Ricky's form looks a lot better and more consistent than it did in previous years, though the big reason for his low fg% was his inability to finish around the basket. And he looked better using his off hand last night to finish some layups.
He won't shoot 59% all year, but he'll be better if he stays healthy. It doesn't have to be an either or thing here.

And he looked better using his off hand last night to finish some layups. It's super rare for a PG to shoot over 50% anyways... only 4 did it last season.. and only 1 of the 4 averaged over 16 pts.. But if he can get between that 44% and 48% sweet spot he will have a monster year... but his career average is like 36% so really 40% would be a good mark to hit for him..

His goal should be to hit shots at a like a low-40s clip (and 3s at around 35% maybe?). If he can do those things, he's basically Jason Kidd and that's an incredibly valuable player.
By linsivvi Go To PostRandle was the only positive I saw from that game.
We looked lost without Hibbert holding center on D, but in general yeah.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postrox could start 0-4 if they don't take care of business against miamitheir entire late november till january is a joke so it won't matter much even if they do.
For real, though, the big KAT is 19 years old and put up 14 and 12 in his first NBA game. Put some post moves on last night, too. Man, what a stud.

By ThaboI was just getting into a livery cab—one of the cops opened the door and said, "Get out of here"—when a homeless man asked me for money. I took out twenty bucks. When I made a few steps toward the guy, an officer said, "You're going to jail." Pero tapped the officer on the shoulder and said, "Relax, he didn't do anything." Another officer pushed him in the chest and he fell. That's what the first YouTube video showed—him on the floor.http://www.gq.com/story/thabo-sefolosha-nypd-assault
More officers started grabbing me. I was trying to put the money back in my pocket. Usually I don't carry that much, but I had six or seven hundred dollars in my hand. One officer pulled me from my right arm, another grabbed me on my left, and another grabbed me on the back of my neck. I'm in, like, an on-a-cross type of position. I couldn't even move. It was just chaos. I had never been arrested before. I understood a little bit late that they were trying to put me on the ground, but if somebody grabs your arms and pulls you on your neck, you fall face first.
Somebody kicked my leg, more than once, from the back to force me to the ground. I knew something had happened as soon as they did it; I'm an athlete, so I know how my body should feel. They were stepping on my foot, too, I guess to try to keep me there. I didn't feel like there was anything I could do to calm it down. I tried to show them I was cooperating. I tried.
By reilo Go To Posthttp://www.gq.com/story/thabo-sefolosha-nypd-assaultCops get so high on themselves. They're supposed to be trained to de-escalate situations, yet time and again they're incredibly hostile and aggressive.

aaron gordon with a 37 per after last night--one game sample size yea, but I was legit just praying for our guys not to get bodied whenever he was out there--dude was a threat for a putback dunk near every possession he was out there

Rubio looked really good last night. I think he's one of those players that can correct their shot form abd improve shot%.

in frank's defense, i'd rather die than see him attempt to guard bosh or whiteside
Once Clifford deemed the Stephenson experiment a failure – that the Hornets weren’t doing anything well with him – players say that they had to endure a few locker-room tantrums. Clifford let Stephenson blow off steam, responding the next day with a detailed video session to show the young guard all the reasons that led to his benching.from the woj piece
“To me, in the NBA, the challenge is that our players are often being tugged so many ways,” Clifford says. “A lot of times people are well meaning. Most issues, or as Jeff [Van Gundy] would say, most losses come from within. Most bad nights start internally.
“It’s friends, it’s family. Sometimes it’s agents. It isn’t that they don’t mean well, but they’re looking at what’s best for the player – not always what’s best for the team. That’s where the conflict is. To me, the challenge is to develop the right kind of coach-player relationship so they know our intent is to get them better, and get the team better."
Shrug off Justise Winslow for Frank Kaminsky
Play PJ at the 2 and then proceed to play Frank only 6 minutes

Lakers were freezing out Russell for most of the first half, but if he thinks he can just stand 40 feet away from the rim and be effective he's kidding himself.
That's why he tries so many Hail Mary passes, not much else you can do standing that far away and effect the game.

I would say that Dy would have meltdowns if Knicks ended up with a better record than the Horncats, but he'd probably just play it cool and rationalize it away.
pretty ridiculous for russell to get benched in the 4th while mudiay is allowed to chuck inspite of 11 turnovers

but whatever, we never win in miami. just glad to see that we're still continuing with the offensive change through the hurdles. i couldn't believe we benched al through the 4th last night. never would've happened last.

He's not playing basketball. Lou Williams is his backup, when you have the 6th man of the year and you're trying to win a game, you don't put in a dude who's unwilling to put effort. Just the way that dude runs down the court, it's such a slow trot. You'll never see him lead a fast break or sprint back on D. It's looking really really bad so far.
By reilo Go To PostThere's a lot to tell about the next 81 games of the season after the 1st game of the season.
Not a prediction of what will happen in the NBA, a prediction of what will happen with Dy. Heck, it's already started.
Rubio's form did look decent in highlights.
Passers of his skill level just need a little offensive threat. If you back off them, they can still get a great view of space without a defender there and make the pass. The more of a scoring threat they can pose, the more they can manipulate a defense.
Also, why would the Pels do this?
Marc J. Spears @SpearsNBAYahoo 9m9 minutes ago
The injury-plagued Pelicans waived guard Nate Robinson, who started versus the Warriors in the season-owner.

I actually think he'd do fine defending Whiteside--he'd get bodied on the glass though.
