Really don't think we're in for a GK after everything Klopp has been saying, about GKs and about transfers. I don't really expect any first team transfers this window. Think Klopp is serious when he says he wants to work with the squad before dipping into the market.

He was among the best in the league here, but Barca is just another level.
The pressure at one of the biggest clubs is something else than Gladbach, both in the league and the CL.
So Bravo with alot more experience secured his spot and now Ter Stegen is left with CL games.

Not so suprising that a 23 year old guy who barely got any match practice doesn't always have an aura of safety.
If he get's to play on a constant basis again, he is far better than Mignolet on nearly all aspects.
Modern keeper with insane reactions at times.

He gained his reputation in the league here. In the nationalteam he didn't, because nearly every time Löw gave him a chance, he also experimented with the defensive lineup alltogether, which obviously didn't help.
He got the potential to be a world class keeper.
Killer7 once again got no clue, but this isn't new with players he doesn't follow and still got his opinion about it :P

I hope we don't sell Barta anytime soon. He's a good defender who fucks up on occasion. Pique used to be like that. Just needs more game time improve imo.

The good outweighs the bad so much that it shouldn't even be up for debate whether he'd be a good signing and improvement for Liverpool.

If we're going to do anything it'll be goalkeeper or central defence. I think timing will determine whether we sign Ter Stegen, as Klopp won't want to miss the boat in the summer when the bigger teams are willing to upgrade their goalkeeper (United will need to sign one, for example). Whilst I'm sure he's sincere when he says he doesn't like buying straight away, I also think he recognises that opportunities like this don't present themselves too often. And given his past he'll already have a forensic knowledge of Ter Stegen and his potential.

Just look at this Sane stuff; we've dawdled long enough to see City join the chase and thus palm us out of it. We cannot compete with these teams. Timing and context are everything.

But I agree that besides this the majority of his work will be done in the summer.

When ter stegen saves an aguero penalty to secure a 1-0 win vs man city and qualify Liverpool for the champions league, I'll come back here.

Lloris is better than Chesney by some margin.

And thus if he is that level I'll be very pleased. Mignolet is a decent goalkeeper - you cannot achieve 16 clean sheets in a calendar year without that standard - but he is below the level of Lloris/Cech/Courtois/De Gea/Hart which instantly puts us at a significant disadvantage when chasing the aspirations of the club.

I disagree. Bartra is a lost cause and should be moved to defensive mid, if he fails he should be sold.

He can't defend well enough to trust him at CB, for a CB he's a great passer/dribbler though, which is why I think with his average defensive ability and good passing, defensive mid might be a new option.

What I explained above, if you would barely play at one of the biggest clubs in the world at the age of 23, where you need as much match practice as possible, you would also struggle with the pressure and have some flaws here and there.

Klopp isn't a fan of the winter transfer window.
We barely ever signed someone in the winter transfer window, because it's simply alot more costly and it's alot harder through various factors.
I think through his arrival in the middle of the season, he really wants more time with the team to see who can stablise himself and who doesn't.
Who he can improve and who doesn't and so on.
The summer window is just alot easier with contracts ending, players coming to a conclusion that they want change or a bigger opportunity.

Btw the young serbian guy you're about to sign got a major plus, Klopps assistant Buvac speaks the language, which already helped massively when we had a player from Serbia.

Well we definitely disagree on this one; I wouldn't put Chesney near Lloris' level, to be honest. And I think Hart is a fantastic goalkeeper. Saying that I would agree that Cech and De Gea are on a tier above the rest quoted. Haven't been convinced by Courtois since his return (albeit he hasn't played much at all) but he isn't being helped at all by those around him.

Mignolet is a fine shot stopper but lacks a commanding presence in the box to the point whereby he all but stopped coming out for anything beyond his six yard box. Klopp has instructed him to change this, Mignolet missing the cross against West Brom (IIRC) was partly because of the way our coaching staff want him to command his area at all times, which he isn't great at doing.

And then there's his distribution which is as bad as I've seen from a Liverpool goalkeeper. The Burnley game last season was a fucking tipping point, the lad just cannot kick a ball remotely accurately or feel assured when in possession. For a team aspiring beyond 8th place that is a fairly large issue.

But I don't want to throw Mignolet under a bus. I think he's far better than a lot of Liverpool fans let on, but I also know with absolute certainty that this is one position we are evidently lacking compared to the clubs we'd like to call our rivals. No question about that.

Klopp will appear on BBC1 tomorrow at 12:10 saying as much again as Football Focus show a further clip from their interview a couple of weeks ago. Talks about cost, availability, not giving players the best atmosphere to hit the ground running.

Who knows, in the knows have said that the position is a priority for Klopp but that none of his targets are available. Whether this changes now Ter Stegen quite clearly is I'm not sure. Three fairly reputable places are reporting it so we'll see how it progresses. I'd still say it's fairly unlikely we don't do any major business this window, and this would certainly be classed as 'major business'. Which is a synonym for me getting pissed.

Oi Pele, cavilieri is one of quite a few second choice keepers we let go because Reina was boss, and never injured. Had to leave for his own sake, and it's pointless trying to make a second choice keeper stay in those circumstances

I've used g2a at least 5 times and never had a problem. But they really try to add extra cost and dumb "insurance" shit, which sucks. They are semi shady, but their keys seems to always work. Also be aware that RUS versions and such, can only be redeemed in Russia (it says so fairly obvious, but just be sure to notice haha)

What's all this about Term Stergen being average.

From what I've seen his a very good keeper that is still coming to grasp in playing a sweeper keeper role. Something that's hard for any keeper not named Neuer.

I know i know, he has been injured most of the season... But Courtois m8. Even not having played that many matches this season, he has pulled off some really good saves, and has proven himself more than enough the season before and with Atletico.
