*sigh* Just learned how to get my .icm profiles to reset to the proper profile after a game that loads it own (DOOM) is closed.
1) Go to Color Management -> Advanced tab -> Change system defaults
2) Add your preferred profile for each monitor in the new "Color Management - System Defaults" window that pops up.
3) Close out of everything and load up something that was resetting them earlier.
Color profile management can be some really annoying shit. I think I have everything working again.
Using D50 as my white point now for the warmer colors as they cause less eye strain after an extended amount of time. Created a D65 color profile, too, for if I ever need to make a graphic for work and need to compare.

Yeh, fucking wizards. Glad to see the PC port is great, but going to have to give it a hard pass when i build a new comp because of that windows store fuckery.
Have you seen the boiling piss over at GAF over the game getting an 85 on metacritic? Holy shit that's not a bad score, you wastemen.
some people think a game isn't good unless it gets 90+
it's not like those who think this are entirely stupid, it's just that gaming press has been absolute shit for a long time. we don't (usually) see movie fans disappointed with scores below 90

That's like 3 stars out of 5 right there lol
I really don't get the point of reviews. You should know what games you like, which games you're interested in and which games you absolutely hate.
I would never play something like The Last Guardian. I don't care if it got 100s from literally everyone, it's not my type of game. On the other hand I've enjoyed every open world game I've ever played. No matter how shitty, I always enjoy them. Watch Dogs 2 could get 70s and I would buy that over that TLG. If there's a game you're interested in, why go to a review? Twitch and youtube are such a big part of gaming now, just watch someone play the game for 10-15 minutes to get an idea of whether it's something you would like or not.

Reviews help me widen what games I play.. while I don't play FPS that often I took a flyer on Borderlands because of the reviews talking about the RPG elements and it turned into one of my favorite games... 10 mins of gameplay doesn't always tell you about the game...
If I see a game that I might not ever play because of what kind of game it is (like an FPS or RTS) getting universal great scores, I might check reviews to see what is great about it.

So far my impressions of Mafia 3 are a cool fucking game with a shitty fucking PC port. And I'm not even THAT bothered by the 30 FPS which they're supposed to patch this weekend.
The game is blurry as shit. It gives me a headache to look at.
Downloading a community made Shader helped quite a bit though. Game's got a hell of a style.

From the impressions Mafia 3 seems like a game with a good story, but has repetitive gameplay/missions after a while.
I played a good bit of it. I didn't want to burn myself out when the full product came out because these kinds of games are all about the discovery but what I played of it felt good. I play pretty much all the extreme sports types games that come out and the comparisons to SSX need to stop. I don't think Ubi makes them but people see a snowboarding game and they instantly compare it to SSX because most didn't play stuff like SNOW(which it feels like a better version of SNOW). You wouldn't compare THPS to Skate despite them both being about skateboarding. And since I'm on the subject of Skate, that's what the game reminds me the most of. I don't mean it controls like Skate and I don't necessarily mean if you love Skate you'll love this because I don't think it's necessarily true. It vibes like Skate. It has a similar mentality to Skate, at least for me. It feels like something where you're not being thrown the theatrics of a THPS or SSX game. There's not a million fireworks going off because you did a trick, despite that being the most Ubisoft game.
Like Skate was for me, it feels like something I can just drop into and have fun with. If you can enjoy something like exploring the mountain and finding lines and seeing how fast you can go without losing it, if you enjoyed the Skate mechanics of 'I'm going to keep doing this spot until I'm happy with my run of it' like a real skateboard, then I think this game will have huge appeal to people liek that. It's a very fun, relaxing experience. It kind of reminds me of Forza Horizon a little bit too. But with mountains and snowboarding. It's also not going to appeal to people that need a little more than just nature as you can't really go beyond the environments of 'mountain' for a snowboarding/skiing/whatever else game.
Don't know if this breaks NDA because I'm speaking of it on the most vague term without going into mechanics but it's whatever if it is. I like it a lot. I don't know if it'll be for everyone, but I think it's a relaxing good time. One of those games I could play for a long time if just to repeatedly challenge myself to find new spots.

By Hitch Go To PostMafia 3 sounds far too close to Shadow of Mordor and Assassins Creed for my liking :(I don't know why. If anything, it's the opposite of those. Because it has a compelling story and characters.
Have to say I'm really enjoying Mafia 3 up to now.
The world, the music, the story even down to some of the sneaking kill animations are all fantastic.
Don't really have a major problem with it all.

By data Go To PostI don't know why. If anything, it's the opposite of those. Because it has a compelling story and characters.Sidequest design sounds repetetive as fuck, and necessary to advance the story
I'm confused; if a side quest is required to advance the story, then it isn't a side quest but part of the main quest.
By Kibner Go To PostI'm confused; if a side quest is required to advance the story, then it isn't a side quest but part of the main quest. You know what I mean. By the numbers, small missions with repeated objectives designed to either open up proper missions, or give you the xp needed to get through the game.
Its why I'd give Infamous: Second Son a 6 out of 10 at best. From what I've seen of Mafia 3, they at least attach a bit of story to these missions unlike Infamous though.

I haven't played the game or looked at any reviews for it and didn't know how side quests were required to continue the story in the game.

Except for the magic, the parry and the riposte. And the maneuvring when fighting more than one enemy. And the dodging of unblockable attacks. And the weapon/magic selection for different enemies. And the warping. And the MP management. And the summons. And the partner-moves.
I won't pretend that I wouldn't prefer to have direct control over each attack and face the option i want to block in, but it seems to have become a lazy criticism of the game that you can just stand there and autoattack/block your way through the game.
Watched the first 2 hours of Mafia 3
Main story looks badass. Firefights seem to go on for about 40% too long considering you'll be doing them throughout the game, if they occur as often as they do at the start.

It's the studio's first game and it's a big project. It shouldn't surprise anyone that they opted to ship a buggy game given how modern development works today. They'll just patch, patch, patch and then announce DLC.

Because 'I told you so!' is pretty much the gaf mantra, gaming or otherwise. Like that's the highlight of their whole day.

The fact that sales threads are by far the most popular "discussions" says all you need to know about that place. Nothing more than pseudo intellectuals playing Gordon Gekko with no skin in the game and nothing on the line other than their make believe internet cred.
They couldn't delay Mafia 3 a couple of months or whatever? It's not like the game's gonna do itself any favors by launching in this window anyway. And they might have been able to fix some of the more severe issues.
I get that it's repetitive, but if the story is good, which it seems to be by all accounts, then it's bearable.

Must say I am genuinely shocked at the atmosphere that's been managed to be built. Bought this game is impulsively today and it's buggy as hell but I really don't care (mafia 3)

I remember rumors that Rockstar had to come in and help them finish up.
