I saw it as disappointment like, fuck why am I going to Minnesota and not a better city. His face and posture certainly made it seem that way.
Kinda like how Okafor was bitching about wanting to go to a contender and not wanting to be in Philly.
I like Aaron Gordon and believe in him but from what I've heard he's kind of an ass. At least that is the impression my housemate from Mitty said when he was classmates with him.

I like to think Okafor just has no emotions. We had a game winner where dude was just staring out in to the abyss while his teammates celebrated.
That's that Chicago shit..

Dunno though... Embiid caught a ton of flack and in reality it just became obvious that he was on a delayed feed
Zach is from Seattle so doubt the city disappointed him if anything maybe the team itself at the time
Since we talking rookies and young bloods,
Porzingis is totally going to be better than Russell isn't he? I was never high on Russell just figured everyone knew what they were talking about, but him maybe being a bust is some karmic Dy type stuff after all the Porzingis shit I talked

there are lots of things we don't know... like promises made and broken. Gotta remember that the draft are kids. I remember Lewis crying a toddler with a skinned because the promised they would take him but didn't.
But all them showed up, suited up and played...

he's really gotta feel himself out more. we had a saying back in college "you can't guard slow"
seems ridiculous, but its true. don't know it it'll apply to russell or not, but he's going to have a very different progression than most
also, he needs to never let people think he's a pg. that shit will ruin him
It did seem like Clarkson was running the 1 more as the preseason went on....I just worry that the whole #2 pick thing doesn't tank his confidence. I look at Turner now for example and see that he has finally found his true role...a role that one cannot take as a #2 pick...top 5 picks are supposed to lead teams and shit....
By diehard Go To PostGM's out-think themselves.Because he was too old.
Like how did Hood who has good size and is a skilled player, fall to #23?
By diehard Go To PostGM's out-think themselves. His size wasn't that good, he wasn't the best wing on his team, not a great athlete either.

Just waiting for Justise's scoring skillset to develop. He's got everything else down.
can't believe he's only 19.

I read half of it. Will get back to it later. The first half of the article basically breaks down two plays. The High PnR with a shooter coming from the key to the 3 point arc. and The 3 screen play along the baseline for a corner 3, or some curls.
The 3 screen play is somewhat a variation of the Spurs Zipper and the Triangle Single Double although it leads to a corner 3 instead of a wing 3. Which is cool in terms of the higher efficiency shot, but leaves the player much less real estate to operate with if the play is properly defended and now he's in the corner instead of the wing - it also has far fewer variations than the Triangle Single Double and the Spurs Zipper.
I mean, meh? If the great revolution is 2-4 plays then you have a problem. On the other hand, if these sets are just one miinor piece of a much larger playbook that will be rolled out later, it should help to have more off ball movement and more misdirection. Those are always good things to have in an offensive playbook.
I still have a massive problem with people who think shooting more 3's is the end all and be all of offense, but whatever, that's a bigger bone to pick.

Here's an example of the Triangle SD utilizing a double screen on the baseline to lead to an open corner 3.

@bolded though, I agree - but after having an offense that would've been poor back in 98, I'm extremely happy to see a such a huge shift in just one offseason

http://youtu.be/HjYApoHV5tg - Triangle SD leads to the first option. Open jumper by the guard coming off the screens.
http://youtu.be/4xv59qarhP8 - Triangle SD creates a switch where a guard is defending Pau under the basket. Kobe recognizes it and clears the paint. Pau recognizes it and seals. Fish recognizes it and hits Pau for an easy layup.
http://youtu.be/OlK9Z1klV5Y - Triangle SD where Lamar and Kobe recognize that the entire defense is preoccupied with Fisher. Use the misdirection to swing it around and attack the defense on a Kobe isolation drive.
Literally once the play starts and the first pass is made everything happens in a few seconds with 1, 2 dribbles at most.
and this is just 3 of the possible, I don't know, 20? options that can organically flow out of this. I don't think the Knicks are getting to this mastery anytime soon. I don't think they have the luxury of time.

By the way, Pop's use of blind backpicks on some of the options for the guy at the top to flare out to the wing or blind back picks for the guy on the wing to flare to the corner, is ingenious. It's taking the Single Double Concepts and adding a few more 3 point shooting layers to them. He also reverses it and lets a guard pick off Duncan's man for Duncan to pop out for a free throw area jumper.
God I miss watching advanced and multi layered offenses operate.

I think in a 7 game series you can adjust. But in the regular season, sandwiched between 28 other teams that run the same vanilla sets and little or no practice time? Impossible. Open look every time.

Re: Shabazz Muhammad going to the DLeague
I do actually think that first season under Adelman helped him in some way. He was never going to give Bazz any run and being sent down probably made him realize how hard he had to work. But I still think Bazz gets the credit for turning himself into an NBA player: Dude spent the last two summers training with like Navy SEALs and working with a shooting coach. He got himself way down to 225 lbs, he put in the work.
