Reinstalling Mafia 2 to replay before 3 comes out. Been a long time since I played it, launch, even. I remember liking it though not near as much as the original and not having problems with the 'driving everywhere' parts. Because I don't want every open world game to be Saint's Row 3. I also remember the DLC being fucking terrible and the AI being annoying, but we'll see how I feel about it years later.

Would be shocked if it offered better image quality than the 2016 Vizio P tbh--and that's 55 inches in the same price range

The glory kills are weak af, but I do like that you can stagger enemies. Also nice that you can turn that ish off. SP campaign looks quality.
The Division appears to be broken at a fundamental level, enabling cheats
It may need a complete rewrite in order to work properly.
Glenn Fiedler is a game-networking consultant with credits on Sony's God of War series, Respawn's Titanfall, and more. In a detailed blog post this week, he lays out what he sees as a core problem of client-side trust in the way The Division's basic networking is structured.
For his analysis, Fiedler makes reference to a recent hacking video (since set to private) that shows a client-side program modifying local memory locations to give a player infinite health, infinite ammo, the ability to warp around the level and shoot through walls, and more. These kinds of demonstrations suggest to Fiedler that the game is using a trusted client network model, where the server essentially accepts the client-side reports of in-game events like player position, weapon fire rates, item inventory, and even when players are hit with bullets.
This is fundamentally different from how most multiplayer online shooters work, Fiedler explains. In games like Quake and Call of Duty, the server doesn't simply trust reports of local gameplay information sent from the client machine (since those can be trivial to edit, especially on PC). Instead, in those games, the raw inputs from the client machine are replicated in what he calls "the real game" running on the server. That means that even if a player tinkers with the memory values on his own client-side copy of the game, that would only affect "ghosts" running on that local machine; the legitimate action being run on the server would be unaffected.
The reason for the continued problems, Fiedler suggests, is that fixing The Division probably isn't just a matter of patching in a few simple server-side checks that test for those hacked clients. To be really secure, Fiedler says, the game would have to be reworked from top to bottom to run a complete, trusted version of the game on the server rather than simply using the game status data stored on individual client machines.http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2016/04/analysis-the-division-may-need-complete-rewrite-to-fix-hacking-problems/

Numerous people called it during the beta when it was figured out you could cheat that way, and then of course the internet claimed "it's a beta, it will be fixed!" like they always do to defend a game.
I'm really curious how people think game development works. The "beta" (as multiplayer demos are referred to these days) was like 3 weeks before the game released or some shit, and people acted as if Ubi just had to flip some switch to make those problems go away.

this is why I don't fuck with Ubisoft. I've never disliked a gaming company more. At least EA intends for its products to function as intended 3 weeks after release.

Anyone play the new Hitman? Kinda tempted to get it.
and does anyone know if DLGamer.com is a legit site? I've never heard of it, neither have people on my friends list. Shows up under isthereanydeal.com and I think they only show legit sites

Someone in the footythread loves it. I think it looks good as well, but I am just wildly turned off by the episode bit sized portions it comes in, and the always online features.
Never used DLGamer myself either, but trustpilot and forum posts seems to say they work well, but can be a bit slow.

i thought the episodic release was stupid but it honestly seems like it fits the game better. People on my list put like 15-20 hours into Ep 1 alone

its dead jim
but the end game being shit doesn't make the game a failure imo--there's still a lot of great content there minus the dark zone
Man, I remember this game being a looker when it came out. But it has not aged well. The models and lip syncing in particular are very bad.

It's my GOTY so far. Wholeheartedly recommend it.
Ni-Oh is fairly ok
it's essentially Onimusha with a stamina bar, it's not that hard, enemy AI is braindead in the demo

I like it. I like the stance mechanic and the ki pulse systems. Makes combat way more active and engaging than Souls has ever been
The Ki system in general is just really good. Both how it works for the player and how the player can exploit it on enemies
Encounters are kinda lame right now yeah, but the framework of the game is super solid.
Not sure I'm in for the full release, but it has my attention now. It's Souls with better action game mechanics and none of the cumbersome legacy features the series refuses to discard.

Finally killed the "Final Boss" in Gungeon. RNG decided to give me a win, because Holster + Railgun is op af and it gave me the best pattern possible for the boss. Got the bullet completed too. Now, I just have to kill pasts so I can get to the final area.
How are the characters/story in Tokyo Mirage? I really don't care for turn-based JRPGs, but I loved Persona 4 just for the attachment to the characters and the story elements that had that nice, slow pacing thanks to the calendar system.

definitely one of those games you can drop 60 on and be cool with it
By Kuma Go To Postanime steam sale assI don't think it is part of the sale, but Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky was real fun. The pacing was formulaic (go to town, complete missions while advancing story to get to next town, repeat) but I enjoyed playing it a lot. There wasn't a "good" character that I absolutely hated, which is a big step up from most RPGS I've played.
E: it is also smaller in scope than most. It's mainly about two teenagers striking out into the world in an effort to become independent. Along the way, they uncover a big conspiracy that threatens the city-states in their region.
E2: it is also relatively short for the genre. A first play-through will typically clock in between 40-50 hours. That is about as long as my attention span can last for a single player story game, so it was perfect for me.
By reilo Go To PostI hated that Deus Ex trailer. Only made it 3 mins in.
Not enough explosions and vista staring for you
By Smokey Go To PostNot enough explosions and vista staring for youThere was a crazy amount of that in there. It was the terrible voice-acting and the cheesy ass dialog. Adam Jensen's VA is woat-tier.
