Then because the Koreans saw the foreigners doing it they decided to do. While you had me at the back, like a true Jedi master, enjoying it comfortably without flashiness.

But I think JJ has a pretty fucking difficult job; he has to placate all the people who moan that they rely too much on the old characters, and all the people who moan that Luke isn't even on the poster, and all the people who moan that it looks like a rehash, and all the people who moan and just say they want the old Star Wars back. The easiest way to do this film was to make the most amount of people happy. That means simple, familiar plot and nostalgia. That's fine.

Plot is one of the least important aspect of films in the end anyway. A shit film can have a good plot - case in point Episode III, which has a lot of really good ideas and concepts - and still give you nothing or no one to care about, so why would you care what's happening to them?

If VII has a predictable plot but great action, acting, characters, score, cinematography... then it'll be better than if it was the other way round. Plot isn't why you revisit your favourite movies. It's the execution. That's why you still go back to Se7en and The Usual Suspects despite knowing the ending. That's why people still like a A New Hope.

One shot was filmed for IMAX and none were filmed in 3D.

It is all in your head mate.

BTW I don't know what you think but for the opening scenebut I really hated it. Just see a black image scrolling on screen and then have to wait for a few transports to pop out. One of the best parts of the series is that they always hit you with a great visual right from the start, but this was pure shit.

Avatar and Hugo's 3D was great, but other than that not fussed.

I saw Episode 1 two days ago and will see Episodes 4-6 in a marathon later tonight. Wonder if I can at least see the Shank approved Episode 2.

If TFA is anywhere near ANH quality i'll be delighted.

Still think TPM is the worst by orders of magnitude. It's so bad that there was no way you could've made the following movies good even with a different director/writers.
