By Woodenpapangus Go To PostThat's good to hear. I want to play it. But the always online and the episodic form, really did turn me off. Absolutions was an alright game, but when I was looking for another hitman game, this does seem to fix it.
Will wait until it's all released, by then a sale should be right around the corner too.
steam keys were bundled with amd cards so i was able to get the full version at a pretty big discount
the episodic form actually works with hitman imo since the game presses you with a lot of challenges and fun distractions like escalation mode to replay levels. episode 2 and 3 are releasing in april and may, respectively.
Hitman is fantastic. Don't wait, dive in today. I've had no problems with it and its been magnificent. A huge return to form.
About 75% done with Dark Souls 3 so far. I'm glad they're wrapping it up with this one. It's JUST about to overstay its welcome.

The problem I have with hitman games is the same problem I have with most stealth games--there's obviously a carefully constructed puzzle where I can cleanly do the job, but the temptation to cheese the system by just shooting a guy in the head with a silencer without anyone seeing me do it and then ghosting during the chaos is just....so tempting that it makes everything every level basically the same strategy.
I no the solution is "well don't play that way lol" but I feel its a bit of a copout. Games should be designed to push me towards the way its meant to be played. Does the new hitman solve this issue?

However you can absolutely get your kicks in with those types of feelings because there's a ton of level-specific challenges and it encourages a ton of replayability. There's a thing called Escalation contracts, and my new mission was to kill a supermodel legend, dressed as a stylist, with scissors. That SOUNDS like "oh get him to sit in your chair and slice his throat while you do his makeup or hair" but I figured I'd just fuckin' walk out and ambush his photo shoot from the bushes and shiv him in the sides with my scissors and book it. So I did that. And it worked. As I was hauling ass, his photographer had JUST discovered the body. I could have cleaned it up BUT I WAS HIGH OFF OF THE THRILL AND WANTED TO RUN.

Nvidia better get their dx12 shit together before I make that jump to Polaris
Try me Jen-Hsun Huang
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postso what makes it different from absolution? Is it the size and complexity of the scenarios?Detection makes sense now. You have a clear vision of who will bust your disguise and who will not, and there's no silly Instinct meters to manage as you try to brush by someone. Size so far is larger but keep in mind there's only 2 real stages, maybe 3, so far. The disguises just make sense in how they work now, and that alone is a HUGE thing. It's clear where your bullshit will and will not work, and they don't put you in instant alert states if you accidentally step into a restricted area. People will yell at you and get you back where you belong BEFORE raising the alarm.
By DY_nasty Go To PostQuests ARE monotonous, but you're never forced to do them since power requirements are so low and even then none are too far out of the way..
Yeah, but....... RPGs should have quests you WANT to do, you know what i'm saying? For example with The Witcher i'd even take what seems like a buy the numbers collectathon or treasure hunt because they might take you into some interesting looking nook, or throw some humor or a fun story at you.
nah i dont have an amd card, still on a gtx 780 but since nvidia are fucking cheapasses on vram i need to replace it within the next year. case in point, hitman locks me in medium textures cause i only have 3 gb.
need to do a full-scale upgrade anyway--still on an i7-2600. gonna go smokey tier once pascal is out.
the level challenges in hitman 2016 address this to an extent. each stage has a degree of mastery up to lvl 20 which gets you new items and starting points as you make your way there.
doing a silenced pistol kill on the targets gets you only about 5000 points which is good for maybe a level or two of mastery. you have to do the other assassination methods to get all the way to level 20, these include pushing targets over railings, using explosives, poisoning them, sniping them, etc.
paris is just a really nice level too and sapienza in april looks insane

I don't have a X1 so it's my first time playing, always thought it looked good but just messing with the free character while I get a feel for the game
By Xpike Go To Posttheres an mgs sale on psn right now, really commend at least mgs1 for $5I go back and replay MGS1 at least once a year. So much fun.
Still haven't bothered with 4 and 5 though.
just beat Warhammer Dawn of War II...shit was fun. I dig it. About to start my run on Legend of Grimrock and restart my Stardew Valley run
MS store downloads are so fucking slow. If Killer Instinct is any indication, Quantum will be a nightmare.

The windows 10 store shit? It's truly horrible and it actively takes out options of some games like Tomb Raider (that is on other platforms like steam, origin, uplay and so on lol).

So I threw Digimon World 3 into the bushes. As much as I love that franchise, I just cannot give that game a pass for the major flaws it has. Started up Parasite Eve and I'm at the end of Day 2. Movement is so slow, but the game is so fun that it becomes a (relative) non-issue. #DYwasright

Maybe a few that aren't available elsewhere, but nothing much of Sony's exclusive look that interesting to me, especially not when you know the whole experience is going to be hindered by the hardware.
Elite dangerous, Assetto Corsa and dear esther is already some decent games I would want to play though Oculus or Vive, that supports VR officially. Then we got alien isolation where the VR code is already in the game, and just needed mods to enable it. Could see quite a few good already existing games working well with VR modding too, GTAV for example already looks like it's pretty cool in VR.
But it's going to take quite a bit of time for a lot of quality games to come out, devs still figuring out the tech and aren't willing to spend too big budgets on games yet. Luckily most of the companies are clearly in it for the long run. I fear Sony will burn their hands terribly with VR and drop it quickly again like with so much other hardware from them, by trying to push it onto the casual consumer too quickly, who are not willing to spend that kind of money or buy an upgraded PS4. Most of those people who would consider that, will most likely just buy a VR for their gaming PC's.
By Hitch Go To PostIt might have a game or two worth playing thoWhat's concerning to me is the amount of people who feel that VR isn't really worth playing VR enabled games on as opposed to a TV screen. That is something that screams "WAIT" to me.

Parasite Eve is a damn gem of a game deserving a proper remaster. Mechanics were simple yet concise. It was made for multiple playthroughs. If this your first time, you are in for a treat. And fuck that crab. You'll know what I mean later. Less is more. 3 or 4 bullets on an AR is spectacular. ...
By Hitch Go To PostIs anyone here level 30 on The Division, and done with the game on ps4?Hitch I'm 30 and looking for cats to do Dark Zone related shit. Can't find a solid group that wants to play the game without running the damn exploits.

If you're geared enough, I still need to extract from the 2 northernmost dark zones. If not we can just run the lower levels.
Doing Warrengate challenging is a write-off for me, I think.

Price is currently $399.99 they were discussing a better CPU which would raise the price to $499.99 we were guaranteed the price will be no higher than $499.99 (He mentioned the CPU upgrade quite a bit almost as if they haven't really decided on a final spec could be a pricing issue.) also there is currently no plan for any type of trade in program for current PS4 users but that could change.
They stated that the GPU is twice as powerful as standard PS4 and much faster. They did not say exactly how fast but that is was running at a higher clock speed while being much smaller than the original.
It will have a 4k blu ray player and will upscale games that are not natively 4k.
Also there was talk of some sort of VR lounge for the media player app which is supposed to be getting a substantial upgrade.
It was stated plainly and with no room for interpretation that there are developers that already have development kits for the PS4K and that they are making games that will directly target and take advantage of the higher specs of the PS4K. It was also stated that these games will in fact work for the PS4 but with considerable sacrifices made to performance.
It was also made very clear that current games would not be getting any type of performance upgrades by being played on the system and any benefits to older games would come via patch per game and per developer. When asked if this was going to happen the response was "Its a possibility but doubtful with the exception of a handful of games."
We were also given a list of games that will be available at launch that will directly take advantage of the PS4K where the differences are and I will quote him "Significant."
For the PSVR
Eve Valkyrie
Robinson
GT Sport
For the PS4K
Deep Down (Thought this was dead)
GOW4 (This was the exact abbreviation on the sheet I can only assume its god of war 4)
There were more games on the list but these are the ones that stood out to me.
That's all I can remember off the top of my head I'll see if I can get any more information.
Price is currently $399.99
It was also stated that these games will in fact work for the PS4 but with considerable sacrifices made to performance.Called it. I expect OGPS4 to be $249-299 now.
so basically a gtx 680/780 power wise and potentially a decent cpu upgrade, maybe i5 3570k level
that would be a nice upgrade, not even close to 4k but if they've got some secret sauce scaling then so be it
would just be a matter of time before original ps4 owners are stuck with the shittiest ports ever as everyone transitions to the new specs of Ps4k/Xbox 1.5
meanwhile PC gamers with good specs start seeing the ceilings get raised on games
