Nevermind the ultras and their shenanigans, every club has those, and Roma's are certainly among the worst. But the truly astonishing thing and the thing that sets them apart, is that they have absolutely no emotional middle ground. Goes for their ultras, where such behaviour is more or less expected, as well as mainstream fans. They can go from truly adoring the team to outright loathing them in a matter of weeks. Sometimes days. Watch them go on a winning streak and Nainggolan is suddenly miles better than Vidal, Pjanic could teach Pirlo a thing or two and Pogba isn't fit to lick Florenzi's boots. "Yeah ... yeah, we can take Bayern. YES! WE CAN DO IT!" And they truly believe it. Fast-forward to two weeks later. The CL match didn't go quite as they hoped and they subsequently pulled a dull 1-1 vs. Atalanta at home and somehow managed to lose to Sassuolo away. It's over. It's all over. And so the pro-Roma pundits, who, much like the fans, turn into anti-Roma pundits at the first sign of trouble, have free reign to spew whatever demeaning and destructive bullshit they can come up with. In newspapers, on national TV and on countless Roman radios, where they talk about Roma 24/7.

Zdenek Zeman claims there is no winning mentality at Roma. “They want the maximum result with the minimum effort.”

The former Giallorossi Coach had two separate spells with the club under Italian and American owners, but neither ended well.

Now the team is struggling again and set to fire Rudi Garcia after tomorrow’s game with Genoa. Zeman is not surprised.

“It was sad watching their last few games,” he told the Corriere dello Sport. “There’s something wrong and it is just so obvious.

The only real negative is that he threw his players under the bus this season, which is very unlike him, to the point that I think those bastards might have deserved it. Maybe they were un-managable, maybe Jose showed weakness in his ability, I don't know.
