Macro is super young still so it's difficult to determine what is an accurate fiscal approach. The recent research has suggested that fiscal stimulus during recessions is effective, but that government spending during non-recessions is usually wasteful if the spending is on something other than on market failures or redistribution (and redistribution may not be that "efficient" but is obviously necessary).
I hated EV because of how he defended Russia invading a nation and Venezuela not being able to provide toilet paper or food for its citizens and because EV did it using ridiculous whataboutism or by declaring "media corruption" and "FALSE FLAG."
I'm a mathematical econ person heading to grad school soon so a lot of the stuff I like is really mathy in a way that can be weird to non-econ people. I'll think of some readable policy papers and get back to you tomorrow on that.
