Just to clarify. I don't know what 'taken into custody' means in other countries, but here (in France) it just means police is currently interrogated Benzema. That doesn't mean he's guilty or anything. Actually I just looked up and Benzema being taken into custody was known since October 19th (in french). Seems like he just tried to help Valbuena too. No surprise then, it's just police doing their work.
Djibril Cissé was also 'taken into custody' a couple of weeks ago about this. Turns out he wasn't guilty at all, he just tried to help Valbuena, telling him who was blackmailing him. That's just how it works here. They do this with everyone related with this case.

Before jumping to conclusions, being taken into custody is a normal procedure.
It was exactly the same with Djibril Cissé 3 weeks ago and he walked free without any charges.
The investigators just want to hear what Benzema has to say, since he was one of the first to reveal to Valbuena about this blackmailing.
Unfortunately, nowadays people read titles and comment solely based on them…

I think I might skip it and play it a year or so down the road. I'm not ready to get myself into another 100h+ game after MGSV, which completely drained me. So much that I haven't played anything in more than three weeks. SOMA is next, after that ... Just Cause 3, methinks.

I guess, but I played so much FO3 and New Vegas that I developed a slight repulsion towards the series. It's a thing with me. I'm usually okay with one sequel and then I'm fucking done, unless the devs ops for a significant change in direction. Back in the day I played so much goddamn Gran Turismo 3 that it put me off the series and racing games in general for more than a decade. Dark Souls is nearning that point as well. DS3 will probably be the last one I play, and I likely won't even play it at launch. Unless Yurt convinces me, which he probably will, the Souls nerd.
