Already 2 episodes are out and we're getting straight to it. A good dose of testicular fortitude.
Episode 2: Bill discusses Deflategate, Roger Goodell, the 2015 MLB Playoffs, President Trump and grating ESPN personalities with his old buddy JackO.
I don't want to hear him weasel out of the Cheatriots controversies.
Waiting for his first NBA podcast.

I like me some Bill Simmons, but this guy is all Massachusetts all the time. He bleeds Boston. God Brady be praised.

It's been like for over 15 years. That's kinda what makes it fun. He's a fan.
By KingGondo Go To PostWent in pretty hard on Mike & Mike.I don't disagree with him though, I felt the exact same way. Goodell couldn't have picked an easier show to go onto.
I don't really blame Mike and Mike for it though or for how they are. They know they're the early morning sports show that families and kids across the country have on while they get ready for the day, so they're not out here trying to make interviews contentious.

The show is incredibly corny and lame though. It could still fit in that time slot without being so forced.
Did you guys listen to episode 3? The beginning of the podcast is 15 minutes of Simmons and Morris talking about how ESPN treats Grantland.
Bullet points:
- ESPN purposefully refused to drive traffic to grantland (grantland's traffic was 46% through their main page)
- Simmons hated his last 2 years at ESPN, he did not want to fit into the mold of what they expected of him for NBA Countdown
- Grantland was understaffed
- Simmons saw his firing coming, because ESPN well understood he would not renew his contract anyway due to growing tension
- the suspension really bugged him

My favorite moment of this new enterprise is still Simmons and Jack-O talking shit about Mike and Mike.
Really digging the new podcasts so far.

Bill Simmons’ podcast may no longer have the promotional muscle of ESPN behind it, but that doesn’t mean Simmons is struggling now that he’s on his own. That's a good start.
Simmons debuted his new podcast, “The Bill Simmons Show” on October 1 and has since been on a tear. By October 16, the show’s 10 episodes had been downloaded nearly 4 million times, according to Simmons. It’s quickly become the top podcast in the iTunes sports category and the 14th most-popular podcast overall.
To be honest, I'm getting annoyed by him doing 2 episodes a week on NFL lines. It's too much. One with Sal is enough, no need to redo it with House every time.
I skip all his NFL stuff anyway, so I listen to just the topics that interest me. His descriptions are pretty much on point, so if I see nothing in there that is interesting, then I don't listen.
BTW, listened to the first 15mins of episode 3, and man, I feel like any person with a long standing job has gone through that. I went through that scenario twice, and it's kinda nice knowing that even someone with so much influence in sports media isn't infallible and can get screwed over.
