aaaah so the game is actually based around hunting animals like monster hunter? That sounds like fun actually!

By Dark PhaZe Go To Postadmittedly haven't kept up with many previews but I don't really see the comparison to zeldaYes
are their puzzles and dungeons?
The one I've seen looks pretty small though, and seems to have an armour upgrade when you solve the puzzle, rather than something needed to finish the game
If you would have said "doesn't seem groundbreaking" I don't would not have commented, but "by the numbers" AAA IP's don't generally feature non sexualized female protagonists.
i just don't understand why this ubisoft-tower to reveal map thing ever became a thing. What's the big deal in just showing the whole fucking map?
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postdidn't know it was bloodbourne because of the camera angle
give me bloodbournevania now please
Isn't that basically what Salt & Sanctuary was?

Yeah. I dunno, the Zelda thing hit me right away, character-centric action rpg in a high-key colourful wilderness world with a bow...it felt like if they were setting out to make their answer to that genre.
By Retro Go To PostI'm also surprised that something being a platform exclusive is a selling point in 2017 lol
By Retro Go To PostYeah it seemed like an odd comparison when there's an actual Open World Zelda game that looks way more compelling. and I say that as someone who's not a Zelda fan.
I think you're missing that most people only have one platform - and PS4 is the most popular by far unless you count low-spec PCs - so exclusives will always matter. Especially since they tend to get a ton of polish, proprietary engine coding and a serious marketing push. With 50 million PS4s out there, the number of people who have access to Horizon will be more than 3x the number of people who have access to the 13 million Wii Us + 2 million launch Switches to play Breath of the Wild.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with you, I've got Zelda preordered and will probably pass on this, but I get why it's a big deal.
By p s y Go To PostThink Syndicate was one game too far for me, for that franchise in general really. And that's without even playing 3 or Unity.
AC killed that for me. Only so many towers a man can climb.
As long as there's something interesting to look at from the tower I'm happy to climb it. Horizon looks to have that covered, just about. And climbing a giant robot is a tad more interesting than climbing the the 7th biggest church in Jerusalem
By Hitch Go To PostI like climbing towers to reveal shityou're why we are in this MESS 💀
wanna bet you'll eventually run into a half buried statue of Liberty
By Retro Go To PostI'm also surprised that something being a platform exclusive is a selling point in 2017 lolHilarious coming from a Nintendo fan lol
Not trying to rain on people's hype, just seems like another No Man's Sky to me. Just instead of it being an impossible concept, it's the most by the numbers new IP you could make today.
By Smokey Go To PostIf Horizon was the EXACT same game, but in Xbox you wouldn't see near the amount of hype, tbh.well there aren't nearly as many xb1 users as there ps4 users, right?
Just give me Mass Effect already
Hoping the relationship options are far better than Inquisition which were just horrific for the straight male

I never saw anything Zelda-like about Horizon other than its a third person adventure game
By Hitch Go To PostI like climbing towers to reveal shit
By p s y Go To PostFunny thing is Ubi has stopped doing that while tons of developers still do it.
AC killed that for me. Only so many towers a man can climb.
i loved climbing towers in like, 2009, when it was still impressive to see a huge open world recreation of 15th century italy
but like all things ubisoft everyone has copied it, even Nintendo with Zelda, to the point where it has lost all meaning beyond a useless waste of time

Shadow Of Mordor is the biggest case of getting a bunch of great reviews and me wondering what game everyone was playing because it certainly wasn't this.
By reilo Go To PostHilarious coming from a Nintendo fan lol
Me??
I haven't bought a Nintendo platform since the original DS lite. And I only really started using that this year lol
I think Sony fanboy describes me more as I've owned every platform they've released since the PS2. Even PSP and Vita. I just never really rode for exclusives like that.
I mean we talked about 3rd party support in the switch thread so you might have gotten the impression I was a nintendo fan from that.
By blackace Go To PostWho is getting Torment: Tides of Numenera?
Not until I play Planescape: Torment.

I don't play online, and I already have a gaming PC that I upgrade with every leap in graphics cards. I don't own your console. How do you get me to buy your product over your competitor?

I can understand exclusives influencing purchasing decisions.
I just don't get people already invested in the platform getting excited about them for that reason.
There's a promo that started today where you get to choose Ghost Recon Wildlands or For Honor for free when you buy a Nvidia GPU. Bought mine on the 22nd. Called Microcenter and told them. They came through with a code this afternoon. So expect a flood of cheap keys for both on PC.
For rest of y'all i.e. console users, risk spending $60 on a Ubi game at your own risk.

By data Go To PostMay have to finally try ESO with that Morrowind expansion
I can't believe it took them this long. "No, let's go with our bland generic European forests instead."
By Smokey Go To PostIf Horizon was the EXACT same game, but in Xbox you wouldn't see near the amount of hype, tbh.I dunno I think it would considering those fans are desperate for anything original. Scalebound got tons of hype and it looked like dogshit

Ah, you mean the fanboy angle.
Gotcha. IDk, ppl like to feel like winners.
At least GG are out of their comfort zone with Horizon, props for that.
Shame they moshed right into ubisoft territory instead.

By jjasper Go To PostI dunno I think it would considering those fans are desperate for anything original. Scalebound got tons of hype and it looked like dogshitThe Scalebound hype always seemed like it was based on Kamiya and Platinum. The game itself looked shite from day 1, and there was a distinct undercurrent of 'doesn't look very good, but I'm sure it'll turn out great'
By reilo Go To PostI should reinstall this... played for like an hour and gave up on it
I'm helping Michael Jackson punch Zombies out to make thriller and the music video is directed by Spielberg.
Yakuza 0 is amazing :lol

I was doing all the phone call side quests. Which are RNG based and then RNG on top of that. With unskippable cutscenes and take forever to do.
As someone who has played Yakuza since the first one and nearly 100% all of them except 5 and Dead Souls, that is the most tedious thing I've ever done in Yakuza. And that says a lot as there was a trophy for picking up tons of trash in Y3.

after the patch KH0.2 feels a lot better. If they fix the movement/navigation, and some other stuff that I'm hoping is related to playing Aqua then KH3 will be the GOAT.

Didn't know they were RNG based, I thought you just had to try all the courses and get the best answers with each one.
By Splatt Go To PostI blame IGN and their reviewIGN's review was on point though. Godhand is trash.
By Zhang Jindong Go To PostThose were annoying, but there's only 3 or 4 anyway, so it's not too terrible. It's RNG based on the girls model and then the girls voice. There's 3 girls you can date out of it but almost all the non-dateable girls are substories if you're trying to do all the substories.
Didn't know they were RNG based, I thought you just had to try all the courses and get the best answers with each one.
You have to listen to the voices and hope you can tell the difference to get the ones you haven't gotten yet and then you have to do the mission itself right to get completion.

thread at the other place about it being more cost efficient to just buy two switches instead of accessories lol
i guess thats how nintendo avoids selling only 10 million consoles.

Red Dead and Zelda are the only games I'm really dying to play so far in 2017. Nothing is grabbing me at all.
I haven't played anything in over a month either. Considering finally trying either Tokyo Jungle or Human Revolution.

Far Cry: Dragons Blood is AMAZING and fixes everything I hated about FC3.
Been wanting to play a Far Cry game just for the co-op.. Thinknig about 4 but heard you had to play the opening mission alone before you could play in co-op
This makes me want to get a 3DS more than just about anything I've seen for it, Blaster Master is awesome:
By p s y Go To PostAlso, GG artists and programmers are on super crack, the visual's are just ridiculous.
It really does seem like a UBI style game.
We'll definitely see how much Sony sauce reviewers have when it hits...
there's a glitch in Ryu Ga Gotoku 6 where you can beat the shit out of people with a toddler.
Trying to figure out how to recreate this.
