Got 4 in a row from Sunday, and dreading that. The lack of public holidays is maybe the worst thing about retail. Instead of getting the time off, the job is twice as exhausting.
By Ricky Go To PostI'm constantly lateRicky is The Flash(Barry Allen) confirmed
I have to convince myself I want to arrive to work 10 minutes early to smoke a cigarette so that I arrive perfectly in time for work and I have to skip that cig.
I don't do it on purprose, I calculate everything perfectly but I always end up arriving late.
By Wedward Go To PostI don't get it. Do Roma fans hate Roma or something? You'd have to live in Italy, preferably in Rome, and know the culture to (attempt to) fully understand - or not - Roma fans.
Nevermind the ultras and their shenanigans, every club has those, and Roma's are certainly among the worst. But the truly astonishing thing and the thing that sets them apart, is that they have absolutely no emotional middle ground. Goes for their ultras, where such behaviour is more or less expected, as well as mainstream fans. They can go from truly adoring the team to outright loathing them in a matter of weeks. Sometimes days. Watch them go on a winning streak and Nainggolan is suddenly miles better than Vidal, Pjanic could teach Pirlo a thing or two and Pogba isn't fit to lick Florenzi's boots. "Yeah ... yeah, we can take Bayern. YES! WE CAN DO IT!" And they truly believe it. Fast-forward to two weeks later. The CL match didn't go quite as they hoped and they subsequently pulled a dull 1-1 vs. Atalanta at home and somehow managed to lose to Sassuolo away. It's over. It's all over. "Our team is shit, we have no club management to speak of, the manager is a fucking loser, let's sack him tonight!"
And the players know it. Even when they're on a high, they can feel it coming. It happens every year. Without fail. "You know what the definition of madness is?" It's that. The players often react with absolute apathy. Besides, the thing about their management is true. At least the Sensi family, the previous owners, were always there to take the blame, to speak with the media and try to calm things down a bit, as much as you can hope to with such a bipolar fanbase. Now ... The American owner visits Rome a couple of times per year and the people he put in charge - his people - are to football what Micheal Bay is to directing. They have no clue. Nobody knows them. They don't want to be known. They're in the air, somewhere. There's Sabatini, but he's more often than not left to himself, with no one to shield him. He's a mercato man, not a PR mastermind. And so the pro-Roma pundits, who, much like the fans, turn into anti-Roma pundits at the first sign of trouble, have free reign to spew whatever demeaning and destructive bullshit they can come up with. In newspapers, on national TV and on countless Roman radios, where they talk about Roma 24/7.
Collective psychosis, the club.

I feel sorry for anybody who has to work retail at Christmas. I wander through shops seeing them look haggard and stressed and the consumers are just rude and impatient with them.
How nobody lamps the fuckers I will never know...

You make good money on Xmas though. I made double pay at my university bookstore and worked like 11 hours. It was hard work but felt great when I got my next paycheck
By Woodenpapangus Go To PostThis is sensational.Maybe I should go in to management with my suave look.
"Last season the Everton boss Roberto Martínez was clearly troubled by his incipient baldness – subject of much ribald commentary on Match of the Day – and couldn’t decide how to wear what was left of his hair. His players also seemed to lose their way. This season he has gone for a much more confident, sleekly close crop. His team have rediscovered their mojo at the same time."
If only he had shaved earlier. Maybe we need hairstyle coaches.
All I need now is an expensive umbrella and scarf for those rainy, cold nights in Stoke.
The Independent is saying Mourinho wants the United job to be his next one.

@bbcsport_david: Statement from Mourinho management: "He will not be taking a sabbatical, he isn’t tired, he doesn’t need it, he is already looking forward."
@bbcsport_david Mourinho thanks Chelsea fans but no mention for board/staff/players. He won #CFC "another" PL title "which they had not won for many years"
superb post Zabo!
and now Zeman on Roma
and now Zeman on Roma
Zdenek Zeman claims there is no winning mentality at Roma. “They want the maximum result with the minimum effort.”
The former Giallorossi Coach had two separate spells with the club under Italian and American owners, but neither ended well.
Now the team is struggling again and set to fire Rudi Garcia after tomorrow’s game with Genoa. Zeman is not surprised.
“It was sad watching their last few games,” he told the Corriere dello Sport. “There’s something wrong and it is just so obvious.
“I had to commentate on the Barcelona match on Swiss television and that was not easy. I can understand defeat if you play, but not without even attempting. If I’d been on the end of a 6-1 defeat, people would’ve said it was the usual Zeman result.
“In 2013 I was fired after I simply said in an interview that I wanted respect for the rules, that order should have the priority inside an organised system. We cannot do without clear principles and regulations, otherwise there is no future.
“Football has changed and now the role of a Coach is that of someone looking after the team, while clubs are slaves to the players.
“At Roma the players do what they want. I always had 12 on the treatment table and two stuck on the motorway, so I wasn’t happy with that.
“There is a sense of professionalism that needs to be nurtured, always, and that’s what I was aiming for.
“The trouble with Roma is they want the maximum result with the minimum effort.
“The players on my side at the time were Erik Lamela, Marquinhos, Alessandro Florenzi, but also Miralem Pjanic, even if he complained. It’s a shame, because he was caught in a misunderstanding. Pjanic was signed to replace Francesco Totti.
“I am at least glad Totti isn’t playing at the moment, because he carried Roma on his shoulders for 20 years, now they can’t blame him for the current problems.
“Totti was the best player I ever worked with. Alen Boksin was the second best, although it depended on what mood he was in when he woke up that day.”
It's no coincidence that their two scudettos came from two legendary and absolutely unshakable managers - Liedholm and Capello.
Btw, in newspapers today: Zeman, Gazzoni asking for damages in connection to Calciopoli, Bergomi talking about Iuliano and Ronaldo, Evra is looking for a new house and Allegri is on his way to England.

Would take Mourinho in an instant. Don't understand the United fans who wouldn't.
The only real negative is that he threw his players under the bus this season, which is very unlike him, to the point that I think those bastards might have deserved it. Maybe they were un-managable, maybe Jose showed weakness in his ability, I don't know.
Think he'd love the job, think he has wanted it for awhile and maybe he could finally settle somewhere... I think that somewhere was meant to be Chelsea going by the contract he got in August, but that didn't work out.
Still a better manager than easy-job-Pep, anyway.

If Dembele plays today, we will win.
If not, we will lose. You can only rely on youthful exuberance for so long, Dier and Alli looked lost in the second half against Newcastle and they need help from an experienced player when the going gets tough.

Pep will go to City for sure.
- His friends Soriano & Txiki are there
- Best squad in pl to play the football he wants
- Big paycheck
- Aguero can be his new Messi
It's no-brainer really.
However If he values history and prestige of the club most, he will go to United.
