This place isn't private, anyone can register. I don't see there being a case for banning someone on GAF, for stuff they post elsewhere, unless you really go after EL or GAF in some vitriolic rants.

Yeah, the first few times I was trying to make a quick post during a game and thought I hit the Preview button by accident. I'd rather see it turned off because it's annoying to post in the NBA thread during games with it on.

Its not like only a few guys were allowed to go off like how they play favorites in off topic threads. Blackace was one of the better mods and would give you a chance to explain before banning you. Unlike some of the mods who ban you for stupid shit or close threads because they don't like how they are going and not because rules are being broken.

My guess is to some degree evilore aka the whitest haircut on earth was getting his panties in a bunch over the fact blackace wasn't really playing along with the evilore and his superfriends game. Ace, from what I can tell, was never confrontational or adversarial (at least publicly) with evilore or the rest of the mods, but he also never struck me as one to just ride along on any bullshit ride that evilore decided to drag the site on. A lot of the mods seemed to be quick to scream how high whenever evilore muttered jump. Ace isn't that type of dude, and for whatever reason evilore seems to be slowly ciricling the mod wagons the last year or so, but ace was always happy on the outside of the wagons. That's all assumption though, I could be completely wrong.

All I know for sure is evilore has a really really hard time with criticism of any kind or challenge to his decrees. He has said straight up that gaf is a dictatorship and he believes that's how it needs to be run to be successful. And like any dictatorship, it's vital that the person in charge give no opportunity for dissension. Once people feel like they have the right to second guess decisions and demand a voice in things, all the power goes away and you are beholden to the people rather than the other way around. And that's something he won't tolerate. And you know what, that's fine. If he wants to run shit that way that's his right and I knew that within my first week posting there. But after five years of it I don't have the patience for it anymore. As he made clear in his ban message, there are plenty of other places to go on the internet and if I don't like the way he is running his little ego feeder of a site, I can go elsewhere. So I will.
