It is now December 1st, pls someone make a thread before one of the Barca twins wake up.
I would, but I know nobody here wants 31 days of Totti related titles

Disgusting, so they delayed our match against fc midtjylland until next year. Pathetic. After cancelling only a hour before we were supposed to play. sounds like they were really afraid of those tired legs from their Europa league matches.
By n8 Go To PostClegg, I think that's pretty bang on. Some quibbles, but really I just don't think we have difference-makers to finish off pretty well structured attacking play. Said it Sat/Sun.
Tbf LvG has been saying the same, as has GNev.

By Laboured Go To Post“Jap. Yo Jap. Walk on. Walk on. Oi, walk on. Yeah you, Jap. Walk on,”
I wonder if the guy Vardy was shouting this at was a Thai prostitute he'd have been fired? (I'm aware the insult Jap would then be null but roll with me on this)
It's not "null" in that case. That just would mean Vardy is so ignorant he doesn't even choose to insult someone's race properly. I've been called a (sand) n****r before.

but make it pls.
The fact that we still have this pathetic Barca title is beyond me.

Yeah fair enough, just put in the addendum in case someone decided to be a smart-arse.
I'd be tempted to buy one of those Kindle Fire tabs at £35 purely for watching Nteflix in bed. I know it's not HD but does anyone have any impressions of it?

A family member got one, can't say I used it much or got a huge impression of it, but it seemed solid for what it does, especially at the price.

By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostFootball is a simple game. You just need to get the ball in the back of the net.Spot on,
What's the point of stringing 70 passes together when you can get it done in one.
Whenever I hear Xavi could see 14 passes ahead, I often think why wasn't he good enough to just get it done with one.
The implication there being that you can get it done in one always, so why ever bother playing 70 passes?
Because the reality of it is that you can't always play one pass. Sometimes you need five. Ten. Twenty. Seventy.
I'm fine with how we play. If we had someone like Bale knocking in 30 yarders at the end of all our passing and probing no one would complain. Personnel is a bigger problem than tactics for me.
And all the ex-United players can fuck off and all, been spewing fallacies for months now.

It does feel like as a fan base people are lurching between everything being great and everything being terrible from week to week. It's all comes off very uncomfortably Arsenal for me.
Sums paid to agents Oct 2014 - Sept 2015
Sorry to do this but that means it looks like Arsenal spent £11.9m on agents fees, but only spent £24m on transfers for Cech, Gabriel and Belik. That can't be right surely.
Less surprised by United and Liverpool since we both spent a fair chunk.

By LFMartins86 Go To PostRenewals also normally cost agent fees.
Yeah good point. Can't recall who they renewed for. Maybe Sanch and Ozil got renewals? I can't recall.

It implies that all there is to possession football (and really this is obviously leveled at guardiola's coaching in particular since Xavi was mentioned) is just lots of passes, which is overly simplistic and dumb. It ignores the positional interchangeability leading to many possibilities wrt runs and shooting opportunities . It ignores how fluid yet extremely disciplined his teams are at maintaining proper spacing not only for when you have the ball but for when you lose it - one of the reasons why Guardiola teams are very safe in transitions. People focus too much on the passing and ignore what's happening when they're all off the ball or seeking to win it back; which is more about achieving maximal mastery of space for offensive progression while generating the least amount of risk possible.
By Hitch Go To PostSometimes I feel like Man Utd are keeping the ball purely as a defensive method.
They are. LVG's possession based ball is more akin to Spain's than Pep's. He will occasionally play a high line and try to overload but it hasn't worked well. He lacks the overwhelmingly superior players on the ball that Pep has at Bayern
By Laboured Go To PostYeah good point. Can't recall who they renewed for. Maybe Sanch and Ozil got renewals? I can't recall.
Arteta, Cazorla, Sanchez, Ozil, Koscielny, Walcott, Wilshere and more iirc. Also overlooking some of our academy buys besides Bielik.
The press saying Chelsea have to keep Falcao until the summer. Imagine being that unwanted that even Monaco protests you coming back. RIP Falcao. RIP Andres777, RIP COLOMBIA.
Well I can't deny United is boring as hell to watch now though. Feels like our system requires people who can actually cut defense out.
I really feel one of the reasons why Depay was underperforming was because they manmarked him with 2, 3 players at a time. Feel that if he and Martial are on the pitch, it will at least stretch the defense out to mark them. Really want to see both start in a match. Mata in the middle, Lingard on the right, Depay on the left, and Martial as our forward.

Yeah he looks much better with short hair. Unlike Torres, that shit really did not work out for him.
Stop bullying Falcon pls. He wasn't a flash in the pan like Torres, he was genuinely a beautiful great footballer ;_;
Sanchez and Ozil haven't renewed yet.
Both are currently being worked on.
Ramsey got an extension last year as well.

According to a report in Gazzetta dello Sport, Wojciech Szczesny was dropped by AS Roma at the weekend after the keeper was caught smoking in the aftermath of the Italian side’s 6-1 Champions League hammering at the hands of Barcelona.
Yep, you read that right. Caught again.
Look how shit teams are against us as well. Look how well we successfully negate them.
The only teams who have really worried me and been on top of us at any point all season were Swansea for half an hour, Palace for half an hour, and Arsenal for half an hour
We don't have the personnel up top to make a difference. We don't have match winners. What we do have is a fucking sensationally coached defence and the best DM/CB/GK in the league. Why not play to your strengths?

Why not 1 pass instead of 10? Hahahhha lovely.

So you lot are saying now you play defensive football because your attacking players aren't good enough, rather than your attacking players struggling to score goals because of the way you play?

Manchester clearly lack good finishers, if they had Suarez up front they would be first on the table.
By Eike Go To PostEven that is fine. Why? Because he hadn´t been playing that well for the last 2 or 3 months? Then Messi should be off as he was injured during that time.
Penaldo should not be near that top 3.

By Bungie Go To PostSo you lot are saying now you play defensive football because your attacking players aren't good enough, rather than your attacking players struggling to score goals because of the way you play?Yea, I don't understand that narrative, at least the "it's all part of the plan, it's actually a positive" angle, especially that article that compares it to Pep's style. Offensive players being crap is a sad reality, and LVG has improved DF and MF for sure, but he is still looking for pace out the wings above control sometimes, and accommodating Rooney while locking up Martial or leaving out Herrera and Mata and even frustrating other players style. I would say that it's a side effect of playing very structured possession football; it is restricting some players, while others can't find their form.
LVG is not an idiot, but this is hardly LVG doing his best with what he got. United can definitely play better football than they are, they just happen to be more organized out back (and if you saw them against Leicester or Arsenal they can still definitely be punished severely).

an injured messi is still better than penaldo.
Even the last two balloons penaldo won are dubious victories at best. Messi has been superior than the drama queen since he made his professional debut. penaldo isn't even in the same stratosphere.

Every organizational system / overarching team strategy has its weaknesses, and will suit various players more than others. I think it would be interesting to see LVG give the 4-3-3 another try with his new personnel if he wants to attack more.
