Wenger said the same thing.
People pity him.
Because he is a cunt and doesn't need to be.
By Meus Renaissance Go To PostWhilst some fans identify their club as being made of values such as bringing forth youngsters, I consider my club as being primarily a team that sets out to win in style.Performances go out the window in finals for me. The result is everything in games like that. Runs of boring performances are worrying regardless of result since they leave the feeling that the results will decline imminently, as they have for Man Utd.
I can't understand why someone would be happy with merely getting a result, week in and week out, at the cost of any real enjoyment of the actual play. The creativity. When we were kids, we wanted to play FIFA Street - not play Football Manager with two holding midfielders.
In a final though? Nah.
Meus, would you rather play amazingly and lose the CL final 3-2 or sit back the entire match, score a scruffy winner and win 1-0?
Cesc Fabregas reacted angrily in training last week after Musonda flicked the ball over his head before nutmegging him. [Mail]
Cesc Fabregas then unleashed a heavy challenge on Charly Musonda that sparked a melee among the players. [Mail]

The Invincibles were at their best using ruthlessly efficient counter attacking football.
The George Graham era was defined by what you would call negative football.
Tippy tappy Arsenal was a hit or miss experiment in building a team philosophy around a single very good player that would later casually betray the team.
By n8 Go To PostMeus, would you rather play amazingly and lose the CL final 3-2 or sit back the entire match, score a scruffy winner and win 1-0?
We know the answer to this.
It is silly and most people will never agree with him. It's just not the game he thinks it is.
If Meus wants to see a team play keep away for 90 minutes he should go coach an u10 team and teach them 2 sided triangles and the philosophy of possession %>goals
By Esch Go To PostExactly :lolMadrid fans, man.
If Madrid really want to change the culture around the club they have to follow in some of Pep's (and to a lesser extent Arsenal's) footsteps. Get rid of or put pressure on older spoiled stars. Put some real faith in La Fábrica. Identify a young manager with potential, and actually allow him a couple years- even if it means falling to places 4-7.
But this is a pointless post since it's a team where people have been baying for Rafa's head since his announcement, where the team is winning 10-2 and the fans are complaining, where they are calling for another manager change despite putting out good results in the CL and are literally TWO points off the top in the league from a strong Atleti and a Barcelona that just won the treble.

I just want to see him say it. Because, fucking hilariously stupid as he is, he has some credibility remaining.

But that's your minimum expectation; to win. To me, winning isn't just about a digit on the back page of a newspaper, or having the name of my team engraved onto a trophy. Winning is the first half of the United game a few months ago. It's when you sit up and see a group of players in total sync, expressing themselves, the crowd of their feet applauding a series of passes. It's the joy of the beautiful game.
This is winning.
This is what all fans should aspire to. That is where we get our real joy from. The final whistle result? Those concerned with win bonuses - that's where their real joy is.
Forgot that getting drunk and running back home to beat up your family was one of the greatest adventures in Fable.
winning is nice
A trophy's euphoria lasts for months if not years though. That undefeated season will forever bring me joy
Playing good football and finishing 2nd and 3rd with Ranieri brought me nothing but misery

That is passing the ball.
It's bullshit Meus. Don't tell people real joy doesn't come from winning. Fuck off with that.
Any team can train to do that. Winning is far more difficult and that is the reason people get more joy from winning the league than some wanky passes in the midfield.
Tell Greece that when they won the Euro's what they were experiencing wasn't real joy.

Not to point out the obvious, but I was trying to be nuance with my point that winning isn't (to me) just about a scoreline, but rather how that score is achieved. The choice (and it is a choice) to aspire to do it in style, and actually do it. Those victories (and I think we can all agree on) taste so much better. Why? Because you've been enthralled.
If something as straight forward as a numeric scoreline makes people's weekends, then why is it any wonder that passing like that GIF can make mine?

bouncing it around midfield isn't the only type of entertaining football.
99% of Arsenal fans were entertained yesterday.
You've changed the argument. People are entertained by lots of different styles.
Are you arguing that when a smaller team upsets a bigger team by defending and countering that those fans aren't experiencing real joy?
By n8 Go To PostPep would be an evolution of our current playstyle, pick youth players and look to impose himself on football matches. You're my favourite poster here after noal and FortuneFaded
Three pluses over Mou in my eyes.
i was gutted when we beat arsenal because gary jones didn't rabona around vermalaen before performing a double axel reverse cryuff turn one two with stephen darby

Not complaining about yesterday at all. I just said we weren't that good.

No. That is a different context. If they played like that every week though, and all the fans cared about was the result, then I'd have a word with them, yes.

What a cunt that Francesc is.
He lost it since the day he had his first match or training session with barca
He didn't stand a chance.
Imagine believing your hype - "best midfielder in epl!" - then going into a Barca game with Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta. You would be crushed.
He thought the games for Spain proved he could roll with the top 3, but didn't consider the level barca play is much better than that.

the aesthetics are just as important as the results.
i do have to say that arsenal these past few years haven't been playing like they did before that, so in that respect it is somewhat disappointing to see not winning anything (i only partly care about the fa cup) combined with not playing gorgeous football is extra hard on my gentle soul.
if arsenal win it this season, then they'll have done it with, on average, decent football. it's not the kind of football that made me fall in love with arsenal in the first place, but hey, at least it's not like chelsea. or united. or liverpool.
there are good phases in games with good football, but then there times when it looks like they have no idea what they're doing. what matters to me most is the passing game--and that absolutely needs to improve.
i do have to say my standards have lowered ever so slightly (say this in ramsey's voice). so i'm not as bummed out about the football as i wouldmve been before.
i've learned that it's all relative.
arsenal will win the league and champions league this season, though.
this is the season, lads.
