Surely Mesut is going to smash that record?
He is going to obliterate it.
25 at minimum.
By hixx Go To PostIn what way??!?
Aside from the individual goal by Theo, and Citeh's mishap at the end, we haven't really enforced ourselves in this game in any aspect - defensively or offensively. City have remained in control in large parts and Arsenal haven't really had a period in the game where you felt they were on top. That's not to say City have been great - but you couldn't see those Arsenal goals coming at all.
That says something. It's been a hit and run.
Hopefully Arsenal play better next half, because iMO, they've been asleep.

Those assists for Ozil were simple passes. All the finish.

We can't get it into the box because you have 8-9 men behind the ball. I'd happily have 40% possession if it meant my goals came on breaks when the other team just gave it to me. Look at how effective Leicester has been this season despite always being outpossessed.

Imagine whining about how your team is playing when we're two nothing up against Manchester City with amazing goals

that was beautiful
Koscielny pushing on (in the knowledge that City's midfield won't be arsed to track) is clearly chalkboard stuff. Not that he's unfamiliar with going forward, but he never does it this often.
Aside from that, we've been clinical in a bitty game between equals. Can't ask for more.

What is Delph doing exactly?
KDB should be central, doesn't track back at all.
Aguero truly just chucked in there without being ready.
Pep lad, come to the red side.

By Laboured Go To PostAstonishing that City's CB pairing cost £70+ million.

Cackbabble. Just because City have had more of the ball doesn't mean they're in control. They've had 5 minutes where they controlled the pace and flow of the game. Otherwise Arsenal's defensive discipline and threat on the break has been played perfectly.
so many injured players and yet arsenal are still not being outplayed.
look better when defending counter-attacks as well.
this truly feels like a new arsenal.

puts your seemingly endless chase for one into perspective
a bloated market with literally no value
better off searching for the next smalling in the depths of the hipster quagmire
hint: its Reece Burke.

He's been doing it since we lost Santi. Moving forward into space, through balls. I honestly wonder if he could play DM sometimes.
By Laboured Go To PostThis season is favouring counter football to a ridiculous degree.Counter > Possession (unless you are Barca).

Koscielny could be a decent DM imo.
But he's one of the best cb's in the prem so we cant even think in using him there.

No the point is that you should be flexible enough to do both at the right times.
It's like LvG's ridiculous assertion that if you attack you're bound to be rubbish at defending because you can't have both.
Ox mirroring my reaction to that first half.

I thought Arsenal were playing well, bar a few shaky initial 5 minutes or so. MF are keeping it together with very direct passing.

We went to City and won 2-0 by letting them have possession and hitting them on the break.
We are up 2-0 at home letting them have possession and hitting them on the break.
And Meus wants to change tactics.

City have struggled seriously under Pellers against small teams who sit back and hit us on the counter. When you couple that style with the quality of a team like Arsenal, it can be devastating.
I feel like Fernandinho is not a particularly good defensive player.
It's almost as if City turned up without any defensive midfield players. Delph is stopping Bellerin from getting forward. Great. Now everything is coming down that inside right channel.

We must keep our lead here cause on the second half of the league we're getting the toughests games away from home apart from Chelsea and Leicester
