The length, speed and athleticism of Bev/Ariza/Brewer/McDaniels/Jones/Dwight/Capela is fun to watch defensively.
By Moris Go To PostGobert was pretty underwhelming today, and all the guards showed up. What are the odds?Eh? he only played 12 minutes and was a +11.
I really like Rodney Hood. Good to see Burks looking like himself a little bit, he really should just be our PG.

Video doesn't show a lot of the footwork Jah used to get in position for these shots but dude had my jaw drop in the first quarter. Footwork was unbelievable and he legit looked like a vet against Gortat on the low block in some of those sets.
i was like goddamn, knux gotta be hype--lakers goofed, this dude is gona be a fukin monster one day
and I wouldn't be shocked if Robert Covington pulled a Jimmy Butler one day. dude just looked too stronk in some situations.
scottie willbikinneirejrej some shit tho

I could never hate on Jah. Unlike Randle, he actually knows what to do with the ball when he gets it on top of being stronk as fuck too.

i don't got any love for people that do that because you know its gonna get broke up the instant you land it so it just comes off as cheap..
might be also I have a soft spot for Hibbert...I don't think Indy treated him the right way and he was clearly going through some mental health issues at one point...organization couldn't have been less supportive. rooting for him in LA.

upon further inspection booker was on pace to break carmelo anthony's record for backpedaling after starting a fight
Byron Scott needs to adopt the tactic that Pop and even Snyder use of wasting a foul to stop every fast break situation. It's one of the craziest ways to control pace in the game and super effective. Lakers just let people run them to death.
Also, Roy Hibbert is one of the most fundamentally unsound people ever. Never boxes out, never in rebounding position. A guy with his size and strength should never lose rebounding position against anyone, yet he's constantly just trying to jump over people's backs to rebound, and then wonders why he keeps falling.

and was wearing a fucking mask to boot
Hibbert is too big of a human being to rebound well. Rebounding is about positioning, bounce and reaction time more than it is about length. His value is rim protection--and he's still very much capable of providing it at an elite level.
But yea, Scott is gonna have to do something because teams are going to run on him--and his teammates want to run--Randle, Clarkson and Russell--all those guys wanna do is run. So they'll have to find a balance. They'll have to accomodate Hibbert tho cuz he's the only thing that's going to prevent them from getting waxed in the half court.

Let's be honest, neither is Clifford
true story: Book wearing that headband was the first time a Jazz player has ever worn a headband in a game.
They do need to pass him the ball though. I mean I get the whole "Play the Bynum role circa 2009" but you have to feed him the ball in post up situations some. Kobe's the only guy that got the ball in scoring position to Hibbert last night. The guards and Randle are just having a chuckfest free for all out there.
Also, the Jazz are going to be good this year. Favors/Gobert/Hayward are legit good. Snyder had pity on the lakers not playing them the second half.

I want to get hype but I will hold my hype until Hinkie prove he won't be a poop a trade everyone agaiin...I started to get hype right before the trade deadlines the last two years only to have dudes get traded for scraps...still pissed about the KJ trade. But yeah Jah's already improved jumper is a sight to see, he was foul prone last night (most rookie bigs will be) but he also showed the ability to just get in the way defensively and hope Noel can help out which is all we need really.
But that PG play tho

By Caron ButlerWhen I entered the locker room, I thought I had somehow been transported back to my days on the streets of Racine. Gilbert was standing in front of his two locker stalls, the ones previously used by Michael Jordan, with four guns on display. Javaris was standing in front of his own stall, his back to Gilbert.O_O
“Hey, MF, come pick one,” Gilbert told Javaris while pointing to the weapons. “I’m going to shoot your [expletive] with one of these.”
“Oh no, you don’t need to shoot me with one of those,” said Javaris, turning around slowly like a gunslinger in the Old West. “I’ve got one right here.”
He pulled out his own gun, already loaded, cocked it, and pointed it at Gilbert.
in hindsight that was a blessing
no telling how long we would have tried to keep that trio going before the wheels fell off--shit, we even accommodated everyone pretty well trade wise, Gilbert got to play with prime Dwight and still couldn't find his game again

Gilbert spent a lot of time in my neighborhood. Went to the same high school that my brother did and they graduated the same year I think.
I was so hyped about him when he was in HS, he was our local BBALL hero and shit.
I even remember jumping the fence to my elementary on the weekend and shooting hoops when I was a like in 8th or 9th grade and saw Gilbert in a full weighted vest and ankle weights on doing drills and shooting by himself.
Even played in a pickup game with him once or twice. Insane what turned out.

RT @WojYahooNBA: As @NYPost reports, there was physical confrontation between NY coach Derek Fisher, Griz's Matt Barnes Saturday in LA. NBA security is aware
I'm sorry but:
Somebody outside the locker room called 911. Flip Saunders was the coach back then, but he was too scared to even come into the locker room.the image of a cowering Flip Saunders probably hiding behind a garbage can is cracking me up
