Yea figured, once I saw the Malone numbers. Makes sense why he's ahead of Kobe on the all time scoring list.
I think Kareem's scoring at 38 was far more impressive. That man played 57,500 minutes in the regular season after 4 full years in college.

Yea, but when you're in the same converstion as Malone/Kareem/Jordan for doing something at an advanced age - it's kind of the definition of Godlike as far as the NBA goes.
guess we are going to forget how bad a chucker was under Mike Brown when he was 33 and guess Mike Brown doesn't teach D also

His numbers that one year were on par with Melo's the majority of the last 4. But by all means, mention the one season in like 10 where he was sub 45% from the field - and actually at like 43% so not much different.
If you watched that season the spacing and offensive execution was such trash, such utter gutter trash.

I don't get how that network still employs Broussard and Ford and Abbott. I just don't get it.

I like the princeton...
Kobe is one of the greatest to ever play the the game but his 30s have been far from godlike
I just take solace in the fact that KG has aged with some grace and dignity and is totally content to just play 15 minutes a night and let Andrew Wiggins work.
By pilonv1 Go To Posthttp://deadspin.com/espns-chad-ford-has-been-retroactively-editing-draft-bo-1681631642So ESPN is basically full of liars, shills and DV abuse endorsers. Cool. Way to go ESPN.

The Princeton is fine when the 2002 Nets are executing it. Mike Brown has never been able to institute a decent offense (plus I think that Eddie Jordan was hired to implement the Princeton the following summer when Nash and Dwight came on board).
His 30's have been great but not Godlike in the sense that they were the best team in the West for a few of those years and he didn't have to put up 30 a night to win. Even the Mike Brown year, they were 3rd in the West when it was all said and done.
When he had to put his foot on the gas pedal or risk not making the playoffs, that ridiculous D'Antoni season happened.
By PSYCH! Go To PostKobe got the dantoni stat boost
He did. D'Antoni played him in inordinate amount of minutes and treated him like he treated Nash out there in 2006.
It's the same reason Westbrook does what he does when Durant is out. Just give him the ball and run high PnR or isolation every single play down.

By blackace Go To Postyou think KG has the chops to coach? If he wanted to, sure. For instance, I wouldn't say LaVine is a good defender, but I don't it's any coincidence that I've seen real gains in his work on the ball and his working with KG a lot this year. KG still totally understands and is able to teach important aspects of NBA defense.
By diehard Go To Postehh KG kinda fell off a cliff. He's still a good defensive player and rebounds as well as he ever has. Offensively, eh, I don't really want him involved, but he knows better than to take shots form the younger guys.
Rodeo just means KG will sit his ass down now

By blackace Go To Postyou think KG has the chops to coach?Nazr Mohammed thinks Duncan does: http://www.theplayerstribune.com/nazr-mohammed-nba-toughest-players-ever-guarded/
If he wanted to, I think he could make a fantastic coach one day — although I doubt he will go that route. But I think he’d excel because he’s the rare example of a great player who’s also able to explain the game to players on any level. Some great players can perform things that they can’t articulate or teach. But Tim is a natural teacher and was completely selfless with his knowledge. He could do something amazing, and then walk you through his thought process behind it. What more could you ask for in a teammate? What more can you ask for in a leader?
What more could you ask for in a coach?

He has never fouled anyone and if he coaches his players will never foul anyone also
no but really he will be an awesome coach I think
I mean throughout his career Tim Duncan coached even opposing big man while playing. Running back on offense or defense he would give tips and tell them what they did right or wrong and how to improve.
Yes players with high BBALL IQ can coach.

Kidd is a great young coach. I think the Bucks will find themselves and start playing better... they have shown signs of it

I have no idea whether or not McHale is a bad coach. When you're basically doing what the GM wants you to do and following orders to get paid, can't really put that on him.
Zeke turned out to be a guy who let his own massive ego get in the way. I don't know about those other guys that were coaching a long time ago, never watched them to figure out if it was the talent they had or their own deficiencies.

People were shocked the Rockets were decent under him.

But there is a reason why people say HoF players make bad coaches. It's not exactly fair but not without some truth to it

By Gabyskra Go To PostFor now, we project to have 19M in cap space next summer, which is not even enough for one max contract. We need more. We could have twice that were it not for dead weight signings… They better make a financially sensible move before March, and give more playing time to Grant and Galloway who cost nothing and will be there next year. I won't hold my breath.
I'm not going to quote your whole rant but I wanted to just reply to your general theme and this is the first chance I've had to do it today. I'll just say it is too early in the season to complain about having 19 mil in a FA where honestly KD is the only guy who deserves more than that and I don't see him going to NY anyway.
Also there is a chance Fisher is playing guys to increase their value. Seraphin needs to get minutes because with him on the 2.8 deal he is somebody who will be a really attractive trade piece if anyone is looking for a backup big before the deadline.

Like... I've been watching a lot of shitty teams for a long time and I really can't think of a time where that's ever been true. Hell, all of Charlotte's big trades came from selling on guys who were completely washed.
