also, I've put a few hours into Halycon 6 now and my opinion hasn't changed. Its a great game - even better when you consider its only 15 bucks. Building officers with ship and ground combat in mind, each kind of combat requiring a dedicated investment is really cool. You might have the best scout ship captain in the world... who's deathly afraid of ever stepping foot on the ground. There's a bit too much reliance on officers though. You just need them for everything. Ships, ground combat (which includes clearing space on your starbase AND away missions), upgrading various structures on your starbase and on colonies, upgrading your ships, any random rogue-like event that pops up, etc. Its just too much reliant on WHERE they are at all times. It wouldn't be so bad if there was just a tiny bit of emphasis removed from them. I spent a good amount of playtime gridlocked because I needed my best captain fighting and winning story missions instead of upgrading stuff back at base.
Another XCom2 comparison - you know how in the Guerilla Tactics School, you need to have a soldier of a certain rank to access certain upgrades? Imagine if you actually had to remove that ranking soldier from the field for extended time to unlock that upgrade as well. Its just ...a bad design choice imo
The economy is a bit weird as well, it could very well be my inexperience but it seems plainly unbalanced in the early - mid game imo.
But what matters most is that this game is fun and full of charm everywhere. The music is GREAT. I find myself not wanting space battles to end because some of the tracks are so damned good. Space combat when you're matched with an enemy in your general weightclass is amazingly tense. Ground combat... it goes from a piece of cake when you're prepared for it with your best 3 man squad of captain, to holy shit we're all fucked when its just your science captain and two red shirts.
There a bit of quality of life considerations that should've been made imo. The starmap needs a zoomout function, your own fleets could use some color or better ways to draw distinction, there are times where you'll be clicking way more than you should in a 2016 game... maybe it'll get patched.
But again, the game is plainly fun. I really recommend it. Its almost a 4x game, its almost a roguelike, its almost xcom - but its not quite any of those things. If you like any of those kinds of games you'll probably like Halycon 6 a lot.
By blackace Go To Postdamn you… I am trying to limit my buying for the rest of the year… I might not make itevery flaw i've seen in the game i laid out

Bunch of changes.
Hardcore Mode in. Operations modified.
Waiting to get my PC back up and running before really getting in. I got it in X1 and I just can't rock BF with a controller no matter how hard I try.

Ubi and Sony will probably apologize and give that guy some free games.
The fact Ubi is already preparing a patch is an admission of guilt.

I started playing Valkyria Chronicles II. The first one was my favourite rpg of last gen, but the move to PSP + generic elite high school (excuse me, elite military academy) anime setting & worse character art put it firmly in the "enh, one day" category. When it showed up on sale for $5 this summer I picked it up.
I kinda hate blurry, grainy PSP visuals, but surprisingly it doesn't look bad on the Vita screen. Aside from necessary changes due to the interface the gameplay is exactly the same. And the characters are the shallow assembly line anime stuff that I usually hate, but for some reason it's not bothering me too much here.
Mission areas are small because the PSP had like 12k of RAM, but I actually think that works alright here, for the same reason it did in Peace Walker. Bite size missions are a lot easier to pick up & play and just offer less mental friction all around...some of those later missions in the first game could take like 30-45 minutes.
So far, I'm a lot happier with the game than I thought I'd be. It doesn't capture all the magic of the first game, but it uses enough of the same parts to get close.
This reminds me of the time that I drew a crummy picture of a boat on the Assassin's Creed III Miiverse. (It was a dull Sunday afternoon in July, don't judge me). I got a warning from Nintendo for posting unmarked spoilers. The boat is on the back of the fucking box.

your #1 objective now is to get the hell outta this place. Those guys are collecting human sacrifices for..something...
BUT you could kill that optional boss now if you want. He's a bit hard for low levels and aggressive as fuck, but his weakness is his limbs. A few hits and he loses balance and collapses on the ground
one of those fights where wearing resistance gear is crucial. Henryk's Hunter is best here, but you only get that set helping Elieen the Crow and you never mentioned doing that 🤔 so go for the next best set I guess
Edit: oooh btw, save the NPC in the basement! She talks to you if you wear a priest outfit/Healing Church gear, which you find at the end of the road to right IIRC.
lmao, man, this game has so many surprised. I did meet Eileen(i think). I didn't attack her either just talked and she gave me a gesture. What do I do to help her/get her loot?

Speak to her again after you go back to the Cathedral Ward. She'll ask you specifically NOT to help her in her 1v1 fight with a rogue hunter at Father Gas' battleground...but you should because that hunter is gonna push her shit in and can even take you two both at once 😂
also killing the Witch of Hemwick makes her disappear (area left of Amelia)

R6 Siege topped records again during the recent free weekend. The new operators look great.
Hibana has a grenade launcher that acts like a thermite charge. I think she can fire three charged shots which equal six pellets to destroy a large enough portion of a reinforced wall to enter or fire them individually or in charges of two to create kill holes. I'm happy to have another reinforcement breacher besides Thermite, but its going put a LOT of pressure on the defense. Her pellets are jammed by mute and bandit however.
Echo has a drone that can cling to a wall and cloak, and shoots darts that really disorients the enemy. At first I thought this might be a bit trash--but a drone for the defense is super useful, and will be incredibly powerful in the secure and hostage modes where he can camp the objective and disorient anyone who enters. Going to guess that the gadget can still be seen by IQ.
Blackbeard/IQ/Hibana/Thermite meta with two of whoever else you want. You're going to be able to create some mean killhole combos with Hibana + Blackbeard.
The defense needs more really.

Battlefield 1 running on PlayStation 4 Pro offers a tangible performance advantage over standard PS4 owners, potentially offering a gameplay advantage to owners of Sony's upgraded console hardware. In our tests, there's anything up to a 47 per cent frame-rate advantage in scenarios where the Frostbite engine is under the greatest stress and It is a strong upgrade for Pro, but does it upset the concept of a level playing field for console multiplayer?

By Dark PhaZe Go To Post*sigh*Playing defense is boring as shit and seems like it's impossible to win. Tachanka/Kapkan are absolutely useless, Mute/Blitz are made useless since Thatcher usually gets picked. You basically need to pick the same 5 operators each time, while almost every attacker can be extremely useful.
