By blackace Go To Postwhich the Knicks do or do not have?
They're not a complete team yet but they have suitable pieces. Most importantly, if you look at other NBA offenses, what are they more capable of running? If you assume they're going to be a 35-40 win team based on current pace, what other offense would improve upon that?
Pop's system is just as complex and requires just as much discipline and IQ.
They don't have the PG's to run a PG style offense or the athletes to run SSOL full time.
The Flex and the Princeton are a lot more reliant on PG's than the Triangle. Another no no.
4 out 1 in could work, but that creates defensive floor balance issues, and plenty of guys like Afflalo/Melo/Porzingis are more lethal from 15 feet and in them they are from 3%.
They've got suitable Triangle pieces, they need an upgrade over Afflalo to put him as the first guy off the bench and they need a better defending PG that can still shoot a good clip and make solid decisions. If Porzingis becomes solid in the post they can do away with Lopez and play smaller.
By 3SidedPolygons Go To PostAnother bad shooting game from Kobe. Hope it doesn't continue.
Prior to the third he was having a good game. The collapse in the 3rd was unreal
By blackace Go To PostIf you add KD and say Jaylen Brown to their roster next season they are really goodWho's the starting PG? Smart?
Cause Thomas is a ball hog who has managed to isolate every super star team mate he's had. And he's their leading scorer this year. They're starting to pour minutes into D.Lee and rely on him. And Evan Turner.
They don't really have that second star player, just defensive role players. Guys who replicate the same skill set at multiple positions.
I mean, Minesota would be much more appealing to me than Boston. If he's moving. KAT, Wiggins, Rubio.

I know. Go from 6 of 14 to 7 of 22. Sheesh.
I'm hoping it was a b2b issue.
By giririsss Go To PostWho's the starting PG? Smart?he's never played with a single superstar and he's not even top 10 in usage. Don't agree with that at all.

I didn't get Giri's "still be garbage" comment. Boston isn't even garbage right now. Put KD on this identical roster and they have the best record in the conference.

By PSYCH! Go To PostBoston would be tied for 4th in the west, not their fault they play in a tougher conference.rekt
By Fenderputty Go To PostI don't like the triangle with Steph. Seems like it would neuter his abilitiesWarriors run a hybrid triangle
I've said many a time Knicks should trade for Lawson for Calderon and Early right now. Lawson may not be much of a shooter and a huge off-the-court risk in NY but he can break down a D, something Calderon can't do for shit. Houston is fucking desperate to unload him.
Markieff Morris may face disciplinary action from the Suns for tossing a towel at coach Jeff Hornacek during Wednesday's game. But good guy! Good guy...
Morris threw the towel during a timeout after being taken out of the game. "He thinks he's better than [being taken out]," Hornacek said. "Well, show me." Morris has been lousy on the court this season with career lows in True Shooting percentage (44.1) and Player Efficiency Rating (9.4), and his ongoing attitude problems can't be helping his trade value.
By PSYCH! Go To PostBoston would be tied for 4th in the west, not their fault they play in a tougher conference.Boston would have a lot more losses if they were in the west. So not really.
But tell me again how beating the 76'es makes the east legit.

still wondering how IT2 is a ballhog, last time he was in sactown, He, Rudy and DMC all averaged 20+ PPG.
Suns are/were a mess
Fitting in quite nicely in Boston.
also: almost every eastern team has a better record vs .500 or better teams vs western teams,
East is 85-84 vs West and that's including Brooklyn and Philly. WIthout? 85-64.
Anthony Davis last season? Harden last season too.

Why would you take out Philly and Brooklyns records? Why would you take out Philly and Brooklyns records without taking out LA and Nola's?

He managed to alienate cousins. Annoy everyone in PHX. Even Hornacek.
Throws up more asshole 3's than billups ever did.
IT is just stats filler. No thanks. Iused to think he was good too. Then i had to watch him on my team. And he's not as good as his numbers say. No where close.
or the Suns are a mess of an organization that alienated and their best player, created a mess of a roster with three point guards who needed the ball in their hands, two nut case twins and have been tread milling it for the last 3 years
and IT2 has absolutely made Boston a better team

On literally every Knicks-related website, people are criticizing the choice made to ride with Afflalo's ISOs against Shumpert. Everywhere. Facebook, forums, you name it. It's as simple as Calderon choosing to go right, rather than go left. It's as simple as feeding Lance Thomas and disregarding the guy who got 22 and 13.
Yet what do we do here? Pretend Michael Jordan owes a shit-ton to the triangle. Tell people they really don't "understand" the triangle like Tex Winter is Jesus, Phil Jackson is Muhammad and 3sp is Baghdadi. Way to dumb down the conversation. Sla&nt is the only place I found where there is not a consensus about how terrible the ending of last night's game was. Why? Because 3sp "at least knows what they were doing".
The Knicks paid a center 13 millions who is not even good enough to stay on the floor more than 20 minutes, and has regressed incredibly hard in every meaningful category (rebounds, blocks, turnovers, shooting averages). On the down low, 3sp finally recognizes "they could do away with Lopez" because it's just not a contract you can defend any more. Every Knicks fan here this summer thought they were getting a rugged 12/9 type of player. He's averaging a little over 4 boards for december, but nooo, let's not be too vocal about it.
Now what's 3sp's latest great idea? Have a better SG somehow, and make Afflalo a bench player. Forget the fact that it would make him around the 14th most paid bench player in the league, that would also mean that this summer's recruiting was flawed...
You know you've hit a new low when facebook comments on the Knicks page are more rational than the thread here...

So let me get this straight, IT2, Dragic, and the other Morris are all going to top 3 guys on 40+ win teams this year, and the Suns are not the assholes in this situation? Even Gondo isn't that shameless about misusing talent. Boston has one of the most balanced scoring rosters too, the criticism of suckling up shots certainly doesn't make sense this year.
KD realistically fits anywhere he wants on a playoff roster outside of Indiana, Cleveland, and SA. In Boston he'd already be joining a better coached team than he's played on his whole career, as well as a team that has a lot of flexibility going forward (thanks to my team).

To be fair Byron was hired to get Kobe through this season with the least amount of fuss possible and he's done an amazing job at it :)

He was also a bone to toss to rabid lakers fans who got sick of dantoni having Pau chuck threes. Magic was on board and people stopped foaming at the mouth. He's reaching the end of his usefulness though so it's becoming harder to watch.
