By DY_nasty Go To Posthow did henry win the heisman again?Like 30 carries per game.
I won't even be mad if Bama wins. They've played a hell of a game. That onside kick was awesome.
Terrible play all night by the Clemson safeties though.

40-45 for a national championship game.
I'm not trying to hear "defense" and "college football" in the same paragraph ever again.

By DY_nasty Go To PostClemson's pass rush is crazy.Their pass rush wasn't it, our Oline is as bad as I've said it was, and Coker and the yips for most of the game. Fucking Dominick Jackson would make Bucketstep Bob Connolley proud.
I don't know what the fuck Bama is trying to do about it. Not like the run game is exactly poppin for them right now either
Still think Clemson goofs again.
By cashman Go To PostWell a few months ago, Opiate basically a poster that she wasn't rational enough to have an opinion on pedophillia because she was a victim of child abuse, and then one of those reddit gaf haters compiled an attack post on Opiate that basically dug up a bunch of questionable shit that he's posted across the internet including an old photobucket account with half naked kids and sexual fetish type stuff. While I don't think there's enough there to conclude he is one, it was super questionable when paired up with his post history on gaf.So PD finally got permed, huh?
So then in that Tyga thread PD basically made a coli style post with Opiate's face as the emoticon and got permed off of that, and I just thought it was funny that that's who they decided to side with.
Kinda hope he comes here. He's often a contrarian and troll, but pretty much always an enjoyable one.

By BertramCooper Go To PostCan't wait to see how far the ratings drop from last year.Worse than I thought
Championship ratings:
Duke-Wisconsin (CBB): 17.1 overnight (CBS).
Alabama-Clemson (CFB): 15.8 overnight (ESPN).

UH ends the season ranked #8 in AP poll. They play Oklahoma who ends season at #5. They play opening night down here at NRG Stadium.

We win that game... We got a dark horse chance to get to the top 4.

Considering the state of Ohio has a greater population than the states of Alabama and South Carolina combined, I guess the fact that the ratings were down considerably from last year shouldn't be too surprising.
And then factor in that the highly-populated west coast actually had a team in the title last year and were completely left out of the entire playoff this year.
And then factor in that the highly-populated west coast actually had a team in the title last year and were completely left out of the entire playoff this year.
Not only was there no west coast team--both teams were basically from the deep south. That limits the appeal somewhat even though it was a great matchup.
The shitty ratings for the semifinal games is probably a bigger deal than the mediocre ratings for the final.
The CFB Playoff needs to tell the bowls to go fuck themselves. There's no reason for them to play a part in this. They can continue to exist as consolation games for the teams that didn't make it in, but make ALL of the playoff games standalone events. The Rose Bowl Committee shouldn't have the power to fuck up the scheduling for playoff games. It's stupid.

Ohio State signs blockbuster $252 million deal with Nike
Biggest contract in college athletics.
I hope this results in Nike giving Ohio State a comprehensive brand refresh, like they've given other schools in the past few years (like Michigan State, for instance). OSU's athletic department is all over the place when it comes to branding and graphic design. They need some consistency. Badly.

Damn that's a lot of money. Good for the student athletes who will no doubt see a nice pay increase.

I like what they did to our stuff (incorporating the checkerboard into things, the Grey unis with the smokey mountains on the helmet. ). The stuff we were wearing from adidas were pure garbage over the last few years.
By WSJ metrics, Ohio State football is worth more than both the Cavs and the Indians.

(At least not in the money department.)
By BertramCooper Go To PostYeah, from what I remember pretty much every NFL team is worth at least $1B.On the new Simmons podcast, Malcolm Gladwell commented on the absurdity that the NFL TV contracts are so favorable that even the dumbest, most inept owner can just sit around and make more and more money year after year.
Guys like Jed York, Jimmy Haslam, Daniel Snyder and Mark Davis can continue to be buffoons while raking in the GDP of a small country.

So selfish of those players to ask for money in addition to the priceless gift of a free education.
Won't somebody think of the gamers?

By KingGondo Go To PostDoes the defense have any hope of improvement for next season?I would love to say that it can't get any worse but we've been saying that every year for about half a decade now and have been consistently proven wrong.
Nebraska and Oklahoma signed a contract for more games in 2029 and 2030. jesus fuck that's a ways out. we haven't even made it to the 2020 and 2021 games yet
Starting to hear more and more that Texas is going to finish really really well on NSD. Currently there in the 30s as far as class rankings go, but if they get their targets they could get into the top 10.
As signing day nears, a useful flowchart has been going around providing guidelines on when to send tweets to recruits -
Not as familiar with the calculation methods of the other sites (Rivals stops calculations for each school at the best 20 players in their class) but I imagine you would get similar results with whatever they consider to be a full class, and that's not even considering any potential highly rated additions that would move the average up.

Average stars/rating per player is still pretty good, they just have a low total number of commits. Just by extrapolating out the average commit they have right now to a class size of 20 would put them up in the top 15 on Rivals.
