I know, but statements wins like City don't win you the title. It is these types of games. Unless you are one of the Spanish two, league titles don't usually come down to who beat who. although, it is actually the tiebreaker in Italy
You win the league by being consistent and beating, for lack of a better word, the non-tier 1 teams.
I think it was last Decemeber, I said on GAF that the home game against Everton would determine our title credentials. We were 1-0 up and I think we drew because of a late equaliser. I knew after that game that we did not have what it takes to win the title. You can say what you want about injuries, but mentally we we were not a title winning side.
I am kinda getting the feeling with Napoli, they beat, or rather have humiliated, their title rivals, but come up short in some of the games that they have to be winning if they want to win the title. They should be out in front by now.
On the other hand you have Inter, who have been rather shit against the big boys, but beat everybody else and are sitting first.
We beat Southampton and that will show me that we can mentally be up for any game. Also, while I know a lot of debate has gone on over results vs performance this year, I don't care a fuck about the performance. I don't want us to play great and draw 1-1 because we couldn't finish the game when we had the chance.
