If Wall gets close to the highs of YNB I'll be impressed. He has a long way to go.
By Royce Young with RussHave you listened to Ryan Adams’ cover of 1989?.
“Who?”
Ryan Adams.
“Ryan Adams?”
He covered 1989.
“Who are you talking about it?”
Surely you’ve seen Taylor Swift tweet about this.
“Not today. I haven’t paid attention.”
No, it’s been out for like weeks.
“Nah.”
Alright, nevermind.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

What's the likelihood that he's a super fan but has no idea her album was called 1989? I'm guessing 50/50
Still reading this ESPN article on the Lakers rebuild, and it now strikes me as hilarious when Lakers fans in the past would bring up Jordan's Wizards years in any Kobe-v-Jordan argument. Well, how you like them apples?
I'm not even going to look at the stats, but I recall Jordan still being damn good on the Wizards. Infinitely better than what Kobe's been in the past 2-3 years.
The other major issue is free agency. League insiders said top targets would avoid signing with the Lakers as long as Bryant is on the team, a notion that has become more widely discussed as more and more free agents, such as LaMarcus Aldridge, have turned them down.But....
"I can't believe players are saying, 'I can't wait to play with Kobe Bryant,'" one executive said. "They want to play with Anthony Davis, they may want to play with Stephen Curry, they may want to play with Kevin Durant, and maybe LeBron can entice people because he's the best player in the world. But Kobe can't bring anybody there."
"Guys know who Kobe is and that he can be an a–h— … playing with him, his personality, him being ball-dominant," an agent said. "People are waiting for him to leave."
Hold on. Don't champion piss poor journalism and out of context quotes.
I read this article and I never criticized it. It's good journalism and unless he's making up these quotes - they are what they are.
What people criticized was Henry Abott's piss poor article and lack of any context. Straight misrepresenting quotes from players on purpose and attributing everything to one unnamed source.
This has become the prevailing thinking in the league, and I'm sure there's some truth to it. But it's hardly isolated - Monta said peace to Dallas and DJ backed the fuck out. The only people who've gotten to Dallas have gone for massive pay days like Parsons and Wes. Dirk isn't attracting shit either. Ditto for KG in Minny. It's what an aging superstar on a bad team gets you in a league of 5-10 other really really good teams.
But yea, how much ever I might disagree with the premise, I can't Dispute this is good journalism.

Isn't CP3 known to be a bit of a dick on and off the court?
Anyways, if we can go back in time: MJ for sure.
Currently? D-Rose had that whole humble thing going on for the longest, but we all know that train's long gone. I've heard KD is a dick too. So...
LeBron embodies the moment when the best player in the world finally took a political stand, against police brutality, against health issues in football, etc. He's cool in my book.

CP3's a known cunt to be around. He and blake were basically going to couples therapy mid way through their first year, And that's not the first player he's done that with.
By Vahagn Go To PostThat's easy, Lebron
I'd disagree because I don't think most people think his image is that "squeaky clean". He's copped a fair amount of negative press.
ESPN.com is at least doing some interesting stories, this one on the crapshoot that is the Atlanta Hawks ownership and the fallout from the Danny Ferry saga:
Ferry and his staff had also drawn a general personality profile. In referencing Deng, who was born in Sudan and of African ethnicity, Ferry said Deng "has a little African in him," then added, "He's like a guy who would have a nice store out front and sell you counterfeit stuff out of the back."
The suggestion was that, with regard to how he communicated with the team, Deng may be a little two-faced. Ferry would later say he was reading from a report compiled from a league executive who had worked with Deng in the past. The select few who would know, including Ferry, refuse to reveal who wrote the comment.
Either way, Ferry said it. And with the call supposedly being recorded for an absent partner, Gearon had it on tape.
While Gearon felt that Ferry, as he wrote in the June 2014 email to Levenson, "put the entire franchise in jeopardy," Gearon also figured to benefit financially from a Sterling-esque fallout.http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/13457071/nba-how-atlanta-hawks-regime-fell-apart
In the spring of 2014, Gearon was in the process of selling more of his interest in the team to Levenson and the partners he had sold to in September. The agreed-upon price for roughly a third of Gearon's remaining shares valued the Hawks at approximately $450 million, according to reports from sources.
it's funny because I always read the Ferry comments as Deng looked awesome as a player but really wasn't
Levenson ultimately waved the white flag, but Ferry was determined to fight from the outset.Hawks are really in a shitshow.
After audio of Ferry's remarks about Deng was published by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the GM had made a public apology, Silver told the media Ferry's transgression wasn't "a terminable offense." The lead attorney on the Alston & Bird investigation, Bernard Taylor, a well-respected African-American partner, had found no pattern of racism associated with Ferry. Taylor's recommendation was that the Hawks put the correspondence in a file and forget about it.
But Ferry still faced opposition from figures in Atlanta's civil rights community and, of course, Gearon. The Hawks were running out of life vests, and Ferry no longer had anyone looking after him. Levenson remained loyal but was embroiled in his own public battle. Koonin was performing triage on behalf of the organization.
By reilo Go To PostHawks are really in a shitshow.Does anyone believe that the Ferry thing wasn't used as an excuse to sell?
I read the comments and articles at the time. Ferry's comments were stupid. But all i remember taking away from it was "somebody is trying to sell that team and this is their way of doing it with out fan revolt over the sale".
It wasn't even about selling it... selling the team was a giant by-product for Gearon. Gearon just flat out didn't like the Ferry hire and being left out from the decision-making process. He was looking for ways to oust Ferry from day one. The article does a good job covering the timeline and why Gearon had such a target on Ferry. In short, it really came down to Gearon's ego being bruised.
