By K@do Go To Posttbf, the lakers are pretty damn good for a tier 3 team in 2k16.
it should be pretty easy to do work with kobe, swaggy and 6man. can ryan kelly shoot 3s in the game? if so then the lakers should be really good in 2k.
By blackace Go To PostI understand what Vahagn is trying to say but silver lining isn't the phase I would use…This is probably true. But it really bums me out that he won't be around to see these guys actualize.
One thing to say is Flip LOVED basketball at all levels and was never above the game so him getting a chance to put together a young team with a promising future for Minny before passing seems like something that would give him some solace during his last days
There really needs to be a banner or something for him opening night.
By reilo Go To PostThat's like… what?
Dumb as fuck.
The books are loving this and no doubt wiping their tears of laughter away with stacks smh
there's zero point in betting on favorites for an investment that won't come for 8 months
with that said--lakers are dollars in flames

says coaches leaguewide will wear lapel pin this season to honor Flip Saunders' memory</a>
Good stuff.
Just read that Shane Larkin led the Knicks in minutes played last season...
Yea I think you can toss out last season entirely then.

538 had nothing nice to say about most of the players in their write-up, but even then they projected the Blazers at 39 wins, which I would be astounded if they could manage that.
The Jazz will now play in the Vivint Smart Home Arena.
Everyone will continue to call it the Delta Center.

"celtics have a lot of very good non-allstars"
When I think of that, I think of fringe all-stars-- a bunch of Eric Bledsoes, Goran Dragics, etc. IT might count in the east, but the rest are just "good" players. A collection of David Lees and Amir Johnsons aint shit.

But I'm really enjoying the David Lee revisionist history from Simmons, where that dude is suddenly now good and he didn't rip him for years as being empty stats and no defense.
By KingGondo Go To PostLol, Russ dropped 3 spots in ESPN's #NBArank.I don't have Insider but I'm gonna guess it's because he played 46 and 67 games the last two seasons after being indestructible his career before then.

Not that it matters.
By Vahagn Go To PostWe're still talking ESPNrank and Bill Simmons opinions on the Celtics?Season doesn't start until tomorrow. What else is there to do.

The answer to that and all other similar questions is "study tape of offensive and defensive systems, especially the Triangle" duh
Your job gives you way too much free time on the road lol
EDIT: How long is your avatar bet supposed to last, Vahagn?

It really does.
I don't remember to be exact. Start of the season or beginning of playoffs.
By reilo Go To PostOkay, find out. I unlocked your profile btw, so you can change your avatar/tag/whatever.
Sweet.

KD will probably take a 1-year deal and seek the 10-year veteran max in 2017 because the cap is gonna blow the fuck up even moreso.

It's an excellent opportunity to play and scout in a new situation for a year before locking into it for sure
whatever his decisions going to be this summer is what it will be--but he's not going to delay it by a year, he'll have learned everything he needs to about OKC by years end
It'll probably be in OKC, I agree. Russ and Ibaka's deals expire in two years, so that would make their free agency line up.
Ugh. It's gonna be awful unless we chip this season.

By Dark PhaZe Go To Postwhatever his decisions going to be this summer is what it will be–but he's not going to delay it by a year, he'll have learned everything he needs to about OKC by years endHe would take a 1-year just to get the 10-year veteran max. Sure, he could do it with any team but it wouldn't make much sense. 2017 is probably his goal.
By db Go To PostI don't see OKC chipping but that might just be me.It's unlikely for *any* team to predict a championship before the season. Even a team loaded with young talent coming off one of the most dominant seasons ever (GSW) or a team with a clear path to the Finals (Cleveland).
The season is long and lots can happen. Mainly injuries.
We need to at least show that at our best, we're a strong contender for a title. To me that means a good showing in the WCF.

Then he can reevaluate.

I know he'll take a 1 year deal. Not sure why you think trying out a place for a year makes no sense. Pretty sure Dwight enjoyed having the option after experiencing the Lakers.
"One last go of it" with Russ and Ibaka would seem dumb given it'll mean he'll most likely have failed yet another year with that core.
I hope this make sense?
KD would likely want to make the maximum amount of money before committing long term as well. It makes sense to make a 1 year deal to coincide with his teammate's free agency so that Durant has more leverage across the league during free agency.
Delaying a year would coincide not only with Ibaka and Westbrook's but players like Curry, Griffin, Lebron, Howard, D-Rose, Gobert, DeRozan, Parsons, etc.
Not even counting the players who are able to opt out of their contract like Cousins or even players in 2016 who choose to sign a 1 year deal as well like Beal and Conley. The 2017 scary stacked as to how much leverage players have in choice of teams and money to make. Take less money to build another super team, take more money, trades it's ridiculous.
Imagine the possible landing destinations and decisions these new free agents make with the newfound money. There's more flexibility in creating unbalanced, super star teams. It's entirely possible if there is no new CBA or lockout changing salary rules and restrictions in the next year.
Obviously this would be best case scenario in terms of free agency and we could see less names if some of these players choose to take extensions rather than commit to free agency.
Winning a championship in 2016 and maybe 2017 is do or die and is extremely important in the decisions of players coming into the 2017 free agent class.
That said I don't think teams like OKC, Cleveland, Houston, LAC, etc. will chip in the next 2 years barring injury. It's up to those teams to revisit their priorities and remain healthy while trying to keep homecourt advantage for the postseason. You don't do that by making players average 35-40minutes+ a night.

By db Go To PostWhy are people even talking about Houston.
Because Zach Lowe and they are undeniably good on paper, but they have so many extraneous issues that bar them from reaching their potential as a team.
Because of these problems it's safe to ignore Houston and shit on the team.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Post"One last go of it" with Russ and Ibaka would seem dumb given it'll mean he'll most likely have failed yet another year with that core.I assume you'd count getting to the WCF and losing as "failure"?
Washington hasn't been to the conference finals since the 19-fucking-70s. We've been 3 times in the last 5 years.
