't a boss battle like the end of 2.
Starting 4 hopefully today.

Anybody here play tabletop rpgs?
I played one for the first time last week called Dead of Winter. It's a zombie survival game. It was fun, but a bit of a headache and it ran a little long because it was my first time playing it. It's both competitive and cooperative because it has an element to it where there's a one in three chance that someone can secretly be designated as a betrayer to the group.

By Jay Whatever Go To PostAnybody here play tabletop rpgs?Me! Haven't heard of that one, but it sounds like the Battlestar Gallactica board game. I am currently in two traditional tabletop RPG campaigns.

One is a D&D 4e campaign (that I may try to push the group to switch to Strike! if we get to the point where there are too many modifiers to keep track of). We meet 1-2 times a month to shoot the shit, eat, and murder goblins or whatever. Not much RP but the GM and I are trying to encourage the rest of the group to pick it up in that aspect. Most in this group just really like crunch and tactical combat (some used to play tabletop wargames).
The other campaign is a mixed-splat game in the Chronicles of Darkness universe (rebranded from New World of Darkness after Paradox bought White Wolf). This is one of my favorites I have played in. Very little combat (once every four-to-five sessions). Takes place in a made-up town that has the different supernatural "races" (Vampire, Werewolf, Mage) trying to hold on to their territory. The group are members of a council that try to keep the peace between the factions as well as investigating and handling any unusual things that pop-up in town. We try to meet 3-4 times a month for this one.
The CofD campaign we also started audio recording a few months ago (and even have a couple parts up on youtube, if anyone is at all interested). That part is pretty fun since it's new to all of us. Bought the equipment while everywhere still had their post-Christmas sales going, so it wasn't too expensive to get started, either. I basically took the role of recording engineer. I level everyone's mics before the session, setup the recording, adjust as needed, etc. It's had the effect of making me more critical of the sound guys when I go listen to live concerts, lol.
This is all super nerdy, but whatevs. Have lots of fun and it's something I look forward to every weekend.
Dead of Winter is great, hate the fact that their are no Mini's though, swapped my Zombicide horde in when I bought it, plays great.
Battlestar Galactica also worth a shout if everone is on board.

All the podcasts I listen to are going on about the graphics, with no mention of whether gamepad controls can keep up with the speed its supposed to be played at
Wonder if there's a bit of an Amy Hennig situation at id, and they're better off without the likes of John Carmack
By Hitch Go To PostDoes it control well?Awkward at first (especially with the shitty pistol) but you'll get into the rhythm of things in no time.
