Beat Gears 4.
Ace campaign. Final boss was pretty grand, I'm surprised at the way they made you go about it. And that ending....what a twist. Some bad difficulty spikes here and there, and who thought it was a good idea to throw fuking Horde in campaign? Those were the weak points, but overall I was really surprised. Epic Gears -> The Coalition Gears > Bungie Halo > 343 Halo imo.

Those Horde sections were garbage because like actual Horde, a lot of it is just a waste of fucking time. Then if you play on Insane like me, hope you enjoy having more time wasted. I can't imagine playing that campaign on Insane on consoles. At least on PC I would load in a few seconds, Xbox was more like 30 seconds.
Hitman on ps4 would be so much better with improved load times
It really prevents me from playing outlandishly and taking risks. Still a great game, but it's an issue.

I wanted to keep it going with the old-school platformers, so I went back & finished New Adventure Island. I don't know why, but there's something about the Turbografx that makes me happy. It occupies this perfect spot between the 8 & 16-bit aesthetics, and the sound chip always sounds wonderful. But man, that game gets hard. Like, after world 4 it was just a process of how many times I was willing to run into that brick wall of difficulty until I broke through. Still, great game.
Really? I like the Gears games too, they're great comfort food and perfect couch co-op. But above any Halo? Wow.

Speedrun trophies for reasonably long games are a pain the balls

By jjasper Go To PostTrying to figure out what to get on this target sale. Think it will probably be something for the following:on a sale? You can't go wrong with any of those then lol. I've only tried TF2, XCOM 2 and Deus Ex and I liked all three of them (to varying degrees)
Dragon Quest Builders
Titanfall 2
XCOM 2
Skyrim (never played it originally)
Tomb Radier 2
Deus Ex
Any opinions on these?
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostBack at it later, but I'm disappointed I couldn't find another lamp.now we're talking BABY!
there's no lamp, but you can open the 'shortcut' gate next to the first lamp once you clear out the bridge. There's one on the bridge too, but you're gonna have to kill a tough optional boss to gain access to it.
but killing him is worth it, because you'll get an OP sword (thats good for ALL builds)
the Threaded Cane is fine fine choice, but make sure you level up Skill now and not Strength. With the cane, you're going the 'fast and agile' weapons route, so you'll be dual wielding shit in no time ;)

I typed it weird.
I meant to day that the transition of Gears from Epic to The Coalition is alot better than the transition of Bungie Halo to 343 Halo. Halo 4 was 343 first game and it was trash. Gears 4 is a much better first game from a new studio.

Continuing my ongoing quest to clean out the Wii U fridge, I got back into Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. Jumping back into a metroidvania after not touching it for 6 months is the worst, I ran around lost for more than an hour before figuring out what was going on & what I needed to do. On the plus side, this game still feels awesome to play. Whip combat + metroidvania design is the best of both worlds. And I like what they did with the card system, creating a lot of interesting power ups for the whip stretching the conventions of the series.
Ah, that makes sense. I only played through the Halo 4 campaign so I thought it was alright, just not really doing anything new. Like, the set pieces were great but I can't believe they thought up 4 new enemies and called it a day.
Possibly? They're patching stuff like Last of Us Remastered & Knack. Bloodborne would seem to be a good candidate for it, the only issue is that it wasn't developed by a Sony team so they might not be able to compel them if they'd rather just move on.

Wii U production ending this week

So ~13.36m consoles sold. What a fuking bomb. I don't know who at Nintendo thought this was a good idea along with the horrible name. The echo chamber is too strong over there.
But Switch will be different amirite
Also
$249 with 2 games, extra controller, and a UHD player....👀

Hrrmmmm... should I hold off until Scorpio or jump on that OneS deal? I don't really care about any Xbox games but having a cheap UHD player would be nice since the fucking PS4 Pro won't do it for some stupid reason.
It's by far the cheapest UHD player, so I'd try and jump on it. As an overall media box, X1 is really solid.
Best Buy has a lot of 4k TV Xbone packages going right now too that have the system priced well below retail. Two games and a controller is a new level though at that price.
I'm just shocked to be in a world where Microsoft has a more capable media player in their console than Sony.

How much would a capable drive have added to the PS4 Pro price?

They said some BS about streaming is the future or something like that. The adoption rate of UHD would pick up...if there were cheaper players available. I don't see how being able to watch UHD movies, play "4k" games, and stream content all on one box is a bad thing. MS was able to get it on the X1s and the system is still $300. Not including it on your "Pro" console was a bad decision.
But this is the same company that gave us shit wifi, refuses to make a premium DS4, no EA Access option, mods etc etc . They seem to enjoy making decisions for potential customers.
Do people ever actually legally download films?
Hear a tonne about streaming being the future, but until speed improves surely downloading will be good enough in the interim? No drive, not reliant on speed, ownership. Caps would be the issue though I guess, how much data does the average 2-hour 4k film use?

By Hitch Go To PostDo people ever actually legally download films?I have. Amazon had a couple of movies I wanted where the price was right. Feels nice not having to rely on an internet connection for them either.

EDIT: They're not 4K or any shit like that, but mainly because 1) that amount of quality isn't important enough for me, and 2) even if it was, my laptop ain't shit
Time and sales will tell if it was a bad decision. Even if it added $15 to the price, that can make a significant difference for a device that people are already unsure about. We'll never know how much impact the lack of UHD drive will have though really.
Decided not to get one until my discount goes up to 20%, which will probably be next year. By then we should have a decent idea of how much of a difference there is between Pro and regular.

Well the 4k blu rays can hold from 66 to 100gb. Obviously though, that could be compressed quite a bit, without noticing it too much. Not sure exactly for an average 2 hour movie, but according to google 4K should be roughly 4.5 times the size of a 1080p video and about 10 times the size of a 720p video. I would rather just buy a 4k movie, than download it tbh. Good quality 1080p download is already fairly big.

Are you going to buy enough UHD BR's to justify the cost?
By Lupercal Go To PostAre you going to buy enough UHD BR's to justify the cost?I bought several dozen blu-rays over the years and my only player was a PS3, so yeah, I probably would.

I would buy an UHD player when all the BR's that get out are noticeably better.
What I've seen of the current ones, they aren't worth the extra cost.
Sony don't even have a stand alone UHD player on the market yet. I'm sure that factored into their decision.

if the rewards from going from destiny 1 to destiny 2 aint really shit in terms of carry over i'll finally be able to change my name to PhaZe like a proper gentleman on PSN

So Gears 4 is officially dead on PC. At first it was possible to play TDM and Execution (but none of the other 6 game modes) and then sometime last week, Execution became impossible. Now TDM won't find a match after 30 minutes of searching.
Shortest lifespan of a video game ever? Battleborn probably lasted longer

isnt gears 4 crossplat for everything but non ranked games though? there should be plenty of xbox players to play with
regarding bloodbourne--ran around as much as I was willing to...got about 8000 souls or whatever...probably not a lot to some but I thought it was a decent amount for a low level player and I don't want to continue further without being able to level up using these
not sure where else I'll be able to go though and its not giving me an option to do anything but fortify weapons at the hunters dream :/
got a new armor set though
edit: only place I can think of that I haven't gone to is the area past the two werewolf monsters on the bridge but they are too strong for me to deal with
