Kobe's retirement announcement is probably going to pay his entire salary back to the Buss family in increased viewership and revenue

This looks like a good night for the Knicks. They're playing the Sixers while the Bucks are playing the Spurs, wiz are losing to LA and Charlotte's gonna lose to GS.
About as good as you can hope for in a single night

By 3SidedPolygons Go To PostKobe's retirement announcement is probably going to pay his entire salary back to the Buss family in increased viewership and revenueI think if this had come a year or 2 ago, it would have increased viewership a lot more. A lot of people already expected this to be his last year and this Lakers team is among the worst the franchise has ever produced. I'm sure viewership will increase, but honestly I don't see the increase being enough to pay it back. With that said, I don't think his salary is outrageous from a financial point of view in the short term, as him being on the court does dramatically affect their revenue whether or not he's retiring, but his dent in the salary cap and demanding nature has kept a lot of free agents away, while his ball-hog-nature might be significantly stunting the growth of the younger Laker players, which could make the Lakers a lot less attractive to watch in the coming years unless they finally make a decent coaching hire.

I think I agree with a lot of this. With this kind of season and Russell being a disappointment so far, there would be NO viewership at all from regular fans. He keeps it interesting, especially in road games as people want to see him play for the last time. TWC pays them 150 million a year, so 25 million all things considered should make up for it.
I like Leglar's take (an actual BBALL player, shocker), he's stunting their development a little, but it's overblown. He doesn't play their position, team takes turns isolating or runnin High PnR with everyone, and his backups are World Peace and Swaggy P - two guys who aren't in the future.
More than anything, it hurts them in thinking playing like shit is ok. But they were going to play like a shit as a team either way.

By The Frankman Go To PostI guess Carmelo told Afflalo to man up, because he's playing like the 2nd option right now.
Have the Knicks ever been good enough to win games with Melo being so bad offensively before? I mean outside of that 2013 season?
By The Frankman Go To PostI guess Carmelo told Afflalo to man up, because he's playing like the 2nd option right now.If only Byron was as effective as Carmelo motivating D'Angelo, maybe he'd man up and play like a second option, too.

It's astonishing how Lawson can't get his hand on the ball. Brewer and Jones running point over him. smh
There was a dude on here complaining about the spacing with Bosh on the floor. My team's starting with two centres who can't score outside of 3feet. lelel
By vic Go To Postjesus christ Houston…I legit just checked who had our 2016 pick.

At what point can we stop blaming "McFail" for Houston's problems? Houston actually seems to have gotten significantly worse without him.

I read this as Kemba being a combination of Kobe and Antoine and it's so fitting
