Okay so, I cant argue which one is better because that's ultimately down to his preferences.
but I can argue that one of them is extremely shallow while the other one is quite deep.
I thought most people found TW3's combat appalling?
Everyone knows Witcher 3s real combat system is Gwent. Just think of it as a really good yugioh game where you occasionally have to cut people.
By shun Go To PostI love Biohazard and I want to get 7, but I'm thinking of getting the censored regular CERO D version of Biohazard 7 instead of the CERO Z Grotesque Version.

By Retro Go To PostAs someone who played the first 4 games years ago….I find its recent overnight popularity in the west absolutely baffling. No one cared about this series until 5 and now everyone's acting like they've always been huge fans and this series is a must buy.
5 was on PS Plus, and its launch was partnered with Sony. So bunch of people got to try it for free, and a bunch of media types like Giant Bomb were doing videos of it. Up until then I think a lot of people thought it was just a b-grade GTA knockoff.
I'll try to play for a significant period tonight and also see if I can do some HDR on vs off impressions.
Went ahead and spoiled RE7 for myself.
Sounds kind of interesting. dat RE series tie in.

They could easily have given a shred of justification for it. Even a line or two of dialogue for your character to dismiss the idea.
What happens next is even dumber lol. You walk not far at all to find a certain person, this path is clear and your car is at the end of it, but you don't take that path you just took, you start going another way for apparently no reason.
You DON'T EVEN TRY TO CALL THE COPS.
its hilarious

Don't understand why they didn't just have a scene that shows your phone breaking or being taken. Its horror 101.
Jesus, twitch brown-nosers annoy me more than they should
Jeff Green runs straight past a key he needs about 10 times, and the people in chat are blaming the game. All the while some knobend pops in every other minute to tell everyone that the game is overpriced.
By etiolation Go To PostWhat are some tips on whats best to do in Rocket League.Practice fucking around with the ball in free play in between matches. Strategy isn't going to matter if you cant score with an open goal so I always jump into free play and hit the ball around to put myself in awkward positions even if its for the 10 seconds before the next game starts.
I mostly play 2v2 and my philosophy is that one player should be putting pressure on the opponent and the other should be in position for shots or defending. Rotating between these two roles fluidly wins games. Recognizing when you should rotate and when you should keep the pressure up is the difficult part. At higher ranks many people are so content with sitting in goal or at the halfway line doing nothing that a lot of opportunities to keep pressure up are lost but I imagine the opposite is true at lower levels where everyone just chases the ball.
Other than that everything is so situational or down to minute details...and sometimes its fun to go for a dumb play that will end up looking cool if it works out.
Marvel Heroes is good fun and I like the controller support (though it could still be improved). I like it much better than Path of Exile for my F2P Diablo-clones.
My Yakuza rankings would probably go 4>2>1>3>5>Dead Souls
0 is seeming like it could be real high up. Maybe at the top.

Like they're the most community interfacing devs I've ever seen. David Brevik talks to people all the time.

I found Dark Souls to be just very boring. Just wait with shield and counter. Bloodborne tried to improve on it with the gun and hand weapon but still that parry mechanic and stiff movement.
Witcher 3 on the other hand, I can play various ways and even if I fuck up I can still shield up and take a breather.
Playthrough I was doing now was using mostly bombs and pushing them back into the fire. Maybe stab them if they come to close.
Gwent is still the best filler game though, the standalone version(beta) I haven't formed a decent enough opinion yet, need to play more.

Anyway Smokey, the ambiance and visuals in RE7 is good. There's not quite enough contrast in the scenes I've been in yet to really judge it, but when it's there it works well. If you're in nothing but a bunch of dark interior doorways and there's a light source here and there, then HDR isn't getting a chance to do much in terms of contrasting. The "dinner scene" (which I'm sure you're ware of) was a nice spot to show off HDR with the candles being really strongly highlighted with a good color gradient off of that--either way it's a hell of a good looking game. It's a bit "soft" looking though, which says a lot since I'm playing at 4k--but it doesn't give me any option to turn off AA. I've seen random images of some areas later in the game that look like they'll take more advantage of HDR.
Gameplay wise the game has honestly been paralyzingly scary so I haven't gotten far. But I did go through some combat and hope to hell that wasn't an indicator of what the game will mostly be like. I shot someone--there was close to zero weapon feedback or satisfaction from the shots connecting--which if nothing else the RE series has done a great job with in the action era.
Ran into an enemy I had to physically HIDE from yesterday, with no obvious hiding spots, and it was awkward as fuck doing it from a first person perspective, but really frightening. I wish I could peak around corners, which is something you can apparently do in VR with headtracking, so I'm envious. In regards to if you should buy it--can't see you advancing more than a few hours before fear makes you move on.

Two is my favorite Yakuza game. It was a good sequel to the first and the best place for those characters to end up
After that I think they just kind of made the same game over and over again. It's really hard to get into the games once you see the formula

What's worse. RE7 or Alien Isolation

I found Isolation not so scary, just really really annoying to play in terms of navigating the environment. Still haven't beaten it.

After grinding levels through half a podcast and the entire Raptor game last night, I'm finally at the last dungeon of Phantasy Star II. I will feel like a champ if I beat this thing...I might be ready to take down Stranger of Sword City next.
Probably gonna have to buy For Honor. Last thing I need is another multiplayer game but I'm really digging it.
I feel like nobody's actually excited for Mass Effect, including Bioware. Like everybody knows that it'll have the same old Bioware problems, but they'll be buying it anyway.

And probably the same old Bioware discounts a year after release. One day I'll get around to finishing my $5 copy of Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Got all the way to Dark Force...and he stomped my party into paste in 2 rounds. Check the FAQ...grind 5 more levels to stand a chance.
FFFFFFUUUUUUUUU
Looks like another evening of space dungeon grinding.
---------------------
So I put that down and picked up Where Is My Heart?, which has been staring at me on my backlog list for nearly half a decade since the PS3 era.
If you've never heard of this game, it's a wonderfully atmospheric puzzle-platformer from the developers of Sportsfriends/Johan Sebastien Joust with near-perfect Mario jump controls and...well, it's way better to see it in action than for me to try and explain how it plays:
Ryan Davis ;_;
This was the other must-finish game on my list, so I'm feeling pretty good right now. It's on PS3/PSP/Vita/Steam and totally recommended, some of the later levels get really elaborate.

Okay, so you just sent me down quite the google hole...this all seems to come from this guy who's basing his theory on a couple of dodgy-sounding Western secondary sources. I have no idea what a primary source for this story would even be. But I kind of want to see if those books are available anywhere and what they cited, if anything.

There is also a shady as quote about "to be a Samurai you need to have black blood" that is quoted by EVERYONE but no one can ever source the Japanese text it is from.. I have been forever wanting to see the Japanese version of the quote in some form but nothing..

The original 1911 article is up on jstor: The Contribution of the Negro to Human Civilization. It's well meaning but doesn't contain footnotes, and contains a number of statements we now know to be inaccurate. That sentence about Sakanoue is the sum total of his mention.
There's also a really detailed page about this theory on Japanese wikipedia, which can't seem to come up with any source earlier than the Chamberlain article either: https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/坂上田村麻呂黒人説
The wiki page mentions that the theory seems to have gotten a lot of traction because W.E.B. DuBois picked it up, which seems likely.
