By cashman Go To PostI feel bad for the coach that has to come in after Spurrier. That job is a trap.Yeah, it's a terrible job. They'll probably go back to being garbage. Or at least more garbage than they currently are.
Apparently Texas Tech scored 366 total points last season, and through only half of this season we already have 316.
Only need 50 points to match last season's points total, and we play Kansas this weekend.

On October 20th, Jay Bilas will debate NCAA VP Oliver Luck on whether college athletes should be allowed to be paid. FIRE set up the debate and will be live streaming it.

Opponents only have "tradition" and extreme slippery-slope hypotheticals to lean on.

Bob Stoops on Monday concerning the Texas loss -
"We did our part, we showed them 100 times. We went through the last, 2 years ago, the Texas game, and where they're ranked, and where we're ranked, and what's happening, and you show it to 'em, you show it to 'em, you show 'em. They've got to choose to be ready to play. I can't figure out why that would be that a 20 year old, 21 year old, when you only get to play so many times and you have a rivalry game, that they're not, you know. I didn't feel that way. Again, you could put it all on me, but I don't play."
By Monroeski Go To PostBob Stoops on Monday concerning the Texas loss -Pretty weak on his part.
I do think there's a chance OU and Stoops part ways in the next couple of years. Unfortunately their AD knows what he's doing so they might hire someone pretty damn good instead of a Will Muschamp or Steve Sarkisian.
Lane Kiffin to OU
By cashman Go To PostI bet OU is the team that eventually hires Herman.Wouldn't surprise me. It would be a really solid hire.
It'll be interesting to see how the Stoops era ends. If they lose this weekend it would signal a big change for me. Stoops is something like 31-0 following a regular season loss.

Because of a scheduling quirk, Alabama has played 25 times against teams with 5+ days more rest than them since 2007, by far the most (2nd place has had 15.
In those games, Bama is 19-6.
(Credit to Brad Edwards of ESPN)
Edit: Actually, it's apparently because SEC teams have a degree of latitude as to when their bye weeks comes up. That's seriously impressive that teams are angling for every advantage and still getting smashed.

By Monroeski Go To PostPlaying against Kansas in 2015 means being up 20-0 at halftime but feeling like you're losing.Yeah, anyone who doesn't cover against KU has to feel that way.
At least you're on pace to.
In other news, Memphis has a 10 point lead and gets the ball to start the second half.
One of the worst reviewed call failures I've seen.
Nothing like ejecting a senior out of his last game against a rival because of THIS

People all on the punter, but that was a fucking jailbreak. Michigan line fell over on the snap.

Holy fucking fuckshit. We suck so much ass. What a disaster year for UGA football. I hope Mark Richt gets hit by a bus

I'm pretty sure that was the worst ending to a sports game I've witnessed. Worse than The Horror vs Appalachian State. It's not even close.

at least you lost to a good team. UGA is about to lose two weeks in a row to shit-tier SEC squads.
Seriously, what in the FUCK does grayson lambert have to do to lose his job? My god.

Yeah, it's "interesting" alright. About as interesting as even attempting to bring it up, and getting a "stop crying about nothing" from SECSECSEC guys (well, mostly LSU/Auburn peeps). Sucks when the next closest SEC team has like 10 times to Alabama's 25.
Then those same fuckheads keep voting for the 8 game conference schedule, instead of going up to 9. Still the only team in the conference that votes to go to 9.

Ole Miss beats Bama (undeniably a very good win, but they got a bit lucky and Bama isn't invincible this year), they skyrocket. They get destroyed by Florida, the Gators skyrocket. Memphis beats them, they're still in the top 25.
The SEC: where every win counts double and the losses count for half.

I'm bracing for a really unimpressive win against KU this weekend.
I suspect that assuming we get an early lead, we'll spend the rest of the day practicing our atrocious running game.
At least the game should be relatively short.
I think this is a good time to appreciate all the good Tennessee has done for the universe while Alabama sits and adds nothing.

Apparently a car ran through a crowd at the Oklahoma State Homecoming Parade in Stillwater today. Absolutely terrible. 3 dead, 2 critical condition, 27 airlifted to hospitals as of now.
Shit really sad and depressing as hell. Heard on the way home from work dude was drunk. Fuck that dude.
As far as football and depressing goes. That wasn't nearly as depressing as our other games. It was clear Bama was better but man our defense with the game on the line. :/ oh well winning out and going 8-4 seems likely and hard to complain about that considering where shit has been the last 7 years.

Right now it sure doesn't feel like we're a team with only 3 losses, all to top 15 teams. That feeling I had when we were up 20 on KU at the half but it still felt like we were losing has lingered.

We'll see, but I'm pretty confident. 42-21 is my early prediction.
Also, it's a fair point that we haven't played anyone yet. But I think our defense is legitimately good and that matchup will ultimately determine the game. Our offense should be good enough to score on Tech's defense.
Baylor QB Seth Russell officially out for the season with a neck injury.
True freshman Jarrett Stidham will be taking over the remaining schedule that currently features 3 top 15 teams.

That said, going into Stillwater and Fort Worth and winning with a true freshman will be difficult. I'll be watching their game against OU in Waco with bated breath.
