Showed the biggest strength and our biggest weakness in that game. Superb attacking play from Sturridge, Coutinho, et al, we created chance after chance. Then a couple of crosses out of nowhere that go completely undefended turn a spanking into a nervy finish.

Bit worrying that with a spare centreback we still allow Gestede to get a run on an isolated defender. You have to either double up to pressure the crosser, or double up on Gestede so he's at least under a bit of pressure going for the header. A free cross and a free header/tap-in isn't good enough.

Coman was absolutely good enough to start for us as a winger, but we don't use a winger oriented formation. Allegri's 4-3-1-2 and 3-5-2 are both wingerless
Coman wasn't inconsistent either, he was good whenever he played, but that was almost always out of position! 20 million for someone we're never going to use was too good of an offer and we used that money to go after a (stopgap) playmaker.
