Al Jazeera links Peyton Manning, several other athletes to doping ring

Sly alleges that the clinic mailed growth hormone and other drugs to Manning’s wife, Ashley Manning, so that the quarterback’s name was never attached to them.
“All the time we would be sending Ashley Manning drugs,” Sly says in the video. “Like growth hormone, all the time, everywhere, Florida. And it would never be under Peyton’s name, it would always be under her name.”
Big stuff on the way. #woooo

Sly says that he provided Clay Matthews, Green Bay’s Pro Bowl linebacker, with the prescription painkiller Percocet to help him deal with pain before at least one game. He also brags in one undercover video that Matthews texted him in an attempt to obtain Toradol, a powerful painkiller that is banned in many countries but not in the United States.
Ryan Howard, James Harrison, Julius Peppers, Ryan Zimmerman, and Mike Tyson also named in reports as well.

I honestly don't care about PED use but it will be funny to watch all of Peyton's fanboys make excuses for him.

I've decided I don't care about doping as some kind of unfair "one up" because of ridiculous fan/franchise demands for their players to be healed and playing. My biggest worry isn't already established athletes doping up to win or heal their injuries quicker but the effects on those not at professional levels, like high school level athletes feeling the pressure and doing stupid shit.

Manning vs Brady is the NFL's version of Kobe vs Duncan.

What the shit is this? Manning's closest NBA example is pre-2012 Lebron. Gaudy regular season stats and claims of GOAT but inability to consistently win in the post season - especially in the final two rounds.
I'm fine with you calling TD a cheating scumbag with a cheating ass coach. I wouldn't agree, but I'm fine with the accusation.

Same with anyone who would argue Manning has had a better career than Brady.

But let's not get sidetracked with Kobe BS in this thread. That can continue in the NBA thread.
once this doc drops i will be so moist

By RATHasReturned Go To PostLol at putting it in his wife's name.Pretty good tactic but they fucked up by keeping it that close and with the same name.

Yep. Really fucking dumb. This is fucking sad.
Shocking news.
When is LeBron gonna take his Miami vacation again?
Or did he do that already this year?

Knew this would happen.
Apparently the source is recanting his testimony. Either he was paid off or this story was bullshit from the beginning
By DominicanPower Go To PostAl Jazeera America is the best cable news network in the country.
I don't disagree. But a source recanting their information and claiming they were baiting you isn't a good look.

Al Jazeera identified Sly as a pharmacist employed at the Guyer Institute in Indianapolis. But Sly told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that he isn't a pharmacist and wasn't at the Guyer Institute in 2011, as Al Jazeera claimed. State licensing records indicate that a Charles David Sly was licensed as a pharmacy intern in Indiana from April 2010 to May 2013. His license expired May 1, 2013.
Sly also said he recanted his story to Al Jazeera when he realized that it had used information he had "made up" to British hurdler Liam Collins, the undercover reporter who Sly said was trying to get into the supplementation business.
The entire thing looks like shoddy reporting - including actually not checking to see if the guy is licensed and worked at the facility when Peyton was a client. Maybe it turns out true, and maybe he was paid off, but as of this moment - this is 85% bullshit.

I didn't know my wife was doing all this HGH!
Considering Charlie Sly recanted long ago I call BS unless corroboration comes out. There's nothing open-and-shut about this, this isn't BALCO here.
By The Frankman Go To PostConsidering Charlie Sly recanted long ago I call BS unless corroboration comes out. There's nothing open-and-shut about this, this isn't BALCO here.Wasn't he being recorded without his knowledge when he implicated Manning though? That carries a lot more weight than his subsequent denials for me.
By KingGondo Go To PostWasn't he being recorded without his knowledge when he implicated Manning though? That carries a lot more weight than his subsequent denials for me.Being recorded when you say something doesn't make it true. That's some of the stuff he recanted; in the BALCO investigation they had receipts and addresses linking vials to players. Here? Not so much.
Trust me, if you ever watch the Roger Clemens thing with MLB there is so much more evidence than what I'm seeing here.
