FF15 being a part of this flash sale has me feeling some type of way. It looks fun from what I've seen my roommate play, but I got enough games on my plate at the moment. Plus the person I trust most when it comes to games is telling me to avoid at all costs, lol.
I'm playing ff15 right now it's... weird. Idk if I'm missing something but the combat plays like a shitty action game and it's so hectic that I don't know what's going on half the time. Everything else about the game is pretty good though.
By Retro Go To PostMuramasa with all the DLC episodes is on sale for like 10.50.
I already got it as part of PS Plus. Tbh I find Vanillaware games kinda boring.
Geralt is as complex as you make him. Some of the DLC toys with his character. I have no strong opinion of Ciri, but I enjoyed Triss and the Novigrad plots, which made the romance plot more interesting.
I'll probably get a Switch just for that rerelease of Splatoon
I liked that game a lot. I'm sure I'll find other stuff in the future as well but that's awful tempting. And If I can get a new Animal Crossing? Justified.

You wanna know what's been ruining online FPSes for years and no ones said shit about it?
Quick Melee. You wanna know why most shotguns aren't viable? Quick melee. You wanna know why you get killed by dudes with bad aim? Quick Melee. Why the fuck does every shooter need quick melee? Make it a fucking commitment. You want to melee? You got to pull out your weapon.

what's the last really popular fps with one-hit melee? COD took it out a while back, BF doesn't do it, last I played Overwatch, that didn't have it either.
shotguns are super effective in BF1 and Black Ops 3.

Yeah, Overwatch has a quick melee and it isn't op or anything. It does like, at most, 10% of someone's life.
Titanfall 2 has a quick melee that one hit kills. The registration on it is all kinds of inconsistent but killing with it always feels cheap and unrewarding.
I used to love knife running in CO, was the only thing I did.
Why complain about it when you can shoot me from a distance.
Just learn to shoot better brah, there's no recoil so it should be easy.

Further Astroneer thoughts:
The survival aspect is mostly in your ability to harvest energy to power objects or in your ability to keep tethered. You can build a a filter to attach to your backpack, which filters the air into oxygen but it appears the filters have a limited resource themselves. After awhile, they wear out and vanish. I've had my tethers in my backpack vanish as well, but I am not sure if thats decay or a bug. It is a pre-alpha.
Space exploration is not free moving like I had hoped. You pick planets/asteroids and click on landing spots. No free space exploration. Maybe this will be added in, but right now it doesn't seem an intended-to-be part of the system.
The world of Astroneer seems set in near future where NASA didn't give up on sending people into space. All the tech in the game looks like Moon Landing era stuff. You find fallen satellites, space stations and debris on the planet. Alien life is extremely simple. Mostly sarlacc pitt mouths and poisonous plants.
Seeing as the game keeps the survival aspect chill, I would beef up its space exploration. Add maybe more alien life and try to put in some free roaming space exploration with small asteroids and space beacons. They could increase the survival and alien life in one by creating hostile creatures and weapons.
I also have not figured out how the online co-op works at all. Will have to google that. I'm about to fuel up my space lander and rocket back to an asteroid planet I visited to retrieve an unknown object I left there. I couldn't place it on my lander before, but now I've built a storage space and crane arm.

By data Go To PostHow does the Switch stack up to the Ouya?
Its Antutu score of 13443 and Basemark OS score of 270 match or beat the Nexus 7 tablet, although it fell short of devices like the LG Optimus G and Samsung Galaxy Note II on Basemark OS.

Better than Ouya, but that doesn't say much since that runs on a Tegra 3, which is quite old.
It's basically their exit from traditional home consoles. This is the their new handheld more than their successor to the Wii U. That's how I'm looking at it anyway because third parties aren't going to be there except for the studio's that are already established on the 3DS. Those guys are probably going to do well if this thing can find it's footing in Japan.
Remasters from their catalog are honestly the most exciting thing for me. That's where power isn't really going to be an issue and the benefits of being mobile seem like a strength.

2017 is gonna be the year where I take less risks on my game puchases. I bought a shit ton of stuff in 2016 that I still haven't gotten around to and honestly probably won't. Need to diversify my hobbies more.
The mobile mode specs are pretty terrible though. I think its GPU clockspeed is half of the iPhone 7 and 200Mhz less than the iPad Air 2 which came out in 2014.
EDIT: Looks like the iPhone 5S GPU ran at 450Mhz using the PowerVR G6430.

Fair enough. I can understand finding them repetitive.
I just picked it up myself though. Recently completed Odin Sphere over the summer and enjoyed it a lot so now I'm gonna give this a shot.

By masud Go To PostI don't understand why people expected Nintendo to release a portable Xbox one for 200 to 300$.Portable Xbox One? Naw. Docked? Yea. But what we're getting in mobile form looks to be less performance than 2-3 year old phone hardware.
I don't get why people act like an Xbox One is some sort of powerhouse tech emblematic of modern hardware.
It's not, at all, which is why people that wish Nintendo would be a bit more competitive graphics wise hoped it would at least meet that low bar.
Hoping the Switch is $200 or less by the time I buy it because BoTW is the first interesting Zelda since WW or TP.
If the Switch is $299 or *gasp* more than that, Nintendo has some explaining to do when the PS4 Slim can be had for $249.
It's a hardware launch, so they're going to find a way to get you for five bills on day one with games and accessories. The fall gets interesting again because it's another hardware launch and they'll probably drop the price.
By data Go To PostI don't get why people act like an Xbox One is some sort of powerhouse tech emblematic of modern hardware.
It's not lol....that's why the Switch should at least be able to match it...3 years after its release
i don't think that's too much to ask, but Nintendo thinks so
By data Go To PostYou wanna know what's been ruining online FPSes for years and no ones said shit about it?One button melee and one button grenades is the absolute worst. I think it worked fine in Halo, the game that gets credited with popularizing it, because they weren't OHK. Pre-nading was important so you can just turn the corner and one shot the guy. Every other game that tried to use those pretty much sucks, because in shit like CoD it's OHK.

As someone that grew up with Socom, I've always despised melee. One of the reasons I think Gears 4 is the best Gears, because the melee is absolutely useless. In fact you put yourself at a disadvantage for using it because unless you down your opponent, the recovery animation is so long you'll just get one shot.
Can someone help with Gief's last trial in SFV? No idea when I'm supposed to start inputting the last attack, plus if I do get it it's usually late and on the ground.

By data Go To PostThe Geralt romance stuff and the writing of Ciri all around are sub-Bioware writing. Citi is basically an uber mary sue and Geralt is the kind of male fantasy that would make a harem anime blush. It really brings down the rest of the writing.
Witcher 3 should have starred Roche or Iorveth. Much better characters.
