Finally finished watching our Walsall match. A few notes...
- Ivanovic is finished as a player at a top level side. Counted no less than five instances where he was beat, caught out of position and was too slow to recover. Lalkovic, Henry and that Sawyers kid took turns making Brana look a fool down their left. They were obviously targeting him and it was working. A better side would have made more of their chances.
There's more than enough tape now to justify not offering him a new contract next summer. Thanks for the memories.
- Falcao has a worst first touch than Rooney. I'll fight anyone who disagrees. He's awful. It's officially embarrassing for him out there. That is all.
- Baba was hard to judge during this game. He didn't have much to do and was not challenged because Ivanovic was obviously the key to unlocking our defense. Just happy he got a full 90.
- Loftus-Cheek had another good game. Though I do wish he would be a bit more decisive with the ball when approaching the box. A shot attempt wouldn't be a terrible thing.
- Pedro did his thing. Great goal and a real example of a player in the Prem vs defenders in the third tier. The quality gap was very clear once he came on.
- Kenedy was easily MoTM. Quick, strong and fearless in defense and attack. Just great stuff to see him step up and take a leadership role on the ball when he's playing behind shit like Falcao. His goal looked like it meant a lot to him too for whatever reason. I know it was his first but he seemed pretty emotional, like there was a weight lifted off his back or something. Good assist on the Ramires goal too.

benitez passed his first real test last night, we won against bilbao at their home with a weakened squad which we haven't done in a long time.
there are still some worries though, our attackers still lack a bit of creativity and the first goal was a laughable defensive error on bilbao's part. we're also too eager to attack even when leading and our players forget about the very concept of defending.
modric, benzema, kovacic and navas were sensational. pleasantly surprised by kovacic, underrated signing.
