If we can land Smart, I wouldn't be completely opposed to trying to get Lance Stephenson.
Smart
Kobe
Lance
Whoever
Sacre
Gonna force so many techs.
This team wouldn't force any techs.. You'd only be mad at them if they were beating you.. and well.. that team is a hot pile of trash

Are you saying that team wouldn't even have a lead all season? I'm OK with that.

It's very possible that the Kings would sweep them..
But I was told that LA couldn't possibly be one of the worst teams next season. I don't know BA…
With all that money they have, I doubt they don't sign a few decent players to go with Smart and Kobe..

I'm already expecting to sign average guys to too big of contracts. HopeI'm wrong.

Kris Humphries future!
My main concerns with Payton are:
1. I don't like the way he dribbles the ball for a PG. It' doesn't look like a secure dribble and he had trouble dribbling in the lane in college.
2. His body is very young. His frame, combined with his dribbling, gives him trouble with finishing inside. This will be even more of a problem in the Pros. It's matter of waiting to see how his body fills out.
Otherwise, I really like that he takes pride in his defense. He has all the right answers in interviews, and I don't worry about his jump shot. It looked better in workout vids, and honestly, half the great PGs in the league couldn't shoot when they came into this league.

He reminds me of another Payton quite a bit.. Just not quite as good. He is built a lot like GP and could be groomed to play a bit like him..
If the kid is serious about being an NBA star he'll work on his shooting every day and hopefully get better.
I just wonder if he can be anything more than a combo guard.
Whoa, this was for reilo... I thought I posted this hours ago...

Agreed, please no McDermott or either of the two Euro clowns.
I wouldn't be at all mad with Payton at #8 but several of his qualities as a player worry me. I know he has a thin, wiry build at the moment but a guy with his athleticism and penetrating ability shouldn't be as afraid of contact and attacking the rim as he is. Yeah, he's unselfish but I feel like that has more to do with the passive demeanor, which doesn't make me buy into him being a legitimate playmaker. Nice crossover moves but overall an average handle for his size. Love his tenaciousness on defense though.
So my pick: Tyler Ennis
One of the most legit pure points I've seen in a draft for as long as I can remember. This kid knows how to run a team and get people the ball for easy looks. He just seems to always know the right man to hit in every situation. People like to compare him to Kendall Marshall which I think is total bull shit. Ennis actually has a mid range game and is more than capable of knocking down pullups off the dribble. His length makes him serviceable defensively while already having solid instincts and awareness on that end. I love his maturity and his lack of fucks when the game's on the line. Considering his length, I absolutely believe he'll learn to become a good finisher at the basket in the NBA.
I don't know of any other Kings fans on this board, so what say you eti?
Also, other guys I wouldn't flip tables over us taking at #8: Gary Harris, Nik Stauskas, Rodney Hood, Adreian Payne or Julius Randle (his motor is too unrelenting for him to bust in the NBA).

My main issue with Ennis is that he struggles to have any drive game, can't get past his man, etc. He works well in the pick n roll, but he needs to learn a change of pace move or improve his crossover.
My other issue is that I hate drafting Syracuse players.
I like that he's a real PG and his shot looks fine. I think he'll learn to play defense in the NBA, but that's always a worry with Syracuse players.

I agree he's lacking that quick first step but to me he's such a smart and clever player with the ball in his hands that he won't necessarily always need it. Him having a decent jumper already will help him a lot here.
And normally I would agree with you on the avoiding Syracuse payers like the plague but to me Ennis isn't your typical bonehead defense 'Cuse player since he already has the right instincts and awareness necessary for him to become a defender that can hold his own in the NBA.
I got tails, I guess. :P
I got heads then.
Either way, the team will probably trade the pick and get a later draft pick in return... and probably draft Ennis or Payton anyways. The guys projected in the 8th pick range are not really ideal for the team. My only concern is that they're high on guys that worry me like Gordon, or McDermott. Randle is talented, but the team has half a dozen power forwards already.

How about Dario Saric for the Nuggs? Long term pick but I think it could pay off in a few years. Not a big fan of Randle here with the current roster.
Gary Harris. Next.
My man.
No idea how some fools have clowns like LaVine, Young or Hairston ahead of Harris in their mocks. Kid will be a legit role player/energy off the bench guy for at least 15 years in this league.

probably should kick this into overdrive, no?Yeah, guys, I've been watching DX scouting videos, I'm ready to make a huge mistake at 13.
You're right.
Everyone has an hour now. We'll just do the first round. If you never speak up then we'll do majority rule for your pick, regardless of team affiliation.
Redblaster has until 1pm before we open up the floor to everyone.

Remember, James Young has that upside.
Oh, I really don't like him. He's being touted as a shooter, but he can't shoot. What is this.probably should kick this into overdrive, no?Yeah, guys, I've been watching DX scouting videos, I'm ready to make a huge mistake at 13.

I don't like most of the guys that are likely going to be available for us tomorrow night (for instance, LaVine, Warren, Young, Hood). I'm just trying to nail down who I dislike least.
Floor is open to everyone now to select for Orlando.
Magic get until 2pm before a decision is made.
I'll throw Ennis out there. That's the pick if no one else chimes in.
