Maybe.
I think a lot of people end up padding their Dragon Quest clear times grinding unnecessarily tbh
It's one of the few modern RPGs that still rewards grinding, but I don't think any of the games require it

Too much

Yakuza 0
Nioh
Mass Effect
Horizon
Persona 5
for me. Yakuza can probably wait, stinks of PS+
and Nioh stinks of bargain bin
By Smokey Go To PostI'm not sure why I'm being drawn to Gravity Rush 2I assumed I wanted it until it came out, and core mechanics looked no better than those in the first game that should have been teaked imo

That pretty much killed my hype. Plays pretty identical to the first and I don't see those mechanics holding me over for longer than 2 or 3 hours.

Missing Nier
My next couple months is looking like Nier Automata, Persona 5 and Dragon Quest Heroes 2 in that order.
Kinda craving a new action game but not sure if I want that to be Nier or Ni-Oh. Gonna play the final beta this weekend and decide

After seeing speedruns of the game, that's a definite yes. I know I did.
The optional dungeon bodied me hard, on my first attempt. Low level goons with death spells don't give a single fuck about a team of super saiyans.
RE7...maybe when it's inevitably on sale for $15 next year.
Yakuza...looks awesome, but I got burned out on that series and I'm not sure I want to get back in.
Nioh...I suck at souls and that first demo kicked my ass. Pass.
Mass Effect...looks mega-meh. Maybe I'll borrow it off someone some day.
Horizon...promising but Guerilla needs to prove they can deliver more than visuals.
Persona definitely, at some undetermined point in the future.
Nier...looks cool. Maybe.
Zelda's the only thing I'm definitely in on day one, unless reviews/early impressions somehow trash it.

There are hordes with knives out for Nintendo. Always. It would just have to be Phantom Hourglass good and it would be whipped up into the greatest failure not only in mankind's quest for technological understanding, but in the history of art itself.
At least until Microsoft does something at E3.
But seriously, if it just turns out to be "pretty good," I can wait for a bit. I'm not anywhere close to short of games to play.
Yeah I think I'm burnt out on Yakuza too. I played the first 4 back to back a couple years ago before the series caught fire in the west.(which is still crazy to me) I got 5 for free through some twitter giveaway but never touched it.
I'll get all the experience I need from the game from people sharing the funny moments on social media.

Only thing that isn't localised are the spinoffs.
Got the PS Platinum Headset in today. I'll try to remember to throw up a review after I use it for a couple weeks.
I was just thinking how insane it was we still don't have a Tekken 7 release date but apparently its coming next week

Anybody who doesn't have Metro: Last Light yet should totally pick it up. I'm looking pretty hard at that price for Breath of Fire IV, but I already have enough unfinished retro rpgs staring me in the face every time I turn on my Vita. Injustice & SF x Tekken are tempting at those prices too.

Strider is such a frustrating game. They got so many elements of it right - the cast, the controls - but the world is super boring, and the encounter design just doesn't work for the character's power set much of the time.

Walking Dead, Journey and Metro Last Light are fantastic. Trine 2 is pretty damn good too. People say great things about Bastion, Child of Light, Valiant Hearts, Psychonauts, Hitman Go and Wolf Among Us, but I've never played them myself.
And I think The Order is totally worth $5, still the best visuals I've ever seen. But people are really divided on it.

Of course I only have $4.50 in my wallet. Not putting $5 in to spend .50 either. Would get that Michonne Walking Dead.
And you couldn't pay me $5 to play The Order again. Gave it an hour and nope. I got a free copy for anyone here who wants the physical disk. Just pay the postage and I'll send it your way.

See, I platinumed it and was bummed there wasn't a new game + or hard mode when I was done.
Is Dark Cloud 2 any good?
I played the first DC when I got the ps2 but I could never get past the flying unicorn puppy and I didn't have a memory card either so that was rough. I remember being annoyed by the water/food system.

Periodic reminder that you should never buy or play Level 5 games.
Layton, Fantasy Life, Ni No Kuni, and Yokai Watch are all pretty good?
It's their console games that are usually not good, Ni No Kuni was an exception to that rule.

The only Level 5 games I think are good are Dragon Quest VIII and the first few Inazuma Eleven games
Everything else is no bueno.
Their most remarkable quality as a studio is their ability to run their own ideas into the ground. Either during the course of a single playthrough. (Ni no Kuni and Rogue Galaxy) or over the course of multiple entries by flooding the market with countless sequels in a relatively short period of time(Layton, Inazuma Eleven and currently Yokai Watch)

Me too. Actually really really liked it.
Those animal ears of the main character in the new one, is... for the lack of better word, triggering me to the extreme though. I fucking hate that in games. Never used Fran in final fantasy 12 due to it. Hate it hate it hate hate it.
Started up Dark Souls 2 for the first time. It's taking me a minute to shake the rust off, but I can already feel the changes in combat...and some of them I'm not pleased with. I know backstabs were gdlk before, but is everything on a disk? Why the fuck is the animation for taking a swig from the estus flask so damn long? It takes less time to drink a fifth of henny than to heal. I don't need to level this shit, do I?
With the exception of the Artorias dlc, where everything had magic resist, sorcerers had an easy ass time in DS1...right off the bat. I normally roll sorcery and build into a magic knight of sorts. It feels like the game is telling me to fuck off with magic. Room full of three football brehs and I only have a handful of soul arrows and this wack dagger? D:

my advice is to jump straight to DS3 if you can (otherwise DS2 will burn you out because its waaaaaay toooooo loooong), which is closer to Bloodborne's lightning fast combat than the clunkiness of DS1 and 2

unless you're standing far away from the action of course

My advice is to eventually go for a hybrid build. Google 'Dark Crypt Blacksword' or if you want sorcery lean into Hexes which is mad MAD fun and great for crowd control! And quite OP

I lucked out and managed to get the GC version on release, but shortly after the sealed copies on eBay became expensive as fuck.
The aliens and giant bomb video on Elite Dangerous got me playing it all morning. Still an awesome game to have on while watching something or listening to a podcast. Then cool stuff like this happens.
Just kidding kind of I remember the beginning of 2 kicking my ass until I got into a roll.
Actually restarted the third game today after realizing I didn't give it a shot yet and I'm really enjoying it. I think I just needed a break from the Souls games.
