Didn't like what I saw from Stauskas this game. I want to see him more activity from him off the ball. Still not as much of a clusterfuck as SWAGLemore's SL so far... I'm convinced that Malone's push for constant up-tempo basketball has nearly ruined him. He just doesn't seem to be able to grasp the concept that you don't need to make a straight beeline to the basket the moment you catch the ball past the halfcourt line.

And now we kick off the Gary Harris and Douggy McBuckets show!
Please average 30 PPG in SL, Gary. It'll be a nice little primer to get FOs to start sweating and give them a little bit of a head start to look for new careers.

I know I will be cooking up some crow for myself.
Speaking of former Kings… anyone see the fast break reverse by Thomas Robinson?  :lol:Earlier i posted something like "Thomas Robinson is horrible"
It was posted the moment that happened.
What was the knock on Harris anyways? Short arms?
6'2 w/o shoes and short arms.
Short arms is about the stupidest knock on a NBA player, but for a SG it is double stupid..
What was the knock on Harris anyways? Short arms?
He's 6'2" without shoes and his wingspan is a little below average.
What a deal breaker.
That feeling when the 46th pick looks more promising than your 7th :(
Don't worry. I happened to see Konex singing praise of the 46th pick already, so that means all potentials are lost.
Snell and McBuckets looking goodI'm trying not to get too excited since it's Summer League.
I prefer that to the alternative which would be them putting up Napier #'s.
Jabari will be good, but man, he has to get smarter on the court. He loves chucking up garbage way too much.

Hopefully he gets it together...
I have been slightly impressed by Shabazz Muhammad in one game only tho..
LaVines crossover while not even bending over and barely bending his knees makes Barnes and Wiggins blush.
He needs to give up his dream of playing point and work on his off-ball skills ASAP if he wants to survive a year before his hype fades and he sees the end of a bench.

im starting to see why Rodeo loves Rubio so much
he's simply a god when you look at their other options to run offense through

Not that different from Redick, who I'm not mistaken is one of the few NBA players to have a wingspan shorter than his height.
Some guys just know how to put the ball in the basket, yet people want to find reasons to discount them
im starting to see why Rodeo loves Rubio so muchHe's pretty other worldly when running an offense anyway, but, yes, it is true that I have no desire to see LaVine or Shved handle the ball. Or Barea, either, for that matter.

I don't understand how the conditioning of some of these kids is so bad. How do you get winded after 25-30 minutes of four 10 minute quarters where play stops every other time down the court because both teams are committing a combined 50 fouls a game?
Edit: Also, Alexey Shved is atrocious at the game of basketball. I've seen him turn it over 3 (READ: THREE) times now from traveling after trying to start a dribble from a triple threat position.

i consider our off-season a success when our late 2nd round has more upside than aaron gordon.

Why are all the suns players im interesting in seeing getting hurt? at least archie still looked good and plumlee looked better today.
Would have been nice to see Warren go at it with Jabari. I think he would have outplayed him tonight
and I want to like Thomas Robinson because he is so close with the Morris twins but he just makes it hard with shit like that lol

It was like actually stealing the ball confused him.

If Archie could get some confidence in his shot, he'd be a legitimate rotation player.
Big if, and same can be said about a lot of guys.
I saw a video last year with Hornacek working with him on his shot. I don't know how much he is working on it but I think give him a year or two and he will be in the rotation for sure. His defense is pretty solid and he can get to the basket at will. He just needs to work on his shot and staying under control with the ball. Which he can easily improve on. He has potential through the roof though. And he is only 19 in 3 or 4 years he will be beasting. Why are all the suns players im interesting in seeing getting hurt? at least archie still looked good and plumlee looked better today.

Yeah, the thing to remember with Archie is he's is super young. 19 now, bday in 3 weeks or so? plenty of time to polish out his game, and he seems to be developing ok. Show patience and they could have a good rotation guy there.
How are Jabari and Wiggins looking? Who's looking the nicest out of the rookie class so far?
Haven't really been paying attention. I see Nick Johnson down there doing work tho.

McDermott all day every day baby.
(Not really but it was nice seeing him show off that range yesterday)
Jordan Adams has probably been the best 2014 class player in the Summer League, but Exum and Payton showed more potential for long-term.
Wiggins and Parker haven't been awesome so far.
Wiggins and Parker haven't been awesome so far.
Summer league was pretty much made for Exum to eat---no paint protection and bad perimeter defenders that haven't ever played with each other before. I'm still hesitant to say much about how he'll look in actual NBA games, but I'll admit he's been impressive.
Gary Harris looked the most promising to me though.

How are Jabari and Wiggins looking? Who's looking the nicest out of the rookie class so far?Neither Parker or Wiggins have been very impressive so far. Parker has shown a lot of nice moves but hasn't really finished them very well. Wiggins likes to fall in love with his jump shot but that might just be Blatt telling him to shoot whenever he is open.

aaron gordon is the youngest player in the nba and is an elite athlete, all he is right now is upside
your paucity of bball knowledge is embarrassing, humble yourself son
Jefferson averaged 11.2 points and 6.8 rebounds in the Nets’ five Summer League games, which wrapped up Friday in Orlando, Fla. Always a fierce finisher at the rim, he made 21 of his 30 attempts from the field, a blistering 70 percent.
Cory Jefferson was the last player taken in the NBA Draft, but he has been better than the 59 taken in front of him so far with 0.91 net contributions per minute in early Summer League action. The average Summer League player has 0.5 net contributions and has scored 25 points with 11 missed shots.
Power Forward – Despite being picked 60th, Jefferson (Baylor/BKN) has the top mark of any draftee on the strength of 56 points and 34 rebounds in just 107 minutes.:)
Will the Nets leave a roster spot open to sign him for the year? We've got the roster spots. There's a reason we didn't sign Pierce, we're trying to get younger. Right now it looks something like:
Williams/Gutierrez/Teague
Jack/Brown
Johnson/Bogdanovic/Karasev
Kirilenko/Teletovic/Jefferson
Lopez/Plumlee/Garnett
pj hairston on the longest fuckless streak of any rookie thus far
literally hasn't given a fuck since opening night of his sophomore year

I remember liking him a lot more than Isaiah Austin when I saw them in person last year.In one offseason we quietly acquired a pile of promising young prospects with exactly zero draft picks. Developing players is going to be a priority so your boy Markel Brown will almost certainly get some burn this season.
Losing Kidd hurts, but now I'm hearing that he's going to ascend to team president next year and quit coaching so at least I won't have to worry about him being successful in Milwaukee.
