The only one who was hard on Dybala is Shanksu, because he was pissed that Juve spent nearly 40M€ on a half-season wonder nobody instead of going in balls deep for Berardi. Everyone else is and has been masturbating furiously over him for a while now. Nobody expected him to hit the ground running in such an impressive fashion though, that much is certainly true.
Berardi's had a shitty season so far, for various reasons, but he's a true to Budda natural talent. One with some hard edges in the mental department, but nothing that can't be fixed by moving to a big club, where childish behaviour isn't really an option. Going by the last two-three seasons, I don't see how anyone could've come up with the impression that Dybala is 'far and away' the better of the two, when the opposite is much closer to reality.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Mimmo will be amazing for us, if Allegri or whoever succeds him puts him in a position (literally) to shine.

He almost plays like a central midfielder who has been shuttled out to the flanks. He has quality in his technique, but he doesn't have the vision or guile to make use of that. He reminds me a lot of Januzaj.Van Gaal has this effect on flair-based fast paced players( Di Maria, Martial) young and old, trust me once he's gone you'll see Depay take off under the right coach.
Not saying he's a bad player, I just think he isn't up to the required standard and may never be.
Gaal's system is far too restricted and risk-averse to really get the best out of player like Depay, look at his displays from 6 months ago, looks a completely different player.

As for him vs Dybala, not sure who gets the edge on finishing, maybe Berardi with his track record, but Berardi is the much better passer while Dybala is the much better dribbler.
