Definitely not for everyone though.

Yes. Toronto winning in 2015 is going to be the start of the stats revolution.
Can't tell if your post is sarcasm or not.
You know they made a movie about it?

By Laboured Go To PostTop of the league and joint highest goal difference. Can't complain but it really does infuriate me that we didn't beat Newcastle. I'm also annoyed about the Swansea result cos we were in control but really we should have battered Newcastle and we'd be in full control right now.
Cracking.
That was a nice performance.
Sanchez was immense. Scoring from head and foot, close and from distance. Doesn't get better than that. Ozil picked apart Leiceister's (admittedly porous) defense with some lovely flicks, through balls. The chemistry between him and Sanchez appears to be getting a lot better, which i like. He also did (and has been) making some very nice plays from deeper positions, which i like. Walcott's speed on the counter was a consistent threat. He lives in the half-spaces. First touch failed him a bit, but otherwise he done well. Ramsey's frustration is palpable. Needs to go back to his bread and butter. short passes, lurking outside the box, running his ass off. Arteta's heart is in it, but he just looks sloppy at times to me. A few risky challenges, some missed passes, decreased mobility. Nacho had another great game; he's still the best Arse player of the season ATM. Bellers pissed the ball away a few times, but his pace is still better than anything Debuchy has right now. Koscielny was great. Mertesacker... meh, start Gabriel. Lovely tenacity from Cech.
Overall this was a massively entertaining end-to-end match. Lots of goals, lots of chances, lots of good forward play on both teams. I was worried about our ability to shut down Mahrez coming in but he was mostly silent all match. Still think we're super weak in the centre, but the clicking between our front 4 is what we've been in desperate need of. Leicester need better partnerships between their CBs and d-mid.

Yep. Swansea was a tough one, but 0-0 at home vs Newcastle is absolutely two dropped points. Really frustrating, and still is. Was thinking about it in the shower last night :lol
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostDzeko is so shit.
By Hitch Go To PostMan Utd have had easy fixturesIt's true.

We've played Villa, Newcastle and Sunderland who are all shit and Spurs and Liverpool at H, so not exactly difficult games either.
Saints away is tough I suppose.
By Wedward Go To PostYes. Toronto winning in 2015 is going to be the start of the stats revolution.Yeah I know the movie lol. Has moneyball produced a WS winner though? Giants, Cardinals, Red Sox, Yankees, Phillies? Are those moneyball teams?
Can't tell if your post is sarcasm or not.
You know they made a movie about it?
The Jays were 7 games behind in their division when they started dropping trade bombs and now clinched a playoff berth.
They based it all on their run differential which will most likely be at the end of the regular season the highest since the 1950's

Absolutely yes.

Scored a hat trick in 3 major leagues.
Yeah it is a fantastic achievement, and he is a fantastic player.

None of those teams are.
But everyone knows the world series is all about luck and getting hot at the right time.
Every team has a group of people dedicated to statistical analysis. The A's have been doing it for years.
By HasphatsAnts Go To PostAbsolutely yes.Isn't Cardinals mainly farm system? Red Sox perhaps, Giants I dunno, they've always been consistently in it.
By HasphatsAnts Go To PostAbsolutely yes.
Absolutely not.
All three are in the top 10 highest payrolls.
Many might find this hard to believe, but baseball is actually my favourite sport.
It has just been a killer to watch it life because of time zones in Korea, so my following of the A's is almost non-existent :(((
It was bad back in London, but at least the games were on at a time I wasn't at school/work.

Thank god we have some piss easy games in the next 8 weeks. Only Sevilla game next week could be hard, but they are shit at the moment, so we can win that one even without Messi.
Time for Suarez/Neymar to shine.

So you don't understand moneyball.
Moneyball is about looking at stats and trying to find worth in places that are undervalued, that doesn't mean you don't spend money.
the Red Sox back in 04 were a moneyball team

Bit odd to say Spurs and Pool at home aren't difficult when away teams are winning left and right this season. Think the difference has become relatively negligible the more counter-attacking has become the norm.
Think we've had four relatively tough games and three easy ones (Sun/New/Villa). Happy to have 16 points from what we've played; annoyed we don't have 18 b
By Dissonance Go To PostMaybe the Giants but the rest, naw.
Giants definitely are not.
Have a great farm system, but they spend a fuckton of money.
Rays and A's are really the only successful "moneyball" teams.
Jays have the 10th highest payroll.

Every team is a "moneyball" team by that definition.
By Wedward Go To PostEvery team is a "moneyball" team by that definition. What I'm trying to say is the Jays made their trade moves based off the stat that they had a massive run differential, even while being 7 games behind. They lacked obvious pitching and went after that and more runs with Tulo(who knows how this works out now) and gave up some decent prospects in exchange.

Sure, they have done well.
But they aren't doing anything different than most teams.
By Wedward Go To PostEvery team is a "moneyball" team by that definition.
no, because moneyball argued against signing players based on just talent. It was about saying there is more to a player than just being a "five tools" guy.
The red sox did spend money, but they spent it on players who would get base, and if I remember correctly they had a bullpen that had a few specialists that were undervalued.
I know it made a lot of people really bitter last year, but much like Martial - Destiny The Taken King is the real deal
By Wedward Go To PostSure, they have done well.I feel like a team 7 games back in a pretty tough division at the trade deadline would be trading big names rather than signing big names.

Trust me I know about moves to win World Series', both Marlins chips were bought/farm.
