I agree tbh. He's proved himself now at Stoke, Blackburn and Fulham, and I think he did a good job at City too. Bought well for the most part, had them around where they needed to be at the time and got sacked for a more glamorous manager. QPR was a shitshow, but it has been for years now.
Would much rather him than Giggs. If we were hiring from the PL, he'd be my second (and more realistic) choice after Pochettino.

I wouldn't be surprised if the club just had other priorities, though that would be a bit odd when there seem to be so many cheapish German keepers around.
