I think the timer missions were a great idea that could have been done better... I don't mind the base stuff tho
An entertaining story about a plucky underdog soldier from the original xcom: http://xcomtales.atspace.com/PatrickStewart/PSindex.htm
I read it years and years ago and it's awesome.

xcom 2 not launching with those mods enabled :L Grimy's mod said it needed 2 other mods to run properly, so i go those too.
Moved my PS3 FF XIV license to the PS4. Interested in seeing how it looks and performs on the pro. It was dogshit on PS3. If it is good, I might buy the Heavensward PS4 license.
BTW, it is really dumb how you have to buy a client/license for each different platform you want to play the game on, even if they all use the same subscription account. Fucking Squeenix.

It's beautiful on the PS4. The world was the biggest attraction in that game tbh.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostIt's beautiful on the PS4. The world was the biggest attraction in that game tbh.I normally play it on PC and love the game, but haven't played it in a few months. The world and music are just about the best. Being able to do everything on a single character also rules. Being able to do all content with any class is another good thing.
The grind for the relic weapon step late last year/early this year fucking suuuuccckkkeeed and was a major part of why I stopped. I only have one max level class, but have all the reputation maxed out (except moogles, and I'm getting close with that one). Played around with a good bit of crafting. Not much gathering, though.
The endless dungeon they introduced in a patch a while back is a great time waster and a pretty fun way to "demo" different classes while gaining XP and progress towards a good weapon.
e: It's my second favorite mmo, behind Asheron's Call and only slightly ahead of Star Wars Galaxies (pre-combat patch), and Vanguard.
Elder Scrolls Online is free this weekend on PS4. I somehow have the game. Don't remember buying it :x . Digital version too. Must've been a sale.
Heard it's kind of good

Speaking of Asheron's Call, you can buy the game and a lifetime subscription for a total of $10. They still have servers up and are working to release a build and installer so that people can easily create their own private servers.
That game had the best MMO world ever. I also love how it had no classes but just skills, kind of like an Elder Scrolls game. The thing came out in 1999 and had night/day cycles, weather cycles, completely open overworld (portals brought you into dungeons but there was no concept of "zones", just complete open sandbox), being able to dodge projectiles aimed at you, and so much more. If it had come out six months before EQ instead of the other way around, I'm convinced the modern MMO world would look completely different.

Lol, ff xiv base off the store is like 13GB. Install it and launch. Internal patcher has to download all the patches since April 21st, 2014, which is another 13GB. Squeenix and Sony make such a lovely couple.
Not buying Hitman season 2 anytime soon after they put the game 50% off a week after the last episode came out.

Last two levels were too dope.
The best part of Planet Coaster so far has been the very generous placement. I'm so used to these games sticking so strictly to the grid and that nothing can interfere with the grid. Planet Coaster basically says 'fuck that you can put anything anywhere as long as it doesn't break physics.' Like you can put a barrel on a house if you want, you can put an animatronic on the peak of a roller coaster.
I had a cavern area and needed to put in a bathroom but the bathroom was way too big. The game basically accounted for that and let me built the bathroom into the cavern without mangling the cavern

follow the path and you'll arrive at some sorta clinic, look for an envelope/invitation on one of the treatment tables.
it unlocks a whole new AMAZING optional area
Got some insight stolen, killed the freaky hunter lady on my first try and this is one hell of a shortcut. Crazy how connected the world is.

Dark Phaze dont read this yet read the item's description. Creepy! Remember the fat guys/executioners with axes just before the Witch of Hemwick? Head there and stand next the monument for something awesome
it's one of the toughest areas in the game so you can save it for a couple of bosses later.
im at the forbidden forest, stepped on something which sent some trap flying down into me for the death. I got to the lamp before that though, nice place to stop

1 of 2 things:
either random green/purple flickering or the avenger stuff not loading properly. Both fixed with restarting the game, though. I will persist.
By Ciaran Go To Postis XC2's dlcs any good?do NOT get the alien hunter DLC
or is it one of those one mission type of deals
or do, but its aggressively terrible. you get some unique (for the standard game at least) equipment, but what the game does is introduce what are basically enemy hero units. now... these guys don't stick around long, maybe 2 full turns of each mission that they randomly appear in. They have a LOT of health and armor. Fortunately, their health carries over each time you encounter them until they die. So you may run into the Super Viper in a mission and only do 5 damage but remove his armor before he escapes - but in the next mission that he appears, he'll be in the exact same state so he's easier to finish off.
What makes them so terrible is that they react to EACH action your squad takes. If you tell a guy to reload, they will shoot. If you tell a guy to move, they will bind them. If you tell a guy to overwatch, they will hit them with a fucking freeze grenade.
Its not hard to imagine yourself in the middle of a VIP extraction mission and seeing your team absolutely shredded. And not even in a "oh, I missed a 80% chance shot" kind of way. You're guaranteed to get fucked by it at least once or twice.
Shen's gift DLC is alright. Its only one mission (kinda fun, but only once), but it introduces mech units. And mech units never really felt as awesome in XC2 compared to XC1.

I seriously doubt it was on purpose. They've probably made about $15 off Wii U all year, I'm sure if they knew they could sell tons of Classics they'd be desperate to do so. Who thought it would be this big? Emulators & virtual console are already out there, and there have been cheap classic gaming consoles at Wal Mart for years that nobody cares about.

They had to see the response when they announced it
Of course it was on purpose. When has Nintendo ever made enough of a product? They're in the business of creating false demand and appealing to scalpers.
the NES mini is not meant to bring in big profits, it's meant to keep the name out there, free PR in a holiday where they have nothing else, convert people into buying Switch and or the mobile games in spring.

Nintendo making things to not bring in profits? OK.
If they need to rely on a 30 year old system to stay relevant they should just get out while they still can.

Enh, do they really? I think they're more known for being cautious with production numbers, since they're not the corporate juggernauts that Sony & Microsoft are. What have they put out that was supply constrained, in a case where we could read that as an attempt to create demand (i.e., not Twilight Princess GC)? The only things I can think of are the Wii & Amiibos. Given that the controller was only revealed like 5 months before launch, I doubt they could have known just how insane the demand for it would be, tooled up their entire supply chain and reacted in time. I don't think there's that much to be gained by missing out on cashing in on a fad during a holiday season, because next time around it might not be there. Amiibos I'd be more willing to believe they constrained, simply because inducing rarity makes way more sense in the collectible market.
But the Classic? They almost didn't even release it in Japan. I think they just didn't see it being this popular. It's not as simple as "okay, make more this month," because if demand tails off you've already put in orders and signed contracts with suppliers & assembly months in advance for months into the future. I'm sure they're kicking themselves right now, this thing won't be in as high demand 2 or 12 months from now, this was the time to sell them.
I think they're more known for being cautious with production numbersThat is why preorders exist, or at least should in theory. To see how much interest there is in your product.
By Rob Go To PostThat is why preorders exist, or at least should in theory. To see how much interest there is in your product.
You can't do that with hardware. Stuff that's hitting store shelves now started being manufactured months ago. You can't just say "oh hey, preorders look good, let's contract & tool up a new factory + increase supply chain bandwidth" 2 months before launch when the numbers start rolling in. Especially since launch is always peak demand. Companies meet it by stockpiling months in advance, not increasing bandwidth. That only happens when they're sure of increased long term sales.
By Xpike Go To Posttried to get an nes classic shit was completely sold outWho honestly thought the NES Classic was going to sell gangbusters like this though? Half those games are available on the Virtual Console, and have been for longer than the Wii U's lifespan.
