Stauskas didn't have that much hype though--people thought he'd take a bit to get going. Jimmer though definitely was someone people were hoping could turn things around in Sac Town.
By 3SidedPolygons Go To PostHarden left you for 5 million. We troll all the time for Presti not paying that out, but in reality, the fact that dude would leave a perennial title contender over such little money and a bigger role says tons about your FO or team relationship with him.
Manu could have done that a million times - he would have made much more any where else and been a starter in like 25 teams for a good ten years.
Kawhi got Finals MVP as a young guy and has done whatever Pop has asked of him, including being the best defender in the league. Harden sucked balls in the Finals and left a clear path to the finals every year to play no defense and make a little more money.
You would have the most talent in the league if you could do what the Spurs did. The fact that there are some differences and some similarities doesn't change that.
Harden would not have gotten a $200,000,000 shoe contract staying in OKC either. That came along with him wanting a bigger role (and succeeding).
But yeah it is crazy that they had 3 MVP caliber players on that squad, and it was broken up over essentially 5 mill. Presti will never live that down.
Jimmer went 10th, the lowest pick the Kings have had since 2007.

then don't fucking shoot 41.7%

By 3SidedPolygons Go To PostWhy am I arguing with Gondo about OKC FO mistakes. Never mindSolid retort.
It's totally fair to give Presti shit for the way he's handled things (especially the Harden situation).
But to point at the Spurs and say "they should have done *that*" is fucking hilarious.
By PSYCH! Go To PostRoberson definitely a quality SG by your standards then? He's a very good defender and he fits the prototype of the defensive-minded starting SG we've had since Thabo.
Sure I'd like to have a guy who can defend *and* shoot but Robes was a good pick for when we got him.
thunder would have been better off with shumpert and smith than waiters
thats one trade i never understood for them

By Dark PhaZe Go To Postboston the type of team that sneaks up on you in the regular season but when it comes time to actually focus on them in a series its a sweepbut with KD they wouldn't be that
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postthunder would have been better off with shumpert and smith than waitersI agree with that 100%.
thats one trade i never understood for them
We were rumored to be close to acquiring Shumpert the previous season for the same pick we eventually used in that Dion trade.
The sooner Dion is gone the better. It really sucks to have a guy on your favorite team who makes you want to watch less of them.
By diehard Go To Postthe "pass to self" was likely blockedStill shouldn't have been a bucket.
The "pass" was deflected by kd but he still traveled like crazy before that even happened. LeBron has always had that pivot foot grace area though.
There's an alternate angle to that play, I want to say that KD did not make contact with the ball but I can't recall 100%. Understandable mistake by the refs but the gliding and then replanting of the pivot foot non call was bad.
By KingGondo Go To PostThe Jackson trade was fine (dude was *not* staying), and we either had to pay Kanter or lose him for nothing.Nope.
You spend way too much time defending terrible FO decisions out of sheer homerism. Yeah, reggie had to be traded cause he wanted to get PAID.
But they PAID Kanter. That's NOT the reason you don't pay Reggie Jackson. They've been making trades that at the time are highly questionable, and in retrospect they've lost out on just about every one of them.
There are many west teams that would be powerhouses with KD on their squad. Add KD to Grizz, Utah, TWolves.

When you're talking about the depth the Spurs have while your franchise had more talent and couldn't keep it, it's really not. Yea the Spurs are an exceptional franchise, so it's not about the Thunder being trash, it's about if the Thunder had the same culture and level of excellence as the Spurs they'd be loaded now. If SAS can convince a guy who could start almost anywhere to not even test free agency or seek a max and come off the bench for over a decade (Manu) and have a guy in Kawhi after winning Finals MVP be comfortable with being the best defensive player in the world in Tim Duncan's franchise instead of wanting to be traded to be an alpha dog and play no defense somewhere else. And OKC couldn't do that with Reggie and Harden.
They've had two guys that Harden could have modeled himself after and OKC lost him over 5 million. It's one thing not to pay him, which is dumb as all hell, it's another thing to not see the talent you have, the trouble giving everyone a max, SA's long time model, and not find a way to get Harden/Ibaka/Reggie to buy in.
You had more talent, you lost it or gave it up. Spurs kept it. Really that simple. Not something Presti should be raked over the coals for, as I said, SAS is the model franchise.
But when you go "they have more talent/depth" without even a hint of irony - I point it out.
I thought the point of trading Harden and not giving him that money was to keep the team under the tax so that they can have more talent and depth?

Welcome to Loud City, SB Nation's OKC Thunder site, has given us one of the best Christmas gifts that a Grizzlies fan can ever receive. This photo of Blake Griffin and Chris Paul taken by W. Bennett Berry should be in a museum, multiple museums, in fact.SEEMS LIKE ITS REAL!

Even with Kaminsky stepping up, the Hornets can't move away from Al. So scusted that we actually need him

Did a paypal window open up for you or something?

Yea, after they hit me back up saying to go through PayPal, I gave my 'donation' through PayPal and my service started back up.

Yea it's not letting me do that. Once I hit the button it takes me to the same place as the credit card payment version, I pick my option and press continue and it says "registration is closed at this time". There's no functional difference between the paypal button and the credit card button.
