Spend big on the off-chance that they'll survive, or accept their lot. The Wilson injury is an absolute killer.

Yeah, Bournemouth are going down. Unfortunate for them, two or three huge injuries. £15m of new talent and their star striker is awful luck, but if they do what Burnley did - don't sell everyone, keep the spending to a minimum, keep Howe in the role - they'll be fine in the long term.

I would spend the money. If you stay up this season, then you get a piece of the new TV money next season (correct me if i'm wrong on that one). Some risk yeah, but in this sense i think you might even potentially consider it an investment in the future

Yeah, but if they fuck it and go down, having to sustain those wages and keep the nucleus of their team...
It's a tricky one unfortunately, but say they go down, having spent more money on more players with more wages, and then Mings/Gradel/Wilson all come back into the side; some will have to move on, some will not be first teamers anymore. It's a tough ask for them to do all that.
Plus they just have to get more points than Sunderland, Newcastle and Villa, who are all very poor. Maybe someone else will get dragged into the fight with the 4 of them as well.
Things might look completely different in January anyway

But who. Would have to spend outrageous amounts to get proven PL players who'll come in straight away and improve the first team.
And what's the point of splashing on some fat contracts only to get feasted upon by the forces of FFP next season.
If I were them I'd get Che Adams finished, maybe Dunk and possibly another move for Demarai Gray if Blues' momentum drops off.

This story in the Daily Mail - A loving father's life destroyed by child sex abuse lies peddled by his own daughter - has one of THE funniest paragraphs I've ever seen in a real story. Like... how is this quote not a fucking parody? How?
‘I was horrified when I heard Tina’s allegations: that I abused her regularly on Saturday nights when her mother was at bingo; that after the abuse I would wash myself and her in a pink sink in her bedroom.
‘I kept telling them this was just a revenge allegation she had made up. But they insisted she wouldn’t have accused me if it hadn’t happened.
‘Now I realise that many things I said in that initial interview were twisted during my trial. I told them I had a regular mistress during those years and that I always saw her on a Saturday night. They kept asking me if I had changed Tina’s nappies as an infant. I said maybe if they were wet, but that was women’s work. I had no idea that would be used to portray me as an adulterer, a liar and a chauvinist.’
It's defo Hazard. Drop him for Kenedy.
Can't believe Brighton are still unbeaten. Six draws already though; looking a bit wobbly. Hughton's a solid coach, but proper "don't lose first and foremost"; don't necessarily think that works in the PL as much as it has in the past (Tony "entertaining football" Pulis shoutout sonnnnnn)
Derby looking good though, glad Clement's doing a good job because he seems like a really solid coach. And doesn't have the ego of a twat like Sherwood and all; has worked at Chelsea, PSG, Real Madrid and doesn't hesitate to take a Championship job.
Who else is there... Karanka still GOAT. Hope Boro come up this year.

I'm not sure which is statistically easier (avoiding relegation in their situation or getting repromoted after relegation), but like Hitch said, their competition to avoid relegation is beatable. Sunderland, Newcastle, and Villa are all in complete tailspins and doing manager / player musical chairs of their own. Like L1nny implies, think the key question here is what buys would you make, for how much and what contracts. Devil in the details here.
The right decision is maybe somewhere in the middle. splash on one position?
Has to be a striker; Murray's decent but nothing special. It's then buying someone who is both good enough to keep you up and can be convinced to come to a struggling side.
