Yea, of course. He's the equipment manager and they are apparently long time friends since he came into the league.
I'd rather just stay in an organization where I'm winning and the coach/me have found my strengths and I contribute tons that way. Bonus points if the location is great. I realize that many a player don't follow this strat but that's how I'd roll. If when they decide I'm expendable, oh well that's how it goes but I'd tried to stay on personally.
By 3SidedPolygons Go To PostOn another note, why is Griffin having dinner with a staff member? Is that normal?Have you made friends at work? Why is this beyond the purview of an NBA star?
By reilo Go To PostI mean, the West has been dominant for over a decade and the stars haven't really shifted to the East besides Carmelo and that could be called a wash since Dwight moved West.
True but there wasn't a team that could go 70-12 with a core just entering their primes either.
Everybody else is older and their cores are weaker/maxed out.
Three second rule isn't a problem. Smart bigs can just shuffle their feet in and out of the paint. Some people want to say that defenses fronting the post entry pass is why the post game is gone, but that's a load of horseshit. People fronted Shaq and the Lakers just rotated ball and lobbed it over. Hell, watch Rondo and Cousins. Defense fronts him every game and he just takes the lob and scores.
I think the problem is that players in AAU don't learn how to post entry pass and they think ti's easy for some reason. It's really not. Horry was a master at it. A lot of players throw shit post entry passes and really aren't ridiculed for it.
As well, coaches aren't putting much thought into post play. I feel SVG understands the post game, but I don't think other coaches get into the angles and off-ball movement associated with a good post offense.
NBA needs to crack down on the amount of illegal screens and perimeter players shuffling their pivot feet before making a move. If the ball handler can wiggle around on the floor and dribble behind a slow moving screen then they're going to have a great advantage over the defender.

coaches get fired too much to use that strategy
By blackace Go To PostOffensive rebounding and pace of play would all change drastically.
the corner 3 only became a huge weapon recently. I would like to see the corner 3 moved out further…
But sticking two guys in the corner completely changes the game. The high screen and roll, the completely wide open rim that you can attack with the drive or the roll. It's not just about getting that shot, it's about what being able to stick two proficient shooters from the corner in the corner for 15 seconds allows you to do spacing wise.
Much of the arguments about the 3 second rule in the paint aren't just scoring. It potentially clogs up the paint slowing the game down. It makes offensive rebounding so damn easy and it makes it impossible to fight a guy for low post position because he can spend 15 seconds getting a proper position and seal going.
Sticking two guys in the corner has completely changed basketball. It's had as much effect on the game as a whole as individuals like Shaq or Hakeem did.
Sticking 2 guys in the corner IS modern basketball. PnR has always been around. Fast breaks have always been around. 2 Guys in the corner is the single biggest piece of the modern NBA.
By blackace Go To Postcoaches get fired too much to use that strategyThis is true lmao.
it doesn't make it easier to rebound or allow a skilled player to pivot pump his way to an unstoppable shot...

I don't punch friends I make at work. I was implying that maybe Blake is in the closet and this was closer to a lovers quarrel. Nothing wrong with that (other than him being an abusive partner of course), but that would seem more likely than him having dinner with a staff member who would piss him off enough to be chased out of the restaurant and attacked.

Melo not playing tonight. That knee acting up.
I thought about it after seeing this, it's a possibility. Maybe he has dinners with staff members and decides to beat them up over disagreements regarding equipment. I guess that works too, it's just so bizarre.

Yeah, weird conclusion to leap to but everyone has their own two cents I suppose.

I was messing around because of the whole "happy birthday" bit on twitter and then it going south for a reason no one knows about. Griffin might just be a total douche though, there's ample evidence to support this.

This is true. But again, it's just so bizarre.
Maybe it's just that the girl and I have been binge watching Scandal - and everything in Scandal points to a lovers quarrel lol.

So many attractive women to go around for those types and they date the same one. Sometimes I think about it too hard and wonder if it's a way to fuck the other dude.

When I was young I always assume they fell for the beautiful girls with great personalities..... and then I saw basketball wives and now I think they just date the beautiful girls who manage to be readily available to BBall players. Occasionally you get a Greg Anthony who marries a gorgeous Doctor but look at how he fucked that up.....
By etiolation Go To PostBlake's all star spot is likely gone, so grats to AD or Dame.
Oh shit yeah I hope AD gets it for the money reasons alone.

That's what always made me lol about some of the sexism inherent in the Basketball Wives stuff, it's a trade off, he fucks around but gets a family, she buys herself shit. Issues probably come up when that's just not fulfilling for either party anymore.
Knicks play OKC right? Yeah just rest Carmelo and take the L. I want 25+ minutes of Grant, Sasha, and O'Quinn/Seraphin.
By 33MillionDollarMen Go To PostHow do you feel about just widening the court in general? The athleticism in the game today is so much greater, I think this would be a fine rule. Make the 3pt arc an actual circle instead of a funky oval-like thing.

I think this is with almost 90% of players. A think a few are loyal, but those are usually the guy with a half dozen kids by the end of his career and a wife who travels with him.
So uh... is Griffin roid raging? He's been injured for a while, so maybe he was trying to take some steroids to heal faster. I don't know, it's just weird that he's punched a longtime friend, then followed him back outside to punch him again. As upset as I am with him, I'm even more confused as to how that even happened.

The Cousins/WCS combo has been very good. I think like +12 with a good defensive rating. Would be better of the guards could ever stop penetration.

first it was "team-related activity"
I asked who he punched.
Turns out he did in fact punch a person, twice.
