By Cleff Go To PostSeems like the line coming from United is they're interested in Jose, but want him to curtail his antics and play in a style that fans identify with. Also looks like Van Gaal is definitely going. No support for him coming from United at all.

VivaITK said that the board's basically made up their mind to sack him, it's merely a matter of timing now.
Looking at the United and Citys last 6 league games
United: 8 points
City : 7 points
Fuck me CIty are shite.

Ogden says the main thing keeping LvG in a job atm is that the board are impressed by the structural stuff he's done behind the scenes.

The club’s determination to remain one that is rooted in youth development jars with Mourinho’s heavy focus on the first-team squad at all of his previous clubs.
Mourinho’s tendency to clash with authority, notably the Football Association and match officials, is another issue which has prompted discomfort at United, most notably with director and former player Sir Bobby Charlton citing that as a negative factor when asked about Mourinho’s credentials as a potential successor to Sir Alex Ferguson three years ago.

Think he's been better than Aldweireld.
Smalling and Kos would be brutal.

Complain about manager playing his players out of position.

Yup.

Just reminds me of Valencia at his worst but even Valencia could actually score goals at times.

I don't know. Have you seen that Hazard guy?
MNF team of the season
Butland; Bellerin, Alderweireld, Smalling, Monreal; Kante, Barkley; Mahrez, Ozil, Sanchez; Vardy
Mine would be
Butland; Alderweireld, Smalling, Koscielny; Mahrez, Kante, Dembele, De Bruyne; Ozil; Vardy, Lukaku
bit lopsided but #yolo

By ReRixo Go To Postfucking can't wait for pepKolarov doesn't defend well so he wanted someone over there to help out. I don't think it was a terrible decision although it's impossible to know how things would have played out if Sterling were there from the start. I think the team selection was fine.

Mangala looks like one of those Ligue 1 lads you take a £15 million punt on just in case he comes good. Except he cost £42 million.
£42 million.
£42 million.
As for VivaITK/Gaal, disappointing to hear I guess. Shame it's gone this way.
Not sure what Mou will do with this side but make us sit deeper and be even more pragmatic than we are now. And shun all our youth.
Sigh.
why can't we have ranieri

By Elchele Go To PostlolI don't mind experimentation, it's good to try new things, but to try something like delph as fucking left wing in a big game makes zero sense
you don't get what's coming, do you
it's the sort of idea that's crazy for crazy's sake, gambling on the low chance of success just so you can look like a manager who can see what no one else can see

Ighalo could get on that team of the season I reckon (and not just because he tore us to bits)

I know I'm trying to sound hopeful here but Mou has had some quite fun sides in the past (especially his first Chelsea team and his RM team), although his most recent Chelsea side has probably been the nadir.
By OneTwoTee Go To PostIghalo could get on that team of the season I reckon (and not just because he tore us to bits)He's been flying under the radar a bit for some reason. I know I'd heard a stat earlier in the season that mentioned he was at or near the most goals in England in 2015. Couldn't stop scoring in the 2nd half of their Championship campaign and is on an absolute tear now in the Prem.

Yeah, absolutely. Only misses out because Lukaku's been marginally better.
Nyom, Morgan, Monreal, Cabaye, Barkley, Payet, Ighalo and Kane were my subs. Maybe Albrighton too.

With far more quality than we have. I thought Chelsea were lovely in the first half of last season too, but we'll regress and try and eke out wins. Maybe not bad for this half a season, but still. Not fond.
By Laboured Go To PostThink he's been better than Aldweireld.

That would have been my choice. Smalling and Kos.
Barkley another one I didn't really agree with although maybe I just haven't seen enough of him this season.

But if you take Ancelotti and Pep out of the equation (which I'm inclined to think Pep is by this point) then do you think there will be anyone either now or next summer who is better than him?
By Wedward Go To Posthttps://twitter.com/geoffarsenal/status/679073461344538626
Is this true?
It actually is. The last time he lost a league game at home was at Highbury iirc.
Man he's been around a while.
By Kidjr Go To PostFuck we are going to miss Sanchez, hopefully we will buy well
He'll miss Southampton, Bournemouth and Newcastle.
We should be beating those teams without him.
By Laboured Go To PostBut if you take Ancelotti and Pep out of the equation (which I'm inclined to think Pep is by this point) then do you think there will be anyone either now or next summer who is better than him?
I guess not. It's either Mou or Giggs, I guess.
By n8 Go To PostAs for VivaITK/Gaal, disappointing to hear I guess. Shame it's gone this way.We don't have many good youth players tbf. One of the things coming out now is that the academy has not progressed in years. Fergie took his eye off the ball in that regard. One of the things LvG seems to have done right is recognise the deficiency and attempt to rectify it. But even if that's a success it'll be years before we see results.

It depends what you want, if the board are able to take a long term view an perhaps give another less experienced manager a shot. I think Utd have been totally put off by that idea because what happened with Moyes, however I think the idea in principal is a good one. lvg was bought in to paper over cracks and you'd be doing the same with Mourinho. I do think things like stability are important to clubs like MUFC and think they would rather not be a revolving door like others (correct me if I'm wrong) but if that be the case I really do think it's going to be a case of giving a rising star a chance. When I say long term I don't neccasrily mean being there 20 years but more like 6+ seasons.
