I really don't think pc users have a lot of friends on console and vice versa. console crossplay I can understand, otherwise foh.
I just gave you an example, hixx plays on halo cause he cant get a new gpu. So there's one already. Think Quiche also plays on xbox sometimes when we play.
But it's not crossplay that is the problem. It's that for whatever reason they limited the controller or keyboard mouse queues to 2 people in a party max only. People could still just play mouse and keyboard on xbox, or controller on pc even if they didnt have crossplay, so that wouldnt solve shit.

When it comes to ranked I think crossplay shouldn’t even be a thing unless the playerbase is that small that people won’t even care. Let controller play vs controller and kb v kb. Someone is getting screwed either way, whether you make the aim assist heavy like Fortnite apparently had years ago when that drama was going on

if a casual like myself gets frustrated at getting grouped with kbm players I can't imagine what the annual cowadoody and fifer buyer feels like.

The average guy (who doesn't post on a forum about vidya) probably doesn't even notice, beyond some players being better than them. Game will just queue them up against some even worse players (on whatever control method), and have them win a few again. Add a slow battle pass to that, and that's player retention right there. We need our unlocks

hey everyone - Last weekend I said I'd be back once we had updates to share around near term playlist plans for Halo Infinite. I'm happy to report that a Slayer playlist is officially locked and loaded for the update next week. Four new playlists: Slayer, Fiesta, FFA, and Tactical Slayer (SWAT) will all be added via a services update on Tuesday, Dec. 14.
As I noted last week, the team's original plans for a Slayer playlist included a variety of new variants that weren't going to be ready in time to deploy before the holiday break. To address player feedback for Slayer in the near term, we'll be releasing a basic Slayer offering to start and will look to bolster and expand with more variants in a future update.
Next week's update will also include adjustments to challenges including removing some particularly frustrating mode-specific ones, reducing some requirements for others, making the weekly ultimate challenge less intensive (getting there is tough enough), and adding brand new challenges specific to the new playlists. Personally I'm eager to check out a new challenge category that's based on accumulating player score (a small initial step towards 'performance based XP'). We'll have some more details to share on Halo Waypoint next week.
These are all welcome changes - in particular the new challenge category being based on player score just makes total sense.
Looking forward to being able to play slayer when I fucking want to play slayer instead of stockpile or some shit.

Well, if you guys want a ranked team slayer playlist just keep doing challenge swaps until you have at least 3 objective mode-based challenges.
I was down at first about the seeming lack of classic Halo set pieces in the campaign but playing more I can appreciate how many opportunities the game presents to craft those moments yourself. Loading up a razorback with a bunch of marines carrying rocket launchers to storm a stronghold, grappling up a cliffside and sniping a high value target from the top, highjacking a banshee and flying around the map to complete a multistage story mission. All it's missing is co-op and some Scarabs that wander around the world for you to board and destroy than it would be 10/10 best hola ever.
The juxtaposition from the good quality MP to the dull boredom of the first few hours in the SP has me considering a whiplash claim

Technically 2 since the banished didn’t even exist before HW2Nobody likes the Prometheans and they are pretty universally reviled. They ruin the flow of combat and restrict encounters because they are not susceptible to every part of the combat triangle (and jesus christ stop the teleporting).

Past the introductory missions and into the open world, it’s growing on me. The actual content of the open world is basic as fuck shit that we’ve all seen since Far Cry 3. The combat and traversal absolutely carry it though.
I can happily swing up cliffs and around the fields with the grappling hook all day. Arcing a good swing is therapeutic.
The boss fights are shitty though. Don’t at all feel balanced for legendary difficulty.

usually kiting is for killing the non-boss so that you can get it down to a 1v1. who tf makes a boss you have to kite in a 1v1.
