NFL gets Deadspin's and SB Nation's Twitter accounts suspended
- Page 1 of 1
Because when you look into the future and see yourself become a dying entity because of how fucked up your priorities and conglomerate dealings are, this is what you do:
A strange thing happened on Monday night as two major sports Twitter accounts were suspended. The biggest headline is Deadspin’s account that reaches 882,000 people going poof. SB Nation’s highly popular @SBNationGIF account also went bye bye.
If it is true that the NFL is behind the shutting down of these Twitter accounts, it’s just another slap in the face of fans who just want access to highlights. Is Deadspin tweeting out a GIF of a great OBJ catch going to cause Roger Goodell’s world to come crumbling down? Is SB Nation tweeting a GIF of a Jags player blocking against his team really a threat to the NFL’s business model? C’mon, man.http://awfulannouncing.com/2015/did-the-nfl-get-deadspin-and-sb-nation-gif-twitter-accounts-suspended.html
lol, NFL is a joke.
Someone please revive Pete. Pete come back.
Pete pls, you are the only good NFL commissioner.

Silver tha bestest.

Is it possible they're afraid of people using their replays to further expose how poor and inconsistent their officials are week to week?
The rules changes, soft fouls called on defenders and all the fucking commercials have taken their toll on me over the last five or so seasons. I've stopped following the league in the off-season and haven't played fantasy in three. Getting rid of cable five years ago has also made the league less interesting to follow because all of the major sites are hot garbage when it comes to viewing their content. Video ads on top of ads surrounded by ads for me just to see basic information. This is the standard across numerous sites and the sport is just not as interesting as it once was to deal with that multiple times a day.

Yes and no. People do it in the NBA, but like in most sports, people don't care TOO much about interpretation calls being different game to game, as long as they're consistent during the game.
I mean, people still have those opinions regardless of whether or not you have video footage of it. And more times than not, the video footage debunks conspiracy theorists. Except the genuinely delusional ones.

It actually doesn't even sound like the NFL went that route. They used their "partnership" with Twitter to twist arms. It's an interesting legal proposition because the NFL probably didn't even invoke copyright law.

The fact that the accounts were suspended without giving them time to take down the offending material is unusual though.

NFL does it for the money.
let's not act like the NBA is some noble service of the people
Watching NFL w/o cable
DirecTV/Sunday Ticket user
NFL Xbox One app, no Red Zone access, Blackout "Local" games (Patriots vs Dallas) [lives in FL]
NFL App on W10, doesnt actually watch games, just score updates
NFL Network RedZone App, only shows NFL Live
NFL Sunday Ticket App, plays games + Red Zone, cannot be used if logged in on Xbox
NFL Mobile App, subscription only watch games on a phone
ESPN, MNF, TNF
Why the fucking fuck is this so hard for major american sports.
Make one fucking app for every device, charge a shit ton of money, get rid of the fucking blackouts, allow shit on youtube, get the fuck over yourselves. They are so concerned about Money, they would make so much more if it wasnt such a god damn pain in the ass to get the content the fans want.
Ever since MLB.TV has existed, literally every other sport has no excuse, its just shitty business.
