I can't lay out roads for shit
The disaster stuff is really cool so far and infinitely more interesting than the snow stuff. Building shelters and sending all your citizens to the shelters when its incoming. Water storage facilities. Preemptive technology like firewatch towers, seismic machiens, and your disaster response unit that will go clear out destroyed buildings to find survivors as well as the water pump station that'll pump flood water out quicker.
And since they added in-game radio you'll get a radio style interruption during the song with warnings of a disaster coming if you have the preemptive technology which is really cool.

Keep meaning to buy and play Skylines but sim games seem like such a timesink, even to learn the basics
It's actually pretty easy to learn the basics of. If you want to get more complex then it takes some more effort. There's also mods that make it easier. The real difficulty of the game is road management more than anything.
It's kind of why I wish CO would just integrate several important must-have mods into the base game so it doesn't intimidate people as much. A lot of the mods are just straight up quality of life improvements rather than alternatives.
The rescue helicopters they added are awesome too

By FootballFan Go To PostWhat are some single player, 3-8 hour long games on PC that you m8s would recommend
Is this the right thread to ask
Hyper light drifter should be around 5 to 10 hours, depending on how bad you are at the game I supose. Very cool and good.
Soma should also be around 8 hours, and is great horror.
Shorter games but always very low price and so worth it: The Stanley Parable, to the moon & Undertale. The stanley parable is just brilliant, and I dont want to say too much about it. To the moon is very story driven and barely has gameplay, but if you are a bit open to that kind of stuff it's great. Undertale gets a lot of hate for how it looks... and ehm... I understand that to some degree. But it does also remind me quite a lot of Earthbound/Mother 3 more than a few times, which makes it worth it.

Unfortunately I seriously doubt he'll get to make a 2nd season for D4 (fucking cliffhangers), but cool that he's back.
DAY437. Finally I opened my own studio "White Owls Inc" in Osaka. I can say "I AM BACK!!". #whiteowls #SweryIsBack

Tomba 2 was pretty cool.
I couldn't play Deadly Premonition, but I did love watch GB play it.
If one of them is not on sale I recommend waiting a little, they go on sale all the time. But especially to the moon, stanley parable and Undertale are so fucking worth trying out, without being a big time investment.

Thanks m8
Will look into them

Damn man. Afterbirth + is frustrating af. Some of these rooms are just not fun to play through. Strolled into a room full of shit flying across the screen, with a bunch of stone dickheads that do nothing but get in the fucking way and block shots, while a portal spawns the very worst of hell to kill the fuck out of you. The last area is just a rehash of all of the other stages, and so is the new final (what I assume to be final) boss.
I'm amazed at how far the community has grown over the years. The original events were much smaller in scale. You had handfuls of people in a small ass room. Now, it's crazy.
By Kibner Go To PostAwesome Games Done Quick just raised over $2M for the first time. It goes to cancer research. I don't know when they started, but their event in 2011 raised "only" $50K (according to one of the donation messages I heard today).

My 3TB external HDD for my XB1 apparently died....
Forced to use the 500GB internal. I've got 16 games installed including BF1, GTA V, Halo 5. The latter approaching 100GB. It's not a lot of space but for the average person I guess its....ok? Does the average gamer have 15+ games?

Everybody's got Gold or PS+, so that cap gets hit for sure. Eventually you have to start making hard choices about what to keep.
By RobNBanks Go To Posti have 3 games between my ps4/xb1. gears, halo and destiny
Holy shit. You are that actual guy that gets referenced in every mass market sales argument. You should buy a sports game on the way to your next kegger.

This is good. You're out, never go back in. Learn a language. Travel, see the world.
I'm gonna go try & hit level 17 in Phantasy Star II.
By Smokey Go To PostTrying to convince myself that getting re7 is a good ideaEh.
I'm not feeling it.
Should have just called it Resident Evil and reboot the series.
By Smokey Go To PostTrying to convince myself that getting re7 is a good idea
Do it for the culture, witcho scurry ass.
The leaked footage looks amazing.
Ordered Re7 earlier
Plan to play it through with my brother like I did Until Dawn. Expect it won't flow as well as a viewer though, since it seems much more based on peering into every nook and cranny

On Jim Sterling's latest video, he pitted Nintendo of America against Nintendo of Japan so that when NoA tried to monetize the video, NoJ stopped them, both using their automated copyright infringement service:
By Smokey Go To PostI'd be going in pretty spoiler free. Ain't seen shit about re7 outside of a trailer
Who's doing vr
wish I could somehow rent a VR setup just for RE7 and take it straight back
nope, sold my dev kit a while back
the VR is apparently exclusive to PS4 for a while right? for re7
do you have vr smokey?

Nah
I had a preorder for it but cancelled at the last minute. I haven't heard about the exclusivity but it wouldn't surprise me coming from Capcom. Same with the Rift. Got cold feet on the tech atm
I just can't do Persona 5 at launch. I finished 4 Golden last winter (so I skipped the Japanese launch in September), I'm at the end of 3 portable now...I need some time. Those games are so damn long they can be pretty easy to burn out on.
I think everybody does. VR was the slam dunk can't-miss future until it actually happened. Most of the time I forget it exists, the only major pub it seems to get is Oculus doing something crooked or racist.

Demos for watch dog 2 and rise of tomb raider are out on PSN.
Both games are probably garbage but I'm hoping demos get resurrected. Don't call it a comeback!

I don't think most people have the space to make VR worth it. The problem with rich people is they think everyone owns a million dollar mansion where we all have the room for indoor basketball courts.

By livefromkyoto Go To PostWatch Dogs 2 is going to make a nice $9 purchase during an off-month PSN sale one day.

last one i fell for was bioshock
"but the original was a classic!"
"but infinite is amazing"
its trash. all of it. and i've been jaded ever since *shakes fist at cloud*
Infinite was an amazing game that was stretched out about 6-7 hours too long because people would have complained it was too short. The original was...a neat setting and like 3 really cool cutscenes.
Man I hated Bioshock gunplay lol. One of my old roommates was playing it and I used to watch...
paltry. And the story. Reminded me of that RTS game where you could put an army together by piecing together abominations out of different animals. Neat, but why.

The gunplay did indeed suck. Infinite made up for it with the incredible setting & storytelling. Those painterly backdrops, barbershop quartet versions of God Only Knows, the mind-bending plot, the game as commentary on the co-option of religion in the conception of America and the messianic movements of the 19th century as a reaction against modernity...I have a hard time coming up with games that did a better job in the story & setting departments.
By Smokey Go To Postlol
Why? The game will no doubt be stiff-ass mannequin fighting like all Netherrealm games, but that trailer was pretty hype.
