We tanked for too long. Last year, despite being asstastic, guys were together. Coming in late at night to work on their games, playing hard as hell and no stories like this. But the wear has finally kicked in.

i'll never forget this dude looking like Wilt in game 1/2 2 years ago vs the rockets. the darkest days of the mchale era.

They just need to trade for some vets to help their youth act mature. I mean who really on the sixers could tell jah "calm down before you get a reputation that fucks with you your whole career" or "hey you got to lose now to get your pippen/westbook"? They need to trade one of those future picks for some veteran leadership.

Wait nm Okafor just got caught speeding at 108 mph in Philly..... Dude is risking his life he hates philly so much
By vic Go To PostYo Knux, your team needs to do something before he really hurt himself bruh! Not built for tanking. Trying to comit suicide.

I genuinely think the whole idea of not having any vets around is a real flaw in the process. Young teams don't know how to win and even if it pans out and they wind up with good talent eventually, who is showing them what to do? The Wolves at least have Garnett around and playing decently productive minutes to help steer these guys (which is why I think it's come together as soon as it has, although we'll see about the legs of this success).
National title team to the league's joke team. The process is complete for Jah. He'll be traded for an expiring and a couple Picks on draft night and PHilly will draft Skal. The saga continues. Wu-Tang, Wu-Tang.
By blackace Go To Postwho would you say the best passing PF or C is or was?
I want to say Webber… Sabonis and Brad Daugherty get a nod as well as Vlade KG and TD
I'm just not enamored by his APG. He's clearly a very very good passer but everyone on that team is. They lead the league in assists and Steph's not averaging 12 or 13. That tells me what the eye test confirms, everyone makes the extra pass and Draymond is getting a huge chunk of that because he's the intial roll man off a lot of Steph PnR's.
Honestly every great PF of this era has been a great passer almost. TD/Pau/Blake/Webber are really really good. And then KG/Dirk are rock solid too. They just played on systems that didn't generate as many open looks to a bunch of super high efficiency players.
FFS - they've got SEVEN guys that shoot the 3 above 40%. Another guy that shoots it at 39%. that's unheard of and every open look has a higher than 50% chance of going on. It's just crazy.
This is why you can't just "pace and space" and beat them. You don't have the shooters. Then some teams like the Lakers and Philly and Sacramento and Nuggets and Wizards are showing why it's not a universal formula for success.
Honestly any team trying to play that way is wasting their time for as many years as golden state is around. You need to build a team with different strengths, slow down the pace of the game dramatically, have a hyper elite defense that can match theirs, and hope when you face them in the playoffs, like 3 or 4 of those guys go ice cold from 3 for the series. You don't have a shot otherwise.

Hinkie would rather give up his first born than trading a pick away.
I routinely go to Posting and Toasting and Silver Screen and Roll - Two SB Nation blogs.
Commenters on P&T always troll by saying "we prefer talent" as a reference to one of the writers on the Nets SB Nation blog who said that after the PP/KG trade when he was being mocked for his team giving up so many picks. With each passing year "We Prefer Talent" looks stupider and stupider and stupider.
That's what Trust the Process is. It would work too, if Hinkie wasn't obsessively addicted to a few flaws in his approach. Taking the best available player every time, even if it's3 8 guys who play the same position. Refusing to take character/personality into account - especially of his prized draft selections who show an unhappiness from day one. Being ruthless with players and other GM's so that more and more people don't want to play for you or discuss trades with you.

Impressive.

Shootout to DY's main boy: Kemba Walker
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postremember when rodeo wanted to cut zach lavine?I regret nothing. He's still not a point guard. He really improved the hell out of his shot, though and at least deserves some run as a wing. Today really isn't the day for Zach LaVine crow though...
lol

kemba's been okay these last 5 games
By PSYCH! Go To PostWhen is montejuenas expected back?Around Christmas. I love his post moves, but I didn't think he made THAT much of a difference. Now I can't wait to have him back. We were doing a heck of a lot better this time last season with him in while Beverley, Jones and Howard were out.
edit: Exactly a year ago, we were 13-4 with this lineup:
Starters
Trevor Ariza
James Harden
Jason Terry
Donatas Motiejunas
Tarik Black
Reserves
Kostas Papanikolaou
Francisco Garcia
Nick Johnson
Joey Dorsey
Troy Daniels
I don't understand how Jahlil Okafor was comparable predraft to Tim Duncan in skill and attitude when his lack of defensive skill, inefficiency, and you already know his attitude by now.

okafor was supposed to be super al-jeff
No it was Jah.
It think it was mainly due to his on court demeanor and post game than anything. Jah has also mentioned Duncan as his idol. These events are pretty surprising to me because I didn't think dude had any emotions...like Duncan.

Summary: Okafor is a prototypical back-to-the-basket big man and has all the makings of being an all-star-level center in the NBA. He is polished beyond his years as a low post threat and has an outstanding feel for the game. In the age of raw big men, Okafor is the exact opposite, and that is why he will be in consideration for the No. 1-overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
Player Comparison: Tim Duncan. This is a mighty strong statement, but Okafor isn't a sexy/fancy player who is going to wow you with crazy athletic plays. Like Duncan, Okafor is so fundamentally sound, which is insanely impressive for a young big man. He even has the mid-range bank shot that he has displayed every once in a while that is Duncan-esque
TD had D-ro and Pop in his corner and won a chip like right away Okafor is depressed
By knux-future Go To Postwe are on NBA TV.It better be the case. Don't want the shame of giving the Sixers their first win.

The Warriors have literally broken LeBron's mind

In mid-October James questioned the culture of the team, leading to internal changes when it came to professionalism and promptness. It was all addressed in a team meeting before the regular season tipped off.
Those Hoverboards some players cruised around on through the corridors of The Q during The Finals and during preseason play, the organization banned them from the arena, cleveland.com was informed.
Also, that meeting caused some players to spruce up their pregame and postgame attire. James, Tristan Thompson and Mo Williams consistently lead the charge in the fashion department. They take pride in what they wear while at work.
Did you guys see DJ airball consecutive free throws in the first quarter? That zoom in on his face afterwards was great.

they're scared big time.
must be bad if you put together a stacked team looking to get your city that first chip and suddenly Super Saiyan God Goku appears.
By pilonv1 Go To PostThe Warriors have literally broken LeBron's mindNah, they saw how those ex-Knicks players behaved (mostly JR), so they took some pre-emptive actions to limit the damage to the team's culture.

that's actually pretty smart of LeBron--happy to see he's clearly still got a mission as far as basketball
By vic Go To PostNah, they saw how those ex-Knicks players behaved (mostly JR), so they took some pre-emptive actions to limit the damage to the team's culture.Cavs had no culture before lebron returned. Still trying to build that but I guess half the team blowing off those preseason training camps that lebron organized didn't help.
In all seriousness, KCP is a pretty nice player... calling him the #2 in Detroit isn't that much of a stretch.
