Disgusting FIFA talk in here
Brod said something pretty accurate today, shock horror; brought up Porto's game being moved to Friday, that some of the teams go and play in uncompetitive leagues before/after CL (note I didn't say weaker, but the quality gap between best EPL teams and the rest is objectionably smaller than the gap between Bayern/Barca/Porto etc and the majority of their leagues).
PL money and tv business fucking up our European homes somewhat. I mean, that's only half the argument. The other is that we aren't very good, lol. True enough, true enough.

Bullshit argument. Top teams in pl are weaker than bundes and la liga. That's why the gap seems closer. Bayern would win 34 games in pl at least. Same for a fit Barca and MADRID.

Same for a fit Barca and MADRID.It's not a bullshit argument, but the effect it has is of course impossible to quantify. Other leagues are definitely known to protect their cup teams and be a little more fluid with scheduling. TV contracts generally make for a far more rigid schedule once the network has said we want this game at this time. It definitely plays a major/formative role in the glut of winter fixtures as well.

It definitely plays a major/formative role in the glut of winter fixtures as well.French league always gives CL teams in quarter finals a "free" week so the players aren't tired. They always lose. It's a bullshit argument. Specially considering that EPL clubs are the ones with more money to have at least two top XI in their squads. English teams are shit because the level of the league is shit compared to Germany and Spain, the epl "local" coaches are MLS-level.
And as someone said earlier, Bayern/RM/Barcelona would destroy the EPL.
A league where ARSENAL consistently makes top four is a joke. EPL only seems more competitive because everyone is equally/similarly as shit, but I don't think we're disagreeing on anything really.

I'm pretty sure this is what I just said.

"Former Premier League footballer Marcus Bent has appeared in court charged with affray and possession of a class A drug.
Mr Bent of Claremont Lane, Esher appeared at North Surrey Magistrates Court in Staines earlier.
He is next to appear at Guildford Crown Court on 16 October and was bailed.
The 37-year-old, who played for clubs including Wigan Athletic, Charlton Athletic, Everton and Leicester City, was arrested in Esher on 13 September.
Mr Bent also played as a striker for Sheffield United, Blackburn Rovers, Ipswich Town and Birmingham City during his career. He is believed to have retired from football in 2012."
Surely someone would know when he retired?

Liga's current top 5 decimates EPLs current top 5 easily.

It's not PL teams losing to top Bundes or Liga teams. It's losing to Olympiakos, to PSV, to Porto, to Basel. It makes sense Arsenal lose to Bayern or whoever. The issue that needs explaining is the fact that PL teams are losing to teams that are far, far weaker than they are. If it just happened on the odd occasion it would be understandable. Upsets do occur. It's the regularity and predictability of it that's making it so problematic.
I'm going to the pub to watch the match
Meant to bring a book with me to fill the gap before it

just a simple case of EPL teams finding their level, those losses are the new normal
no, it's not a "haha, EPL best league in the world #premface" type comment, it's just that absurd spending can no longer mask how average EPL top teams are

Here´s a wonderful article about how the writer of Raging Bull and Taxi Driver joined forces with the writer of American Psycho to create a train-wreck starring Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen.
So the PS app has updated to coincide with the firmware update on PS4. Where are these communities I'm hearing about? I see nothing on the app. Events tab is listed at the top but that's it.

Sunderland Echo:
"It was reported yesterday that former Inter Milan chief Walter Mazzarri is under consideration should the Black Cats look for a new head coach, either during the season or when Dick Advocaat’s contract expires in the summer.
And Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have now claimed he was present at Old Trafford on Saturday to see Sunderland lose 3-0 to Manchester United."
Northern Echo:
"SUNDERLAND will make Burnley boss Sean Dyche their first port of call if Dick Advocaat walks away from his current position as head coach."
