By 3SidedPolygons Go To PostIf Cavs beat the Warriors are we going to have to listen to "they would have chipped if healthy" talk until the playoffs?GS most likely wins since Kyrie just came back so rust will be there and it's also in their home.
I honestly forgot that it started this early. Looks like I haven't missed much.
At least the jerseys are pretty nice. Picked one up a couple weeks ago after waffling on it for two months.

Tyreke never pushes the ball in transition and, like many things he does, it annoys me so damn much.
By Gabyskra Go To PostHave they tried putting Whiteside on Davis?no, but he's picked up 3 fouls already.
feeling like a L
That last sequence kind of summarizes the Pelican's season. Davis cleaning up for two teammates missing bunnies, go into the locker room with 18 pts and still be down 4.

By reilo Go To PostThere was a vine of him just a week ago doing a two handed 360 in warmups. Just cause he's not an in-game dunker doesn't mean he can't dunk.
Yeah no I saw that. Still barely above the rim, lol. Not knocking him or anything, dunking at all is an impressive feat of athleticism. I just wouldn't have guessed a 400+ deadlift.
Props to him, he's a beast.
Evans and Gee will start the second half with Asik and I will be sad because that lineup gives you absolutely nothing on offense.
Didn't talk about "benching" Afflalo at all. Talked about his position getting an upgrade and him being the 6th man would make the most sense in this system.
You're not replacing Melo or Porzingis with an upgrade for obvious reasons. Difficult to move Lopez - but if it's possible then yea go for it. But you definitely don't want two centers making 25-30 million combined by keeping him and giving someone else 15 million per. The PG is the least important role in the triangle and a great 3 and D role player is sensible here - someone like George Hill would be great for this team. You don't want a max PG running the Triangle - that's a complete waste.
So you're left with the SG position - If you can somehow convince Batum (preferably) or even Derozan (at a significant discount compared to Batum) to join while moving Afflalo to spearhead the second unit. That would be give you a lot of depth at the wing positions which you don't currently have (You're playing Sasha some nights and a bunch of guys who struggle to get to the rim except for Williams - and he's Williams) and allow you to match other teams small ball lineups.
People are seriously underestimating how much better the Knicks will get by upgrading Calderon with a good 3 and D guy. The PG is the central focus of most offenses and the Knicks have the worst defensive one in the league probably. The fact that they're a respectable defense and elite in some areas while having Calderon on the team says a huge chunk about how solid the schemes are that Fisher is employing.

My favorite part of the argument is who brought Calderon.

Still a fan favorite down here because he has "heart" and "passion". Fuck all of them.

By Dark PhaZe Go To Postgordon plsBack before he got his first big injury, he was thought to be the next great SG. Then he just kept getting continuous knee injuries and never developed a good enough handle to make up for it on offense.
who on earth thought it was a good idea to extend him lol

Let it be known I was calling him a rich man's Kevin Martin back before then. Ya'll shoulda let Phx have him.
Merry Christmas everybody.
I agree with all of this, especially the part about Batum. I think he would thrive in Lance's role in the offense. Also a Line up of KP, Melo, Batum, and AA might be enough to convince a star level PG to go to the knicks in 2017.
Also I agree with you about how the bigs aren't the real issue with the knicks. If anything they have too many damn bigs who deserve minutes. The issue is guard play. KP is the future small ball 5 of the team, but odds are they will need RoLo when they play against teams that can go Big in their front court, and O'quinn for depth reasons and his passing. Rolo is the knicks version of Splitter and if you compare stats and % of cap space Splitter took from the Spurs its legit close.
So I am going to make a comparison and before you guys go crazy its not at all about skill level but usage.
TD - KP
Splitter - Rolo
Diaw - O'quinn
should be a nice rotation of bigs for a few years. Seraphin is a weird case. He could be kept, but they got another rookie big overseas who suppose to be nice and if they keep him they got to pay him.

aka future Mudiay
By Zeus Ex Machina Go To Postaka future MudiayDoes Mudiay have tunnel vision, selfish with the ball, and doesn't try on off-ball defense? Because Tyreke would actually be a nice player without those traits. He'd basically be what the general public thought Lance Stephenson was during that All-Star year.
I hope that's Evans crying in shame on the bench about his game today. I don't want him to be injured, but I want him to have all the disillusions about himself shattered.
Deng is so fucking terrible.
